Thanks Jedd! I'm a terrible student! I just steel a few bits and bobs here and there. 8) I could never find a Strat or Tele sound I liked! I built my #1 Strat from an old Clapton black body, and a Dave Gilmour pickup/pickguard setup. I don't have a #1 Tele yet, but I'm building one, Fender Custom Shop hot Tele pups, and a 'Cream Tone harness. The middle position pup switch goes to a blend pot, all the way left is rear pup, right is neck pup, and you can blend any combo of each. I've got 3 more bodies cut from nice woods, and some cool PAF type pups. We'll see where that goes. Tone Tone Tone LOL. Thanks mate!! --gary
I enjoy the hell out of trying to just jam along with players like you and Tom on your channels and I always pick something up but at my age I'm an old dog so a new trick is a tought one. Being retired and having no jamming partners is what keeps me joining guitar communities online...I appreciate it. Love your playing style Jedd...Tom is just a savant...he's from another planet. I think Tom has taught me a lot of right hand stuff as much as anything but I always pick up the odd passing chord from both y'all.
we lived there for a while when the pandemic hit. I loved Santa Cruz, we were two blocks off the point! man that was a sweet time and thats a cool surf shop!
If people want to learn Jedd they just watch your hands. And I've heard you explain theory pretty well. 7ths 9ths and sliding 6ths is theory to me and your great with all that. Glad your back posting....
wow I was the same way!! I aways thought mids were ugly as a kid/teenager... then someone said to me one day, all the tone is in the midrange and I started to become more aware of that place and what do you know! that bloke was right! haha
This is great, thanks for sharing. Loved watching you and Tom jam the other night. What an amazing time for us guitar civilians to be learning and shedding. So much to study, and so many of you pros sharing and teaching. Glad you're here.
Fantastic playing, as always. Love the shell pink Strat, and it sounds wonderful. Appreciate the cobweb buster warm up. Saved this to watch again (and again) for reference. Happy Sunday and be good to you 🤍💛
again... love the chord shape explanations/examples for reference that cut through my fog. theory intimidates my dyslexic coordination and the visual simplicity of basic chord shapes ring my bell. teaching is not so much thorough formal knowledge, which can be realized in time. it is speaking a language that bridges understanding between teacher and student. thanks for turning on a light.
Love that kind of intro! Cool rythme and the Chorus amazing . Can you show some tip to make a chorus over a basic common chord progression. In fact this kind of song is perfect.
Middle pickup on a good strat can sound like an acoustic guitar at times....I want to dump my 5 way switch for a 3 way because I only use those 3 settings as well
Thank You for this video. I've been breaking down and studying the Brett Papa "Jump Blues" video... love your style of playing, more vids/tips always appreciated.
Definitely a cool strat right there, I’m into using the middle pickup for sure. When I was starting out, for me it was just the neck pickup on a strat because I was trying to emulate my hero’s I guess. Then I realized that all positions had great use. Thanks Jedd, I’m really glad your keep’n up with these posts. They really inspire me to keep lovn and appreciating what we get to do. I know you have your hands full haha. I’m right there with you. Keepem comin.
This guitar sounds incredible, especially in your hands. I guess, because of the ten day session with vince gill you got some "gamblin" money on hand. If you got the chance, go for this guitar. I've got some experience in this business because I accumulated over 60 vintage guitars in my life. Greetings from berlin
Pickup sound preference may change and evolve like most things do. Could it also have something to do with the frequencies we can hear as we get older? Especially when some of us really affected our hearing in loud bands when we were younger, lol. Cheers Jedd
10:50 its taken me a while to like positions 2&3 on a strat and also tone rolled off- woman tone adjacent sounds too, now i can't get enough😙👌, *However always loved dire straits for example, ...just maybe tried to avoid emulating these types of super characteristic "acquired taste strat positions" for a while i guess:). cool vid man
Great playing Jedd. I’ve found that the middle pickup sound is the closest to acoustic tone IMO. Was the cream colored Strat you were playing Uncle Larry’s?
You don't have to be a great teacher or explain the theory. Most of what I've learned has been sitting in front of another player better than I, and they say "try this" or "check this out". I don't understand 70% of what Buk is laying down, but I can hear it.

a man after my own tele chopping heart! the blender really is so underrated and such a useful mod!

As a kid many moons ago I hated mids on an amp, it wasnt til I hit guitar puberty that I realized that mids are how you slide licks into the mix.
wow I was the same way!! I aways thought mids were ugly as a kid/teenager... then someone said to me one day, all the tone is in the midrange and I started to become more aware of that place and what do you know! that bloke was right! haha
On a Sunday morning stratwalk coming down. Cheers Jedd!
haha nice one!!
Thanks Jedd, you need no disclaimer man. Just happy when you upload a new vid.

I’d love a breakdown of the solo on “I’m your man”. It’s a little hard to figure out. What a great solo. Thanks man

Thanks Billy! Really appreciate it mate
Love your playing man! I hear you on the sound thing, I used to hate the bridge/middle strat position, now I love it!
Your actually quite a good teacher. Your teaching style is more of an intermediate player style. Thanks great vid. Keep on Ramblin. New Sub. 😎T
Thanks Tim!

Im trying to circle the wagons to swing it mate! I think its my fav guitar to pickup right now

I hear ya man. I think finding your own voice with those sounds is the trickiest part, at-least it is for me! Thanks for tuning in mate.
66 shell pink strat ? Whats the story on that one Jedd neat color......Great sounding guitar !
old neck (66) old parts (65) new alder body from mjt
Love it. Is that a Senn body?
mjt alder mate
Great playing Jedd. I’ve found that the middle pickup sound is the closest to acoustic tone IMO. Was the cream colored Strat you were playing Uncle Larry’s?
yeah that's a good way to describe it!. My cream Strat is an old Underwood mate
Do you use the meat of your picking fingers, or some of the nail? It doesn't look like your nails are very long. Very good soft touch either way!
yes both mate
cool lesson Jedd
what’s the used amp and the rev in this clip?
thanks
Magic amps Deluxe and an Ebooks E-verb mate
2:50 hi Jedd could you please share which Guyatone pedal helps you to get this sound? It’s incredible. Thank you. -Josh
Guyatone PS-023 Chorus/Flanger
What pickups are in that?
original 65 pickups mate
