pop-punk is starting to get a lot of attention in 2021. some of the og pop-punk bands would be Blink-182, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Jawbreaker, Paramore, and Fall Out Boys. although, with the help of TikTok, a lot of current day artists are beginning to adopt the pop-punk aesthetic in their most recent songs. some of today's artists that could be considered pop-punk would be Machine Gun Kelly and YungBlud. Machine Gun Kelly and YungBlud have both actually worked with Travis Barker from Blink-182 on new pop-punk, punk rock songs. in this video i walk through how i mixed my vocals to sound like Machine Gun Kelly and other pop punk artists of today in ableton live! I walk through how i add distortion and saturation without ruining the tone of your vocals, how to give your vocals the “telephone” effect, and how to properly double pop-punk vocals. i hope this video helps you and give me some more video suggestions~! ✧ ☆

This tutorial was insane. I've seen too many vocal mixing videos to count and was still unsatisfied with my sound. But once I used the glue compressor and delay and drive n all the stuff you showed it finally clicked. You a real one

Pro tip. Record line for line (aka vocal comp) and play each take back with auto tune on it as you go along. If you can hear the auto tune working hard (correcting the notes you didn’t hit) then you know your take sucked. If you can’t tell there’s auto tune on it, then it’s a good take and onto the next line. When you’re done, you may be surprised to find that you have a decent performance without the enhancement. But that’s all it should be, an enhancement.

Quick question if anyone can answer Ik this a kinda old video but is it hard to learn to use melodyne and do you use melodyne with autotune or does melodyne replace autotune in a whole
Okay, so im answering this because A) im a recording engineer, and B) i used to Dj under the name Little Smoke nearly 20 years ago. 😂
Think of Auto-tune as more of a creative effect that has the bonus of pitch correction. Its a nice, modern verb/chorus effect that sounds compressed.
Melodyne is a more clinical pitch corrector, which is much more natural sounding and is used in most modern music to get vocal performances tweaked, no matter how good the artists original track was. Its a software where you drag notes around on a scale, its very simple to learn. :)

I don't feel this is a punk song, its sounds just like a POP track.... it has nothing rough at all to it? Nice job on the song but I came here looking to see how to mix down punk vocals... Something along the lines of Rise Against, Dropkick Murpheys, Suicide Machines... shit even Blink 182.... this here sounds like Justin Beiber lowering his voice?
