  • Break from Aphrodite's Child's 666 LP. 666 was recorded during 1970 / 71, and released in 1972. Video footage of Aphrodite's Child in Paris 1970 shows Vangelis (keyboards), Demis Roussos (bass and vocals) and Lucas Sideras, who sang on this track (drums). Silver Koulouris their amazing lead guitarist is not featured on any video.

1977, I'm 16 years old and first day working in a record shop.
The manager told me to forget the drivel on the radio and top of the pops and get ready for a musical education.
    Then he played this.
He was right, brilliant track by an underappreciated band.
    Thanks Dave, wherever you are

A musical education wouldve played the entire album. No one has done anything like (Infinity' irene Aphrodite) Shes having sex with the beast..Very dark track. My favorite (aegeon sea). Dark tracks fit the album. Apocalypse of john. The revelation 666. If the four horsemen had played collage station might of made success hit. Some people say it's dated similar to scorpians lonesome crow as if should've been released 67 or 68. Yet guitar tone is not 67. More 70 72 crust

I had a friend, Jess Tradewell. We both loved Vangelis' music, but the Aphrodite's Child album, 666, was special to us. Jess used the album to teach me about blues. Jess LOVED the blues guitar work in this album. And this song in particular, I think touched Jess. I remember the first night I brought this to his house, he was trying to pick out the chords to this song on his piano. Then he'd try to get me to learn some of the guitar solos in some songs so we could play together, but I wasn't any good at picking up this blues stuff because I was too entrenched in metal (as a guitar player), even though I loved this music. Jess is gone now, but I will always remember his kind compassionate soul and friendship. I would give about anything to hear him play Moonlight Sonata for me one more time. His rendition was my favorite out of all the others I've heard in my lifetime. And now, whenever I get this album out, I can't even listen to this song because of the wave of sadness it brings... "Goodbye... bye my friend, goodbye..."

Love it! Love it! It takes me back to 1972/73 and Radio North Sea International/Veronica whenever I hear it. Nostalgia (Dutch station) played it recently.

Hey, people, it was not Demis, it was their drummer who sang this song.

Still have the LP and 8-track, and got the CD a while back. Been listening to this since it came out (thanks to KSHE). Was something to read the history behind this album.. things got so intense that the band broke up before it was released.

    Adiós
    Adiós mi amiga, adiós
    con una mentira
    Lo olvidas y lo rompes
    Tú lo haces
    Oh, lo logras
    Tú lo haces
    Oh, lo haces
    Llorar
    En mi habitación vacía
    y lo intentamos
    olvidar y romperlo
    Vuela
    Alto
    Y luego
    Tú lo haces
    Adiós
    Adiós mi amiga, adiós
    con una mentira
    Lo olvidas y lo rompes
    Tú lo haces
    Oh, lo logras
    Tú lo haces
    Oh, lo haces
    ah, ah, ah
