Finally, a video that "TEACHES" instead of just clicking buttons and talking fast without explaining with CLARITY the FUNCTIONALITY of it all. I have gotten LOST watching other videos on this EXACT topic simply trying to figure out how and why to use a vocal effects rack and chains, etc., This was truly helpful. I learned something and could follow along very easily despite the length of the video. Awesome job man. I'm subscribing.!
Not only do you just add these Effects (like Compressor) but you also explain what they do. Appreciate this a lot. Your Videos really help me a lot, thanks.
this makes me so happy! i really appreciate you letting me know, it just made my day. keep making music! and send me one of those songs in my livestreams! i would love to hear it :)
thank you for this amazing tutorial. it was concise and I learnt so much. my favorite tips were: "big problems" - pressing the headphones button and scanning for bad frequencies; the first compressor - moving the yellow line; the multiple de-essers; 2 reverbs panned opposite; and the riser. thanks!
Xole bro, I find it really easy to follow along and understand your tutorials . Keep making more vids bro. You're literally my Go-To guy for understanding and learning Mixing and Production 🧡🔥
This is reeally good - highly recommended. A couple of things clicked with me while watching this - the multi-band dynamics for one. Great stuff my friend - I'll be one closer to your 50,000 subscribers goal - I've no doubt you'll get there, as this is great information, and very well communicated. It's laid back, though 100% top quality - the editing of the video and sound is spot on too. Well impressed.
thank you for the time you put into your videos. I find most tutorials boring or hard to keep up with, but can easily sit down and learn from you in a 30 minute video. I only have a tiny suggestion, one in fact that experienced Ableton users may not like due to the extra time it would add to the video, but maybe if you could sometimes repeat things a few times so that they really stick, or show us how/where to add certain tools. It's easy to get lost when things are explained or shown fairly quickly, and we are still trying to process the new information given, so an example could be: for efficiency purposes, you dragged certain plugins from your prior work without showing us where we can get them in Ableton, but then you showed where to get "forest floor" and "oil barrel," which clarified where to get them/how to do that for those of us that were unaware. Example: if you mention using plugins, a brief demonstration on where you can install plugins onto Ableton, and then where you can pull them up for use, (a start to finish kind of thing), OR if you mention autotune for vocals, naming some of the best ones to use and where you can pull THOSE up. Little details like that expand our knowledge/memory even more (: Once again thank you! & nice music
next up we have a tutorial for spelling! This a fabulous tutorial, the best I have seen for general knowledge will definitely be referring back to this video!
Hands down the greatest mixing video I’ve ever watched! ❤️This helped me so much and I couldn’t be happier because my vocals sound fantastic! I didn’t even know they could sound like that, everything was so low and muddy, but this tutorial completely changed that. I’ve been so demotivated because I just couldn’t make it work, but I spent the whole day watching and analyzing this video and it worked so well! Thank you so much, seriously this is amazing ❤️❤️
This video helped a lot in my ableton learning process with native plugins (came from pro tools and fl) thanks for the info dude, super underrated channel
Like others have said, your knowledge and your ability to teach it so so much appreciated man ! Really saves me a lot of time to have someone explaining things clearly, and to the point! subscribed
jeez.. ive seen a few tutorials about mixing and stuff on yt but yours are just a different level bro. the way u are naturally cool and not acting to be funny (cuz u are by yourself) gives me the feeling as if u were sitting next to me and casually teaching me as a friend. great vid, hope u get much more recognision cuz u deserve it, also u really handsome dude.. no homo

You are a legend! Thank you mate. You got a new subscriber! I just got into making music, and want to try and add vocals in my projects. I feel like every video i have watched, havn't made sense at all.. But you! You somehow just did it. i know at least 400% more about the differet filters and compressors now. The whole "Ableton thing" just makes a little more sense now. Nah fr mate. Thank you for the Tutorial.
yooooo this made me so happy bro! i'm so glad to hear that the video has helped you. hit me up if you ever have questions along the way! recording and mixing vocals is a confusing journey, but it's so worth it once you start getting the hang of it! good luck bro 🙏🏻
big bigg thanks to u dude ! I started doing my friend's vocal track and you helped me bring her vocals to life . I'm still inexperienced but you help me start this journey. I did follow your template and made a minimal adjustments that will fit to her voice. I believe that listening is a vital skill here besides knowing how to use the stock audio effects. Thanks man !
this is a legendary video bro. Just finally starting my music career and helped me so much, I have a lot of classical music training but no mixing experience at all and this is a great teaching vid. Subscribed!
I believe with the gate issue that you have, you want to play with the Look Ahead option on the bottom left, what that does it detects the volume by however many milliseconds you've set it, and that should allow much smoother blends into and out of the vocal.
This is an amazing tutorial, I've been using a free mixing software, Reaper, for a while now and I'm thinking about getting Ableton but the thought of having to learn a whole new DAW is extremely overwhelming, this video makes it seem so much easier than I thought because I pretty much use the exact same effects now but just cheaper versions on Reaper lol
Thank you bro! I'm pretty new to working with daws in general and mixing in particular. This video was really helpful for me. I'v been looking around at different videos here on yt but haven't really got it. Your vid really hits the spot with actually explaining what everything does and why you put it in the particular order. Very educative. Thanks again! Peace.
this makes me so happy man! so glad the video helps you out, and i'm excited for you! recording and mixing vocals is a whole new world of production, it's so much fun 🙏🏻
19:12 i like to boost my dry chain to duck the reverb since reverb often makes vocals sound very distant and hard to hear. i don’t use audio effect racks like that, i just like then up on the audio track, but i definitely learned about that diagonal compressor with your “lines” lol
@@xole thanks bro! been a huge follower of ur vids. just wanted to let u know im so grateful for this video. i changed my vocal chain from the last 2 years, issue was i lacked the compression technique u used :) u taught me how to use that compressor thing (with the dots and lines) LOL
Thank you Xole! I am learning how to mix vocals and this was a great introduction to it, I appreciate your perspective, and definitely learned a lot! keep it up :)
This is by far the best vocal mixing video I have seen. But I have one question, isn't it like a thumb rule to first mix your vocals and then put auto-tune on the vocals?
I would love to see you make a lauv style track with all the guitars and vocal chops and stuff like that....been watching for 6 months now...love your videos xole...hope you'll make your big break someday...we love you
Absolutely amazing video. I've learnt so much from this, and I'm just inspired to go make a track now. Appreciate your effort that went into making this, big thanks to you man!

Which music distributor do you use to get your stuff on Spotify? I can't decide which one to go with.. when I eventually release my music that is..I was thinking about just using soundcloud and RUclips first, but maybe you have some advice on the subject? Thanks xole. Seriously. You've helped me so much when it comes to mixing and have helped complete beginner like me gain some confidence when it comes to working with Ableton. I'll be a loyal supporter of your channel no matter what my man. I love your vids!!
thanks so much for this comment :)) and I’m glad you like my vids! i would suggest posting everything you can to youtube and soundcloud. try to put out as much content as you can! once you make the first song that you are truly proud of, don’t hesitate to put it on other streaming services!! i use Distrokid personally. i would recommend it over TuneCore becuase it’s just a flat rate of $20 for a whole year of unlimited releases!
You’re a fucken god bro. This just elevated the juice to my vocals like crazy. I’ve been trying a lot of youtubers vocal templates and I promise you none of them can compare to the one you just produced us. Thanks so much. Forsure going to subscribe and like this video! 💯
