I feel like in Viking times Ciara would have drunk all the men under the table and then dragged home the one she liked best.
And every guy there was hoping that he was the one that Ciara liked the best.
*the one who managed to keep up the longest
@@KoshN And some of the women, no doubt...
Nah, she’d have been burned as a witch! 😂😂😍
@@carriejohnson9099 - but (twist!) Ciara's immune to fire... "Oh, this is lovely!"
I don’t understand why Ciara hasn’t taken over Ireland and declared herself Queen.
She already is Queen
Generations from now, there will be a song just like "Óró Sé do Bheatha ‘Bhaile," only it will be written about Ciara.
She will be a modern day Gráinne Ní Mháille and rule the seas as a Pirate Queen.
I am American but I will help in any way I can to start The Ciara Revolution
Viva Ciara!
Irish People : I just love how romantic alcohol is.

This comment reversed my depression. Thank you, sir! 😂

The contrast of Laura and Colin's displeasure compared to Ciara and Eadaoin's absolute joy was perfect. Great video!!
Girls night out with Colin was short lived but I can safely say he is now ‘one of the girlos’
Tnx, hun. What a gr8 nite! 😂
News flash: I've seen Colin in many videos, he's ALWAYS been "one of the girlos." 😂🤣
Never suggest to a man to drink all of the alcohol at once. They take it as a personal challenge. No amount of calling it back will prevent the inevitable shotgunning of what is left in their glass.
Its supposed to be wine-esque. It's made the same way as wine, just with honey instead of grapes.
@@agathamystery Despite my prior joke, one thing about Colin is that when challenged to eat or drink all of something, he usually does it.
THIS is the reason why I was so tipsy in the Taiwanese Whiskey video 🙈 It was the Mead guys!!! 😂 Eadaoin and I went to town on the stuff, it was sweet, delicious nectar 🙌🏻💃🏻🍺💕
Delicious 😋 🤤 already been on amazon for a quick look see 😊
So glad you guys finally tried Mead! I had commented to suggest it for so long like forever ago and I am so glad you guys liked it! Bunratty Mead is my favorite, I get it here in the states all the time! ^_^v
They have lovely cocktail recipes!
Did it also make your hair get darker?
I love your passion for the history of this. I can almost picture you doing a vlog touring Ireland and showing off the sights while giving history lessons. I just wish my tongue didn't despise anything with a hint of alcohol in it.
Stabs of Fertility - Now that's a Nordic Speed Metal band name.
My best friend was a beekeeper and she and her husband made mead. they made hundreds of bottles of different kinds of mead for their own wedding! it was great
Can I hire them for a party? Do they go to renn fest?
Was? :(
@@thelazyduck9370 she just doesn’t keep bees at the moment. Change in life.
I bet.
Mead is like drinking cakes and desserts, it's delicious. Gets you drunk in a hurry though. That wedding must have been bangingX-D
Props to the editor on this video. I love the cut from Ciara getting all excited on the etymology of honeymoons to Colin yelling "HEY, you're going to have sex!"
Twas I who was the editor! Thank you! 😁
And you couldn't procure any flagons or goblets?!
"Ancient alcohol"
" so what Dermot would drink when he was a boy "
best line of the day 😂😂😂
Yup.
I laughed out loud and startled the poor cat!
I always laugh at whoever is with Ciara because no matter what they try... I wonder if they pretend to love everything because they know she’s going to. It doesn’t matter if they hate it or love it, they’re just going to barrel through whatever taste, spice level, and texture and say “it’s great it’s great I love it” so that they won’t look bad next to Ireland’s most positive person. I love this channel.
"I imagine its one that gets you real drunk. I imagine you just drink it real easy, and it all hits you, and suddenly you are invading another country"
Yeah that's mead in a nutshell
Totally agree.
Fun fact, the old word for being drunk was called being “meaded”
I've just got this mental image of everyone standing up after this video and immediately falling over as the alcohol kicks in, except for Ciara, who prances off like a gazelle.
Yas!
talking about Dracula's top shelf "Oh, this is a nice vintage. She barely screamed" lost it, lol
That was HILARIOUS
Hilarious!
Me too! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😈
Mead made with cherries actually Was called Blood Mead.
That line broke me too
Ciara hit the nail on the head when she said " Fuxx I think I prefer this over wine “ Ciara is my animal spirit! 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕
Always sucks when the video ends. Colin always delivering with the puns and Ciara ALWAYS loving everything everyone else doesn’t care for haha.
This was LITERALLY the BEST shoot ever! Think this has been by fave video to date - a bold but true statement! 🙌 🙌 🙌
Honestly gal, we were living our best lives from start to finish 😂💃🏻💕
That's because you and Ciara are fantastic together!
Ciara: I’m gonna go in with a 10! I’m doing a Martin here.... 😂😂😂
There are some really good varieties out there and it is easy to make yourself.. although maybe you don't need 30 gallons of it like I have aging now..
You and Sharpson are gonna be meadaholics. Prediction. And that's not a bad thing. Lol
I love when our two Queens of Glamour are together in a shoot. And they were the only ones singing the praises of mead to the high heavens. Well done, ladies.
"So what Dermott would drink when he was a boy?" I'm dead
Such a great line
I attended a medieval outdoor dinner where everything was authentic. They served the food on half a bread loaf and there was no silverware. The best part was when they poured the mead! I've been hooked ever since!
When I first tasted mead I immediately thought, "I now understand why the Vikings thought heaven was full of this stuff!" It was a very good buzz, that night.
I've tasted good and bad mead. Good mead is amazing. Bad mead is just bad, but when you get the really good stuff it IS like heaven.
I lost it when Damon said "when Dermot was a little boy?" and smashed that like button🤣
Love you, bro!
same lol
I thought he said "like a German would drink when he was a little boy"... This is waaay funnier now!
Hit the like button BEFORE the video even starts! You know it’s going to be good...
You're 80s style blouses are giving me all the feels!
Ciara would be so much fun to hang with! She's poetic, funny finds the good in most things and can hold her own in the clubs and pubs. #TeamCiara

~The Ladies of Mead
You can always tell when Colin is starting to get buzzed or trashed simply by watching around his nose. The brighter the red the more hammered he is.
"You're going to try something today, that you've never tried before. In an area you're interested, that's also Irish and also delicious." Sounds like Ciara . Much love, Irish Goddess....
Ciara is an absolute baller, but let me also put in a good word for Damon. If Ciara is sexiness and culture incarnate, Damon is the embodiment of cozy and clever. I have a feeling their offspring could rule the world.
I may not have liked the mead but I really enjoyed Laura transporting me to a fun girl's night out. 💃
The two of you were cracking me up. Her saying, " I think I killed him " was great. lol
You have turned into my uncle and it's very disturbing since he started shaving this year for the first time since 1996... You shall hereby be refered to as Uncle Colin!

Okay the two ladies side by side the colors they wore and their looks anyone else get a summer queen winter queen faye court vibes
....except that Ciara it's much more pleasant than Queen Mab [The Dresden Files].
@@KoshN Another TDF fan in the wilds! The book about the faerie courts (the 4th one I think) was the best one.
Chalk me up as a 3rd TDF fan 🙌🏻 and Queen Mab isn't so bad, she's just fulfilling her role. Much better than Maeve IMO
@@eugenelim1436 Well, Maeve was nuts 🤪
@@KoshN tbf she was more possessed than nuts. Also far from sane though 😂
“This is a nice vintage, she barely screamed” I cackled 😂😂😂😂
He had some great lines on this shoot
@Ciara there has been pottery dating back to early Egypt that has the recipe for mead. I have been a long time Mead drinking since my early 20's. I had a friend in the US Army that home-brewed his own brand with a hint of cinnamon. Mead has a big following here in America due to it being easy to brew. It was the Norse and Danes that brought mead to most of the world.
Ciara and Eadaoin are rivaling Marmot for the best pair of TRYers. They compliment each other so well.
"Marmot". Brilliant.
"Imagine you just drink it real easy, and then it all hits you. And suddenly you're invading another country"
I loved that line!!
I think that describes the history in most places.
Vikings. The OG gangsters. They get wrecked, hop in a longboat, do a drive by into your hood, hop out, kick the crap out of you, take all your shit, head back home amped, drink some more and rap battle each other. Mead: The starting point for all your best bad decisions.
.. or neighborhood 👾
That's pretty much exactly how mead works
Make my own mead. It's super simple to do and is extremely easy to alter the flavor from batch to batch.
"all the crevices of Irish culture". . . God bless ya, Ciara; and your contributions to language
From mead to you, had a lovely time drinking this honey booze with Nicole. Hopefully one day Colin will learn how to drink wine like a man.
😂😅😆🙂😐🙁☹️😥😢😭
Don't think you should've called her a tart, though. 7:41
Is it gay to drink wine?
I love the term ViQueen, thank you for coming up with that!
and the right cup to drink mead from would be the skull of your enemy.
That's why the Danes still say SKOL when toasting.
Or in his case... whine.
As a mead maker, it's always fun to see people discover this amazing elixir. One of the things I've discovered in my mead making journey is that using wine yeasts always seems to leave an astringent taste in the brew. Mead made with ale yeast is a whole different animal. I can't brew it fast enough to keep up with the demands of my friends and colleagues. Especially my Jamaica (Hibiscus) Mead. If any of the Try Channel crew is ever in San Diego, I'd be happy to show you what great mead tastes like. I've always got some on tap.
I have 2 gallons of my first attempt at making mead racked in the closet right now. I used champagne yeast for the higher ABV. What difference would you say ale yeast gives it? I'm in SoCal as well.
Following this to increase understanding for my future mead making efforts. I have all the stuff but I haven't started yet.
I’m on the East Coast and friends look at me like I’m nuts when they see the fermenters in my Den! Love it!
Also following, I’ve been making mead for a while but never tried ale yeast. What kind of differences do you notice?
I love the pursuit of knowledge.
I was waiting for someone to say they were drinking "a dazzling oak matured mead that has hints of cherry and licorice" just as long its not laced with poison....lol
"Are we gonna get pregnant" "I fucking hope not" lol
That was fantastic
Of course Ciara doesn't usually like sweet and floral booze. She's too busy drinking fuel additives, and paint stripper, and carbolic acid.
🤣
carbolic acid bruh wtf😂😅🤣
"Try babies" is the literally best thing I've heard in years.
Next video- Irish people try immaculate conception 🍷👶🏻
Irish people try an amatuer porn shoot?
Test tube babies but the test tubes were bottles of mead……
I love the culture in the history of Ireland that was awesome
Oh wow... the gent that Ciara O'Doherty weds would have to be the happiest man on the planet. Natural beauty and personality appear to be off the scales!
Ciara is so enchanting when she's excited about alcohol, she's so funny and sweet. Truly wonderful lady to watch
enchanting is a great word. Very accurate.
She’s like a little alcoholic Disney princess 🤗

Colin and Laura cracked me.up in this one!!
I think that bunratty mead is what they served at medieval times but i haven't been able to find it until now. It's much better than the overly sweet varieties you'd typically find in most stores
Bunratty is good, but historically the overly sweet varieties are probably more like the real thing. Mead is made out of honey after all.
@@Primal478 all wine starts incredibly sweet though so I'm not sure we can assume that
@@aron137 You could definetely be right about that. I am by no means an expert on the subject of medieval brewing. I've "researched" a bit more and found out there are a lot more varieties of mead out there than I thought.
Find someone who looks at you the way Ciara and Eadaoin look at mead.
I would far rather find some mead.
Ciara showing us that she has no issue drinking anything and calling it lovely.
i love mead .. my ex's roommtate made his own and when it was done he invited 2 of his mates whom had made mead as well and we ate leg of lamb and all in all had a viking feast listening to scandinavian metal .. good times
Laura Gough is my new favorite Try Channel human being person.

Oh Ciara... I open a bottle at brunch and day drink it till it's empty. It's a fantastic day drinking option.
Colin, All I heard in Damon's "I want to feel like Thor," bit was a future ad for 'Irish People Try Aquavit/Akvavit.'

Eadaoin is absolutely lovely.A joy to watch.
I wasn't going to watch this video but Eadaoin and Ciara mead me do it.
The General aka Ciara showcasing as always she's a boss
I brew my own and carbonate it. On tap in my kegerator next to the Irish Stout. (It's dead easy to make. Just mix 2lb honey per one gallon water and drop in yeast, mangrove jack M05 is my go to. Leave it in a glass jug under an airlock in the dark at room temp, it's fun to watch the bubbles. The longer you go the higher alcohol and less sweet. I do 2 months, but 2 weeks will be sweet, 6 months very dry. Alcohol potential is about 8% with this ratio. Drink.)
I poured myself a glass of my first home-made mead for this, It's luvely.
Laura is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. The reactions are amazing.
As a mead drinker and home brew producer of mead, I'm so pleased that TRY has finally touched on mead, but let me just say, you haven't even scratched the surface yet.
Great shoot.
I live in San Antonio TX. and Bunratty mead (the monk one) has been my fav for years. To see you guys finally drink it is amazing!!!!
so we were in Palisade, Colorado..doing a winery craw..and lo and behold..we stumbled upon a Meadry !! She and I had never had the Mead..so we did the 10 flight "taster" tray..10 shots of different Mead that they made at this Meadry !!..We finished the tasting..recovered sufficently to get to the counter and buy 12 bottles of their Mead!! Best day ever !..as I remember it...
LOL Ciara realizes she buzzed at the end of "....Since the beginning of time"
The music makes me feel like I'm on a 2D quest for a mythical sword to save a princess.
For the gentleman asking to drink like Thor, you should be drinking Craft Mead. Its a variation on traditional mead where the ABV is much lower, and it is lightly carbonated. It drinks more like a light beer. There are a couple of meaderies here in the US that make it. Pour it in to a drinking horn and drink to Valhalla!!
I love this channel. Almost all of the TRYers are people I'd love to hang out and have a beer with, Or whatever the coctail of the night might be. I hope they all stick around for a long time.
"but its a bit whiny.... like colin".
colin:😧
😂😂😭😭😭💀💀💀💀 *died
First time having Mead was at a renaissance fair. The vendor was into his role and kept telling me to slurp it. I'd take a sip and he'd bark out, " That's not a slurp!" refill it and tell me to do it again. This went on for 5 glasses worth before he let me go. The fella behind me tried to get the free ones, but the guy said, "Next!" lol

I’ve been homebrewing for close to 30 years, and I attempted to make mead once, many years ago.
It tasted like lighter fluid. It was awful. So most of it wasn’t consumed. But for some reason I didn’t get rid of it. About 6-10 bottles sat unnoticed for about 15 years. I’d forgotten all about it. Then I found it again, and cracked one open.
It was INCREDIBLE! So smooth and good! You’ve heard the expression “age like a fine wine”. This goes double for mead. I really need to make it again.
I love it how every one is like “ holy crap” gagging lol and homegirl in blue is all “ hey this is amazing “ lovely” lol
Everyone was soooo brilliant in this video. Colin, Laura, Eadaoin, Ciara, Nicole, and Damon (Sean in the background) thank you for making my day!!!

Historically, every continent occupied by ancient man has a version of mead.
Well, the Mongols thing was fermented mares milk. Would totally try it
The first time I had Ethiopian Tej, I was head over heels in love.
LOL the point where Laura and Colin realize Ciara's secret to enjoying just about everything - SAVOR don't just chug!
There’s a Meadery here in Washington called Ethereal Meads that’s got an *incredible* spiced apple mead. I highly recommend it for mead lovers

The weird part with mead for me was the opposite hangover, where you wake up feeling ridiculously good. I mean, if you go far enough, you'll get a cider hangover and reassess you whole f-ing life. But on a normal bender, you wake up refreshed and wanting more mead. My experience, anyway.
Same here, during winter I drink bottle of mead every weekend. Never had hangover and I had great sleep.
