The 2024 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid has now launched in the Philippines, and it brings with it the same changes as the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid. In this Filipino car review, we take a tour of the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid to see what sort of changes we can expect. The 2024 Suzuki XL7 hybrid only gets an updated front fascia, a hybrid badge at the rear, and the mild hybrid system. The mild hybrid system of the 2024 Suzuki XL7 hybrid is the same as the Suzuki Ertiga hybrid, which means it does not qualify for number coding exemption. The 2024 Suzuki XL7 hybrid price is also a little bit higher than before, but it is still at the same price as the other MPVs in the segment, like the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, the Toyota Veloz, and the Honda BRV RS. The 2024 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid does not get a lot of safety features though, since the 2024 Suzuki XL7 hybrid still relies on the current platform of simplicity and easy operation.

As xl7 owner for 4years now, Im happy with its fuel efficiency. In the last 5k mileage my average consumption is 10.8km/L of city driving. I don't know why they made it mild hybrid instead of full hybrid since it's already fuel efficient. I prefer if they released a turbo version for more torque and 5 or 6 speed AT.

I am in process of buying the 2023 XL7 (not hybrid) in Jamaica from Stewart's Auto. My mechanic says only the xl7 hybrid will be manufactured globally going forward.How will I get parts to service my XL7 which is not hybrid in future four (4) years down the road?

Suzuki used to be the bang for the buck ride. The Ertiga when it was launched was below 800k which made it a top performer in terms of price to performance. but for 1.2M that's a very crowded place to be in the market. There are way spec'd up units than this. Why would you get this if you can get the Territory, Stargazer, Tiggo 7 pro etc for a little bit more. even if it's 100k more that's less 1700 additional monthly if you get it for 60 months.
the downside of Suzuki is that the safety ratings are very low compared to Toyota's and Honda's. Safety is top priority.
Not much difference with the Ertiga Hybrid. The bigger wheels means it would waste more fuel compared to the Ertiga Hybrid.

Suzuki Philippines finally released a new car (the 5 door Jimny doesnt count, any market that has the Jimny is practically mandated to sell the 5 door). The mild hybrid here is the mildest of hybrids that really doesnt do anything especially since this car is already efficient. The only major draw this car has for me over the non hybrid is the fact it gets cruise control, for that id rather get the Xpander Cross since it looks more aggressive than this and you get slightly more cabin storage.
Suzuki safety ratings are low, they seem to have no priority on that area. I'm not sure with Mitsubishi though, but I don't think it is as reliable as Suzuki's nowadays.
Minimal benefit and you get an added potential headache if the mild hybrid fails or needs a new battery.
4 speed AT why?
avanza G 2023, 13-14km/L city drive stock 16 mags. Sa tingin ko mabigat ang XL7 dahil sa roof rail, rubber guard, at 17 mags kaya malakas sa gas.

@@raulgarduno301 avanza curb weight=1140 kg XL7 curb weight = 1160 to 1180 kg ibig sabihin mga 20 to 40kg ang added weight. maliit lang na factor sa fuel consumption. Ang malaking factor sa fuel consumption kasi engine/transmission sa toyota IDLE 0.5 to 0.6 RPM at kapag running 2000 RPM as compare sa XL7 mataas RPM add mo pa kung avanza more gear sa speed transmission vs sa 4 speed. Additional factor is aircon sa toyota in 5 minutes circulated na aircon at #1 lang kaya na palamigin 1st and 2nd row seat. May factor din sa fuel consumption yung mags at hangin. Kapag malaki mags mabagal takbo need more fuel sa acceleration na try ko 14,15,16,at 17 inches mags. Kapag matigas naman gulong example 32 psi mas better milage kesa kapag malabot ex.26 psi. Sa transmission oil naman na try ko ordinary, semi at fully synthetic at yung fully synthethic konti gas mabilis takbo ng sasakyan. Na try ko din different type of gas petron shell caltex,etc.akala ko yung petron 90 octane as matipid na gas it turns out matagal masunog si gas mabagal speed at pansin ko mabilis evaporation as compare sa shell 91 octane. Yung sa tint may factor din sa fuel consumption kasi need ni aircon maintain temperature. Yung branded na tint less heat penetration as compare sa generic. Yung sa previous vios 2017 ko stock na 3m tint ko umabot 7 years ok pa at malamig pa rin aircon.

Yep, some of their models got ADAS in other countries. Unfortunately, Suzuki PH still can't do it in the PH.
From what I recall, reviews of the ertiga mild hybrid were mostly underwhelming and not a huge improvement in terms of fuel efficiency over a normal petrol engine, so there isn't much incentive to pay more for this variant. It also would have been nice if Suzuki added some modern driver assist features to justify the price increase.
OK it's just mild hybrid not a proper hybrid, but seriously Suzuki your Celerio, swift and Jimny it's overpriced compare to other brand, if people want to loan Ertiga they just went with XL7 for 100K difference, that's why XL7 was your only best selling car in the past 3 years.
Agree, overpriced. Especially the jimny and swift, our 2019 swift gl retailed for 799k in 2019 but last I checked its 972k pesos now.
Yeah overpriced. Rather get the GAC M6 base variant with lots to offer like captain's seat and good interior
How many speeds can I get with the automatic transmission?
@@lamlamlam77414 speed automatic and HP it's only 103hp. I thought the HP it's more than 110hp consider it's a mild hybrid just like Okavango they add 12hp for mild hybrid.

I recon taller driver's wouldn't benefit on telescopic steering wheels.
Think about it... If you have longer arms, why would you want the wheels closer to you?
I think taller drivers adjust their seats backwards to accommodate their long legs. Thus arms will also be adjusted

Suzuki XL7 has a magnificent apperance but the problem still posses low power, even thou they already add a battery motor and lack of speed still thesame 4 speed even a cow can still chase you

Lack of speed it intended to be a fuel efficient family car not a speed consumption that not would be called a practical family car when you intend use daily. Plus here at the Philippines you can’t top up your speed anywhere. If you want a more power car just go buy a not a build for fuel efficient just buy a car that only do a 5-6kpl mix that would you go. Just saying

Marami ba talaga 1.5 lumang engine sa japan parang iniubus nalang yata nila ang lumang 1.5 engine nila kasi ang mga bagong 1.5 engine ngayon kung hindi entegrated sa engine yon iba turbo na, naging embakan tayo ng mga lumang engine, ang ginagawa nila pinapaganda lang nila ang itsura.

Ang pangit ng sasakyan na to for 1M walang ambient light, walang electronic brake hold, no electriconic parking brake, no ambient lights. Pangit ng mga designs ng suzuki. Sobrang tipid pati sa engine ang pangit. Never to Suzuki na talaga ako.
Yan palagi pinupush nung mga may ari ng ERTIGA "MILD" HYBRID na kasama daw sila sa EVIDA law. Aawayin ka pa kahit i pakita mo sa kanila yung listahan ng mga sasakyang kasama sa EVIDA law. Shoutout din dun sa mga ahente ng Suzuki na nagsisinungaling para sabihing hybrid ang Ertiga para makabenta lang
