Where was I in 19?? Probably between August and October 1992, I was conceived. In June of 1993, I was born. Also in 1993, I flew for the first time when I was 2 or 3 months old. My family and I flew many times after that. In 1994, I turned 1 year old. In 1995, I turned 2, and began nursery school. In 1996, I turned 3. In 1997, I turned 4, and began pre-K. In 1998, I turned 5, began Kindergarten, and rode the school bus for the first time. In 1999, I turned 6. My family and I flew so many times when I was growing up that I can't even count them all. My parents owned a greenhouse business when I was growing up, so when we needed or wanted to go somewhere more than a few hours away, flying was usually our most feasible option. We had relatives who lived in different states, so we often had to fly if we wanted to visit them.
Oh yes! The gingles of the 80’s and 90’s . I was a Flight Attendant those decades and it was nothing like today. I flew for USAir and today I am retired from working up in the sky and I am so glad because it’s nothing but hell to fly today. I only fly First Class now and that’s only as good as Economy was back then. Everything in these commercials were true back then and it really was a pleasure to fly during that time. But It’s disgraceful what corporate greed has done to flying and please don’t tell me it’s anything other because the same carriers across the pond still do it like it was back then. Maybe some one will change it back but the way things are going in our once great country I am not holding my breath!
I have also heard that many international carriers have far friendlier and more professional crews than our airlines do. That's not to say that I haven't had very many friendly or professional crews on US based airlines. In fact, I have had many flight attendants on our carriers who were very kind and professional, and very well put together. However, I have also had some that were a little bit short on patience with passengers. The only international airline I can ever recall flying with was probably Air Canada, and I only recall flying with them once, but it was an international flight, and our most feasible option was to fly out of Toronto. I don't recall what our crews were like on that trip.
