- Electrification is all the rave these days and Suzuki made sure to be ahead of the market by bringing in the Ertiga Hybrid. Others though, don't think it's the right time yet, like Mitsubishi that retained the combustion engine for their Xpander. With both MPVs in the same price bracket, let's see which has better value for your money.

Having ridden both I can honestly say that I prefer the Ertiga Hybrid over the Xpander in the ride quality, plus the Ertiga is already known for its fuel economy the hybrid takes that even further and is priced just right and it has one special thing over the Xpander, the Ertiga Hybrid is an actual everyday vehicle because its exempted from the number coding scheme. 😎
I'll go for the Ertiga anytime. With its fuel economy, hybrid technology and DURABILITY - SUZUKI beats mitsubishi in that crucial category.
Yep but they prefer the sit over ertigas fuel efficiency 😂 we don't mind the sit for ertiga, we can always replace it with a better one.
Being a hybrid makes the big difference. It gives you more savings in terms of gas and you are exempted from the car coding scheme. It is a very practical choice and I am glad I went for the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid.
Good choice po👍👍👍dapat na natin isipin at isagawa ang praktikal ,gusto ko rin si Ertiga Hybrid,pareho sila ng gas consumption sa Suzuki mini van ko kahit 2016 model,pero sana Lang si Suzuki Philippines ay maging mabilis na ang pag release sa mga parts na kailangan ipalit sa mga naka pag purchased na pag may nasira dahil sa aksidente.

in terms of ground clearance ang conversion nya is around 1.7 inches lang lamang ni expander, I don't think is a big factor kung ground clearance lang, since almost 2 inches lang, malaki lang pakinggan pag naka mm
I was torn between these two before. But we choose the Expander GLS. Yes the gas consumption is higher depending on you driving habit, but the overall comfort is way beyond it's price point.

Both are the best mpvs right now in the ph market. I used to be torn between the these two but ended up with ertiga in 2021 yung discrepancy kasi sa price is nasa 150k since nakuha ko lang at 903k less 70k discount nung pandemic. Sobrang sulit. Pero kahit alin sa dalawa na to panalo

simple and classic but full pack sa features and fuel efficient go for ertiga. sporty look and angas go for xpander
Xpander for reliability. In terms of comfort and refine drive lalo sa loob spacious.
if trips mo mag hybrid, opt in sa Plug in hybrid kesa sa mild.
pero if gas-powered, Xpander edges Ertiga in my opinion.
ganda ng comparison niyo sir yan din talaga sa dalawa ang pinag pipilian ko yung gusto ko talaga yung makakatipid ako sa gas yan ang isa talaga sa hinahanap ko ay yung matipid. pero ok na ok din sa expander gwapong gwapo talo lang doon sa infotainment niya talaga outdated na talaga siguro pag nag labas ng expander 2024 model siguro ma upgrade na rin nila.
We have been driving suzuki celerio for 9 years and wala kaming masasabi sa engine performance and durability. Also napaka tahimik ng cabine. The only problem we have with our decision about going with Ertiga is yung looks at accesories, no doubt ertiga wins in fuel economy pero wwla manlang nabago sa looks? Parang celerio padin yung itsura at napaka basic padin ng itsura sa loob at labas.. lalo sa loob... parang tinamad na yung R&D ng suzuki.. no doubt maganda engine nyan at matibay... because of those reasons Xpander all the way.

Ill go idol for mitsubishi product. Being an owner of mits. Xpander cross satisfied ako sa performance and comfort and when it comes to fuel eficiency its good.

Good comparo. Not the most comprehensive, but commendable enough. Sana lang lahat ng tests na ginawa with both vehicles were the very same with each other. May konting discrepancies kasi especially with fuel efficiency figures.
Most points presented were agreeable, tho some things to also ponder. The Xpander already had cruise control since its launch in the local market back in 2018, in ALL variants until now unlike the competition which only started putting such features a year of two ago, and ONLY in top-spec variants. Also, the Ertiga was already more fuel efficient since the non Hybrid models given the gear ratios of its 4AT is tuned more for fuel efficiency compared to the Xpander's more punchy response for better torque off the line (na natapatan na ngayon due to the mild hybrid motor, which is the 2nd and last benefit apart from fuel efficiency). With that said, an Xpander in GLX & GLS trim as tested, can go 19km/l max even while running 80-90 km/l given cruise control is utilized but in normal city conditions, running within 25-30km/h avg speed usually results 10-12km/l just to give a much precise comparison vs the given figure for the Ertiga hybrid on similar city scenarios.
Another thing, as much as idol Stanley pointed out that the Xpander's 3rd row feels more comfortable, it would've been better if the 2nd row was slided halfway forward ng hindi sana ipit legroom niya haha. Just halfway forward, it can already fit people of my size (5'8) more comfortably and still fit the same size sa 2nd row with more than enough space. Di ko din pansin yung difference sa ease of entry for both vehicles, mataas ground clearance ng MItsubishi but still doesn't need a stepboard at all. Kahit mga bata daling dali sumakay pa din.
Lastly, as much as di talaga ideal for quick overtaking ang subcompact MPV's (yes, including the crowd-fave "most-powerful" BRV na natalo pa ng Mitsubishi sa 0-60km/h test ng TGP), turning off overdrive somehow makes overtaking more doable with these 4AT MPV's (coming from someone who drives a 4AT vehicle too, pero di MPV hehe).
And sana mas may clear and justifiable reasons yung pag pili ni idols Stanley at Vincent in the end on which will be their pick. 😊
Been using my ertiga non hybrid gen 2 ver. For so many times we went home ilocos norte, overtaking of ertiga is just like a vtec kicks in. Im also wondering how it happened. Ang galing

Ertiga compete in the likes of Avanza (Budget Economy segment) meanwhile Xpander compete against Veloz, BRV, Stargazer, and XL7.
Both are good. Kung budget meal ka go for Ertiga pero kung kaya mag shell out pa go for Xpander (premium looks inside and out)
BTW sobra haba niyo mag comparo. Make it 20mins kapag comparo. May umay factor na kapag sobrang haba. Ayun lang naman. Nice review.

Both MPVs are good. XPander is more like a premium style MPV, while Ertiga Hybrid is like a budget-premium hybrid MPV. Ertiga can only beat the Avanza in terms of specs with an affordable price.
MPVs featured here are far from premium, the focus for these MPVs is offering a economical package
The other guy is an expander enthusiast...porma talga gustu nya..d nya binaggit ang advantage ng no coding for mid/ hybrid cars....thats the latest one we can get from the law ...free from coding....😮😮😮😮😮

Suzuki pulled out of North America a while back due to very poor sales. Meantime, Mitsubishi is beating Toyota on PHEV sales (Outlander vs RAV-4 Prime). Wishing they bring the Mitsubishi ASX (European version) to the Philippines
What else would you ask for, Hybrid at the price of 1.150m? Id choose ERTIGA. Hybrid is the next big thing.

We bought Suzuki Ertiga last Dec. when I go home for a vacation. One thing I like about it, it’s hybrid and no coding when you drive to Manila. I’ve been driving hybrid car Toyota here in CA and like it. We’re really happy with Suzuki and for me it’s affordable..
I thought the lower rear bumper in body color was a + feature, but the reviewer did not even like it 😂.
If you check top 1 ang xpander sa boung south east asia dito din sa pinas.. Alam na kung anong best choice. Mitsubishi engine. Reliable a nd Comfort

Manuals will always be more efficient than 4AT's tho hehe. A comparable Xpander GLX MT can also hit similar figures on city driving with light city conditions.

parehas lang fwd, balewala naman ang ground clearance since sa placement ng ECU talaga yan magkakatalo, kahit mga SUV minsan hindi lumulusong sa baha yan. after sales and parts na lang talaga yan magkakatalo. buti na din na walang naka CVT dyan sa dalawa. peace!

Tingin ko mas ok ang #XPANDER. Yes mild-hybrid ang #Ertiga pero that doesn't chang a fact na hindi siya kasama sa exemption pag dating sa coding scheme. So may huli pa din 😂. Bukod sa pagiging hybrid nya, for me wala na syang nilamang. When it comes to specs and everything, #MitsubishiXPANDER all the way!
