Thank you for this video, lots of info about Ertiga Hybrid. Since Suzuki gives 5 years warranty on the battery, then it has taken into consideration the fact that we're in a tropical climate, and our summer is really hot and humid here. Normal lead-acid batteries here only last for over a year or so. The Li-Ion battery is housed inside the car's cabin. And if the car is parked outside, basking in the sun, the cabin temp can reach 45 to 50 deg. C. This might shorten the estimated life of the Li-Ion battery of its hybrid system. So even if the first 5 years is free-replacement, we still have to see what happens after that.
Suzuki ertiga is 1 of my choice in terms of family used and for my small business. This video helps me to decide that this is the 1 to buy. Thanks for sharing sir. Godbless
I am an owner of the 2020 ertiga. And my main concern is the quality of its build... a lot of things are rattling inside the cabin, the sidings, head unit, and pillar plastic covers. I hope this is fixed in these new models.
If you are still in warranty please bring it to a nearby suzuki dealer. They will resolve that issue for you. For a 3 year old ertiga rattling noises are too early. unless you drive your vehicle in really bad roads all the time.
I like how you phrase your analogy 😁 and glad to have found your channel. You answered my questions that I have never heard from other reviewers who have reviewed this hybrid car.
When it comes to fuel comsumption, i have here my ertiga GA Mt 2022 averaging 12.7 km/l in city drive and 17.9 to 23 km/l in highway driving. Hopefully these hybrids save fuel consumption more than the non hybrid, because if its not, then ill pass with these hybrids.
i think the main issue here is the battery. after 5yrs. Most of the buyers want to resale there cars and get a new one. most owners will sell theie car more than 5yrs. since replacing battery will cost 150k...arrg... nice video sir very informative. Please also do vids on how suzuki do maintenance on hybrid especially the battery...tnx

Thanks for the video. I am choosing between the Ertiga Hybrid and the Nissan Kicks e-Power. But applying your boss-assistant analogy, in the Nissan Kicks, the boss is the electric motor and the internal combustion engine is just the cook feeding the boss. Haha. If the boss dies, the cook is out of a job. But seriously, my thinking is since Suzuki is owned by Maruti, I think (only an assumption) they must build tough vehicles to be able to handle the roads in India which is similar to ours.
I have considered buying the ertiga hybrid. Already visited the showroom but my wife was not impressed with the looks. Due to the Basic interior and exterior it did not go my way. Although for me it was okay.
Hope this get's traction. On the media event where they have some 80km drive fuel run from Kawit to Laguna, the top fuel economy was around 26km per ltr.. But what I don't get is why those invited didn't post their vlog's and only auto deal did.
That is a question i am wondering about also. I hope more media outlets and a DOE fuel test will come out soon. But as an Ertiga owner myself, i am confident that the new hybrid model has better fuel economy than my 2017 model.
I saw another video with regards to the same event. It's not Autodeal, I think it's Top Gear? On that video the consumption is 17km/liter. But they said that they drove as normal as possible to get the least km/l figure. And they did mention on that video that somebody got 26kpl.
@@edwin_ac i did not see that video but there is another article posted by Philkotse. Check out my new video where i answer 5 more questions about the ertiga.
Your suspicion about this car's mild hybrid power-plant is founded. It doesn't make sense to me either. The Indian govt actually issued a showcause notice to maruti suzuki over it. For me a mild hybrid has to have its ICE paired to a direct drive CVT which eliminates the torque converter from the drivetrain and leaves it to the ISG to handle stalling speeds. Pretty much like Suzuki's R06a powerplant. Anything else is taxation ploy with no real efficiency gains. This vehicle could soon get Toyota's groundbreaking 1.5 liter, 3 cylinder full hybrid power-plant though.

hello sir, i've been considering getting the Ertiga Hybrid as one of my choices along with Xpander GLS and BR-V V. i actually don't care or mind about the misleading Hybrid system since i like the Ertiga for its value even before they started selling the Hybrid versions. but in the long run, magiging nuisance ba yung 12V battery should it break down and wala kaming plans to replace it just in case? will the car still behave the same? thankyou
I am an Suzuki Eritiga Hybrid shopper. A note on the batteries. Yes there is a 5 year warranty great. IMO the battery is unlikely to fail. But the battery may lose charge capacity and the owner would be unlikely to notice. And Suzuki I doubt, would replace a battery that's lost 5-10% of even more of it's capacity. 5 years and greater out there may be aftermarket batteries at a lesser cost. I'd be interested to know aprox. how much torque is contributed to standing start acceleration by the hybrid system? People IMO should embrace Hybrid tech in their vehicle purchases.
Hi, new owner ako ng hybrid ertiga.
I don't know how you get fuel consumption figures of 18 to 24 KM/l as I have just bought a new Hybrid Ertiga and I live in a country area and the best I can get is 13.7KM/l out of mine. A bit disappointing as I did expect better but maybe as the engine settles in I will get a better range. My Hybrid performs well and really gives a good kick when accelerating to pass but this car does have a few faults. My biggest gripe is the Infotainment system tied with the push button start and ACC. I am used to using a key start and ACC which when you switch off the engine you can just click it back to ACC to keep your radio/music going however with the push button system once you push the button to stop the engine everything goes off which is annoying especially if you are using bluetooth as you then have to go from the start to get your music back. I also don't like the stop/start engine system especially in stop start traffic where you are moving slowly and stopping a lot. The engine keeps stopping and starting every few feet which is annoying so now I deselect it and drive the normal way. Another fault is that there is no night mirror on the rear vision mirror inside so that if headlights behind are blinding you at night you can't click the mirror to move the mirror down and this is the first modern car I have seen without this type of mirror which has been in cars for many years.
Yes the autostart/stop feature is pretty annoying. As for the consumption figures we got those from 3 articles posted by 3 different autojournalists and a report from our department of energy here in the philippines. I posted a link to one of the articles in video description of you want to know how they did it.
Thank you for your honest feedback about your ertiga hybrid sir. Is it performing better fuel economy now? Ill be waiting for your response please, planning to get 1 for grabcar use.
Just so to add. Toyota Hybrid has been being used by Dubai Taxi for the past 8 years prior to being released for commerical use internationally. IGNORANCE and FEAR of NOTHING is just the issue. So many Filipinos use cheap mekaniko and has ZERO-Know how in Hybrid thus the bad taste also comes from. We are indeed a backward thinking country.
Did u mean sir. if the battery hybrid is not working after 5 years its a free of charge to replace? and if also another 5 years it is free also in the suzuki brnch were we get the unit?
Why are people not buying it? Then fund a information campaign, a vlogger to review the ertiga in real life scenarios. What happens when the battery conks out? (NOBODY is showing what happens in real life. we won't believe in sales people word alone sorry....) 2. you were saying below, lets hope after 5 years the battery prices go down. should we also pray that suzuki will offer that battery in 5 years? 10 years? SORRY I'm not taking that risk for 1.2M i know this is probably against suzuki's strategy but why not go the route of don't worry in 5 years time any 12v Lithium battery with a decent BMS will work on the Ertiga? that's more re-assuring to the customer. Because if that battery or that ertiga has some kind of software or circuit that won't allow 3rd party lithium batteries to be installed. FORGET ABOUT IT. RED FLAG right there.
Can you also do a review about Suzuki XL7? And I notice you have Jimny too out there it would be great to review that baby rough roader too. Great review by the way !

I mentioned the answers in the video. LI-ON Batteries are under warranty and if anything happens within that period, suzuki is obliged to replace them free of charge. As of now these batteries cost 130k if you replace them yourself. There are negotiations to import these batteries at a lower tax rate making them cheaper to buy in the near future. India and thailand currently have these batteries and cost 30k only in their area. But then again, you are buying a brand new vehicle which has warranties. New hybrid cars from other brands are coming out in the Philippines. Does that mean they'll also be exempted from the Coding System in Manila? What makes Ertiga Hybrid coding exempted? What are the criteria that made it exempted?
how can u say that there won’t be issues with the maintenance of the ertiga hybrid when it only entered the market? we can’t say for sure unless we are years already into this ertiga hybrid. right?
The K15B engine in the ertiga has been around since 2018 and has proven to be reliable and easy to maintain. As for the hybrid system providing extra power to the engine, i have my confidence on the engineers who designed it.
Can the hybrid assist be disabled and can the car still running without it if the owner had no future plans to buy or replace or fixed the hybrid assist?
Good question regarding disabling the hybrid assist. Will get back to you on that. Yes, you can still drive your car normally even if the hybrid assist no longer works.
@@mikyjordan none was noted and it was discussed extensively in our product training. However, i would like to see this personally if ever something like this happens and make a video about it.
that hybrid ertiga is good in performance, but still, my suzuki dzire's fuel consumption in mixed driving is 21km/l, hiway 26km/l on a 40 km stretch. I'm from Mindanao where there is traffic and mostly uphill roads and do eco driving most of the time. Suzuki cars are famous for its fuel efficiency, go suzuki ertiga. BTW, I do the computation by full tank method.
What battery is used to start the petrol engine, because there was this RUclipsr who made a review about the Ertiga high breed saying that the battery under the hood is no longer used to start the engine, it's only used now for lights and infotainment is that true sir? Is the lithium battery under the driver seat only for the high breed motor?
The 12v battery is still used to start up the engine. In fact, if the the hybrid system goes kaput, the ertiga will still turn on and run like a normal car.
1. what if the lion dies during transit, do you have free roadside assistance for battery replacement? 2. what if the battery dies 2 or more times in 5 years, will you replace the battery all over again till your warranty expires? 3. can i convert this back to a regular ertiga should i decide in the future that i wont the hybrid system anymore, or worse inavailability of part say 15 years after 4. what would be the expected resale value of the car? thanks. hope you answer
and one thing, will the system warn me if i should replace the battery immediately? The battery is really the culprit here, because if Im in the remote areas of the Philippines, I will worry.
To answer your questions 1. Depending on the dealer and the situation. If its a warranty related then usually its free. But the L-ion battery dying or malfunctioning does not affect the ertiga's ability to function normally. 2. Yes. Unless if negligence is the cause, tampering or improper maintenance, then warranty will not be honored. 3. Yes. The ertiga will function like a non hybrid vehicle. 4. Rules of vehicle depreciation apply.
thank you so much sir, very informative. i'm planning to buy next year 2024. it's for my wife. i would like to enroll her to a driving school. would you advise me to enroll her or buy directly an automatic. i need your professional opinion. by the way i just like and subcribed to your channel. God bless and make more informative videos.
Thank you for finding this helpful. IMO enroll her in a driving school and let her drive your car for awhile. Giving a brand new car to a new driver will only result in damages that you do not want. Get a new a car once you are confident in her driving skills.
150k fior the lithium ion alone? Wow! That's steep. What's the C-rate for that battery? Wow, just so much expensive.. I can buy a 10KWhr 48V lifeP04 for 120KPhp... Not a lithium-ion but what's the difference? C rate and power density.
Your concern is understandable. But the hybrid system, including the battery has a 5 year warranty and expected life of 7-10 years. By the time the warranty is over for sure there are more affordable replacement units.
Lets hope that after 5 years more cheaper batteries will be out by then. Because the savings in better fuel economy would just be negated by the cost of replacing the battery and the buyer would feel like a fool.
@@TheManoy66 and that is maybe one of the reasons people are not buying it. Some of us Techies knows a 150k php battery replacement is insane. At the current Lithium battery prices around 150USD/kwh... 150k should equate to a 18kwh of battery storage. I read that the ertiga uses a 12V for its lithium meaning the battery theoretically should be 1500AH which is insane... even if i say 50% mark up... 12v 750AH - nope... i bet around a 12v 100AH lithium battery is placed inside that and its priced sooo high. Its soo hard to find details on the lithium battery of that ertiga. Lack of TRANSPARENCY.
As much as possible avoid floods and bad roads. An MPV is not meant for that type of road conditions. But if there is no choice, the ertiga has bigger ground clearance and more water wading capacity than a sedan or hatchback.
if the price of these are 800K to 1M and the cost of full charge is only 2,500 but can cover 500miles then it's a win for the consumers...but if not then let's go to 2nd hand diesel cars.
Its not full electric. It still has a gasoline engine as its main powerplant. The electric motor is there to assist it during acceleration and recharges itself during deceleration.
May I ask, does the Ertiga hybrid still has a starter in its engine? You mentioned that if the hybrid battery malfunctioned, the Ertiga hybrid will still run. I'm assuming it still has a starter. On another video, I believe, Toyota Corolla Cross does not have a starter, thus, in case its hybrid battery goes down, you cannot use the car.
I removed my comment about the price of battery ahha now that I heard it from you 150k is too mucb toyota crown battery is around 80-100k , I know because my mom just change their. I thought it was a little lower since the crown is a luxury car and ertiga is not. Why 150k hahah
Electric motor will assist the engine in acceleration up to 4500 rpm. Once you reach speeds of 40 kph above the electric motor cuts off and lets the gasoline engine do its work. Upon deceleration, the electric motor charges battery for the hybrid system.
I went to a dealer here in Manila and they said that rhe lithium batt is good for the aircon, lights and radio inside the car. It does not have anything to do with the engine at all. They said that once your engine turns off during traffic when you step on the brakes, the aircon, radio, etc inside works. And that is the job of the battery. That is how it was explained to me.
@@TheManoy66 so its like toyota cross hybrid, the batt runs below 40 and beyond that its gasoline. The engine of the ertiga turns off automatically when you step on the brakes when you stop. And when release engine auto starts..will it affect the engine if ever during drive in the city and its traffic. The engine will keep on turning off and on.

Sir is there any bad effects in the engine if the hybrid doesn't work
@@mikyjordan none was noted and it was discussed extensively in our product training.
Can this battery be upgraded?
1. what if the lion dies during transit, do you have free roadside assistance for battery replacement?
2. what if the battery dies 2 or more times in 5 years, will you replace the battery all over again till your warranty expires?
3. can i convert this back to a regular ertiga should i decide in the future that i wont the hybrid system anymore, or worse inavailability of part say 15 years after
4. what would be the expected resale value of the car?
thanks. hope you answer
and one thing, will the system warn me if i should replace the battery immediately?
The battery is really the culprit here, because if Im in the remote areas of the Philippines, I will worry.
To answer your questions
For me buying a hybrid is better than buying an ICE car as of 2023.
kaso mahal lang tlga for 1.3M
If 800-1M lang, baka pwede na. 👍
If you think about it, 1.2m is not that bad for a 7 seater hybrid. And in fact, the ertiga is the cheapest hybrid in tje market today. 😉
My pref car to buy this oct
Suzuki ertiga hybrid vs xl7 nmn sir
Nice idea 👍
Good analogy ,manoy
thank you so much sir, very informative. i'm planning to buy next year 2024. it's for my wife. i would like to enroll her to a driving school. would you advise me to enroll her or buy directly an automatic. i need your professional opinion. by the way i just like and subcribed to your channel. God bless and make more informative videos.
Thank you for finding this helpful. IMO enroll her in a driving school and let her drive your car for awhile. Giving a brand new car to a new driver will only result in damages that you do not want. Get a new a car once you are confident in her driving skills.
How come in India the replacement lithium-ion bat costs 55,000 Rupees (37k Php) but you say here it costs 150k?
That is a very good question that i wonder about also. Never got a response from our superiors regarding that.
tax maybe
my question is after 5 years if i need to buy a new battery from susuki is it have also a 5 year warranty 🤔
Very good question. Will get back to you on that.
@@TheManoy66 update on this pls. Im curious too. Thanks
mostly if you buy new replacement battery only 1 year deal warranty.
How much price for a Jimny?
As of today the jimny GLX Automatic is at 1.390M in PhP
what's the engine of jimny?
The current jimny is powered by the same K15B engine in Ertiga, XL7 and Carry. It does not have the hybrid assist though.
Subscribed. I really like the way you explain about this car.
Thank you 💵
150k fior the lithium ion alone?
Lack of TRANSPARENCY.
same hp and torque output like before mild hybrid is a scam it doesnt help the car performance in anyway.
Mild hybrid is not coding exempted.
good informative video. but pls stop shaking the camera. i got dizzy lol
😆😆😆 sorry can't afford a gimbal or fancy cam as of now. Thank you for watching though. 👍
Does your Boss knows about this video😊
Is the XL7 Hybrid coming soon?
No official announcement from Suzuki as of now.
How does it fair in floods and bad roads?
As much as possible avoid floods and bad roads. An MPV is not meant for that type of road conditions. But if there is no choice, the ertiga has bigger ground clearance and more water wading capacity than a sedan or hatchback.
XL7 next project
if the price of these are 800K to 1M and the cost of full charge is only 2,500 but can cover 500miles then it's a win for the consumers...but if not then let's go to 2nd hand diesel cars.
Yes it still has a starter motor. 👍

I want these who do I need to talk to
I recommend you call your nearest suzuki dealership.
@@TheManoy66 where are you located
You discuss everything what people should know about it. Hat off for you bruddah 😊
not much real world data if the ISG is really worth it.
Only time will tell but hybrid vehicle tech has been around for a long time, and has been proven to improve fuel economy.
I removed my comment about the price of battery ahha now that I heard it from you 150k is too mucb toyota crown battery is around 80-100k , I know because my mom just change their.
I thought it was a little lower since the crown is a luxury car and ertiga is not.
Why 150k hahah
Its expensive now but give it 5 more years and those replacement hybrid batteries will be cheaper by then.
That battery costs 37k in India it seems.
At what speed does the battery kick in?
@@bea168TOP i guess the salesperson you were talking to was not listening during the product training.
@@bea168TOP you can actually turn off the start stop feature
The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is the worst car for me based on my experience .
stop moving your cam too much. nakakahilo
It's a 7 seater with a weak arse engine, I'll pass.
Bet that you dont have a suzuki car..
Very informative!👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This convinced me to NOT buy one...
