Here is the deal. If you really want a Panther get any Black Cat. You don't have get a breed. Black Cat or Bombay they have terrible adoption rates and high euthanasia rates
I pulled my little guy out of the shelter. He's not a Bombay but looks and acts like one, he's my little Panther. 😊❤

She has beautiful green eyes too, and a short snout, which makes her look like royalty. She's a delight. 😊

Was gifted a female Bombay, seven weeks old,on my birthday a couple days ago.
Shes sassy, inquisitive, and VERY loving and clingy. Sleeps only between my fiancé
and I and had definitely filled the cat-shaped hole in my heart from my last baby leaving us to cross the bridge.
She was found, alone and abandoned on a local beach and taken in by my mom’s vet, who let my mom know she was there since she had put the word out I was looking for a kitten, and here we are. She’s beautiful and teeny but very healthy and I am absolutely in love with her.

I have the honor of being owned by a brother, and sister. Born 4 min. apart. They are 2 1/2 years old. They came into my life, at 7 months old. This is about the most accurate vid on Bombay kitties I've seen. Biscuits, (the boy), is exactly as you described. Loving, always close by, smart... And Brandy, (girl), is very much your description. More independant, and spends more time napping in her fave spot. Not far away, just not as close by, as her brother, and is DEFINITELY, a Diva. LOL! Sweet, loving cats, both. They adopted me, from the local shelter, after I lost my soul mate kitty, Midnight. She was a Chantilly/Tiffany, and the most "perfect" cat in the world. B, & B, will never take her place, but they have helped me heal, and give me a world of joy, every single day. Life would SUCK without them. 😃🥰

Actually, my Dad confessed to me that he's never like cats, either, but this male Bombay is now his new best friend. He's so talkative and affectionate and just loves to be cuddled. Awesome presentation! totally agree with your presentation of the Bombay male cat. We had such an angel of a cat for almost 16 years. Was the best cat we had. He was extremely affectionate, great companion, walked with us like a doggie without a leash, did stretching next to me on the floor without me trying to teach him. He was there just observing and then stretching 🤗😘. We were shocked to see that he was predicting rain storm when the storm was 70-80 miles away. He started growling and went to hide in the safe place in the house. Everyone in the family loved his ability to predict rain storms. He always loved to watch RUclips videos with birds and other animals. He had different vocalized meows when requested food, or to wanted to go for a walk, or water to allow him on the lap....
Was so so awesome! We miss Charlie so much.

I read that it’s common for bombay mixed kittens (part bombay part soemthing else) to have a small piece of white on their chest, bc it’s some recessive gene the bombays have. I have a kitten that i am fairly certain is part bombay. The mom looked just like one, and mine matches a lot of the traits too. She also has a black tuft on the chest but all black toes. She also has very faint tabby markings

Bombay cat should be totally black, including nose and foot pads. White hairs or pink nose/footpads could simply be a variation of a "domestic shorthair" that is black. It is possible to be a Bombay crossed with something else. Note that the "Bombay" breed description is "totally black" though I have a Pedigreed Bombay that is dark brown -- a fraction of Bombays reflect the look of a "sable" Burmese, which is the base breed used to develop the Bombay. I do note that cats are not particularly selective when mating, sow you may have a Bombay cross with a domestic short hair, as that might result in some white patches.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. My two girls came from a litter of four females and one male. The mother was feral, but socialized enough to bring her entire litter to my apartment when they were about a month old. Why she chose me to be their dad, I have no idea. Today I look at it as a gift from God. One by one, three of them returned to the street, but when I look at the two who stayed with me, my heart fills with joy. They strike the perfect ballance: independent when they want to be, and affection when they want to be. I let them choose. Life is good...

After a lifetime of Siamese (mostly Seal Point) cats, I obtained two Bombay cats about 5 years ago. Brother and sister (both neutered) from the same litter. While I've long been aware that cat personalities are, indeed, "personal" and can vary significantly from "breed characteristics" (none of my various Siamese were the same), I was puzzled at some of the differences between the male and female Bombay that allow me to live with them. This video nailed it. The male is rather laid back while the female is always just a bit "suspicious" about everything. The Bombays do seem to need much more attention than my previous cats, and I might call it "needy" at times. The two cats get along quite well (only occasional spats over the "primo" spot in my lap while watching TV in bed). They are very talkative, at times. (Weirdly, after "lights out" they (most often the female) will go to the far end of the house and "yowl" a whole bunch. I call and then they come back to the bedroom, often "talking" all the way.) Since we're retired (and home with them a lot) they do exhibit some anxiety when we go out for a couple hours -- but they're calmer if I make sure to "say goodby" before leaving. While relatively trainable, they are not as "practically smart" as most of my Siamese -- e.g. they can push a mostly closed door open that swings away (they push with their head), but have never figured out to open a door that swings toward them by grabbing with a paw -- a skill that every one of the Siamese exhibited. They are VERY sociable and enjoy when a visitor comes in to the house -- indeed the Cable Guy asked for help when they both were getting in his way when he was connecting up some new equipment. (The Siamese, in similar circumstances would observe from a "safe" distance.)

He is ver affectionate and does rub up against us a lot, but he has a lot of "spontaneous anger" so to speak. We're afraid to get him on medication, be he would have to stay on it forever apparently.
Lol our female Stella isn't a diva... she's a princess! She's literally the sweetest animal I've ever met. She's such a sweetheart and never bites, scratches, or hisses like her brother. Mungo isn't all bad and does cuddle with us at night. He likes scratches, petting, and playing. The way the anger/violence just comes out of nowhere seems like bipolar disorder. We were hoping he'd grow out of it, but were considering the medication again...

I was adopted by a wee tiny starving female Bombay, her eyes were still baby blue even. But, her coat was super glossy pure black and she just acted like she owned the place. Once her eyes changed, i knew she was special. copper around the outside fading to gold inside! The vet said that I should get her DNA tested. Inky Stinky doesn't need any test, she's just fine no matter what. Oh yeah, she's like one of those mad cap Savanah cats, mad athletic!

I think my cat is part bombay. Her mom has the funny bug looking eyes, she was found outside and gave birth as soon as they brought her inside. We’re assuming the dad is a tabby since our cat has very very very faint tabby lines. My kitty has a more “normal” shaped head and face.

Have one male and a female Bombay cat, and it's seems to be the opposite the female follows me around more and loves to cuddle up next to me way more to sleep. Not sayng that my male is bad it seems to be more reserve and do more independent than my female. Both are great to be around and fun. Female attacks my arm for playtime but both are gentle in the playing with me. They both have a wimpy mellow quiet meow that they hardly do. Hard to get mad at them as cats do what cats do. They both found me the same day in my apartment complex and followed me to my apartment. They must've been from the same litter and abandoned. Wirh the way they look and act with each other they must've been abandoned and from the same litter and ate siblings.

Is there a deference between a black Bombay cat to a regular black cat ?

    • @2rueLIFE
      @2rueLIFE Год назад +4

Bombays are very sleek and shiny, with a black nose, black whiskers and black paw pads. They are extremely dense in muscle, which you will notice when you pick them up--MUCH heavier than they look lol! Other black cats can have pink or lavender paws/noses, and different color whiskers. Bombays tend to have very round eyes compared to regular black cats, and their eyes are copper colored.

@@2rueLIFE My ordinary black male cat is not a Bombay, but he is very sleek and shiny black almost like a seal and his nose whiskers and paw pads are black not pink or another color at all. And he has extremely dense muscles. The other kittens in the litter looked like full Simese but the mother was a tabby.

@@enjoyslearningandtravel7957 that is so cute!😍the main difference with black siamese and bombays is that when in the sun, you can definitely see the black siamese will shine a very dark brown, while bombays will still be black in the light♥️

Bombay cats are only from certified pedigree breeders, which are very rare now. You cannot find bombay cats from shelters, pet stores, or strays from the streets. If you do, they are black domesticated short haired cats. There are way too many misinformation in the internet about what bombay cats are. If you paid roughly $2,000-$5,000, than you definitely have a Bombay cat because breeders will sell them that price.
