There is this huge misconception that this test is not close to real life conditions.
I am taking out time to type this because i cant digest the fact that some people are thinking that real life conditions are more stressful than this test.
Well, lets compare the conditions.
In real life in stuck traffic, you are not at high RPMs you are at idle RPM. In this test, the engine is running around 4000 RPM in the maximum speed possible. How is it able to maintain those speeds and momentum? By continously being under load. The drag created by air so high at such speeds that very high amount of fuel is just being used to maintain that speed. The engine has to work to push the car and cut through the air. Just imagine what happens when you put your hand out at such speeds and imagine the drag it creates on your hand. Imagine the same drag on a full sized car.
Every single component is under continuous tremendous load for elongates periods. So the car is maintaining the speed, as well as keeping the engine and coolant under sane temperatures that is why they were able to do this for 24 hours.
I have so many points more but i am up for a debate if anyone has any cross questions.
Totally agree bro
Great Examples are RALLY Races.......Every Car company participates innit and their car runs for long period of times and just stops for Tire Change or for Damaged external body components!!
Please explain how it tests reliability in water, subzero/indian summer conditions, life and durability of rubber parts including belts, AC, Suspension life in bad roads, steering rack etc etc etc etc all which means reliability. Pls dont say car is only engine and gearbox. Thats not a very good logic. Also please dont say we need to run car for 4600kms only and then discard. Reliability is not what this test is. This is endurance. There is zamin-asman difference in these two if you dont know.
@pnath1633 : main aspect is the engine we are taking about.
suspension reliability is out of the question here since that is not being tested. and if the cars suspenion is also not reliable then that car is a shitbox.
Secondly, yes. Here we are taking only about the engine and not also of the gearbox since the car is working in only a single gear.
Thirdly, if you want to bring every single road/real life condition and compare it to this test then you are wrong in doing so.
Fourthly, when an engine is put under stress continously for 24 hours and 4400 kms that also on maximum capacity, then why cannot we say that the engine is reliable? All components pipes, belts, nuts, moving components are under load at their maximum potential continoulsy for 24 hours while in regular conditions the engine hardly runs at 10-20 percent capacity. To reach this condition, i cannot calculate but you will have to put down numerous kilometres before you can run down your same engine to the levels of the engine that ran for 24 hours under the same test.
Thats why 'Drag coefficient' is very important and VAG are masters of it.
@@rajdeepnath1633 to further add. Just google or ChatGPT the zameen asmaan difference you were talking about.
Endurance test is a factor in increasing the reliability of a product.
To further vent out, how do you think products are tested before sending them out in the markets? Are they used in real life conditions like you have said ? A big NO! They are put under endurance test. That means multiple cycles or continous cycles of stress test according to product. If testing wouldve been done like you said, then there would be no product launches in the world and all the products would still be under real life reliability tests !

Excellent reaction video.
One small correction regarding the tyres -
VW-Skoda use a mixture of the following 4 tyres in India for their VAG 2.0 vehicles, depending on geography I think -
1) Good Year Assurance Triplemax 2 (VW-Skoda in India have used Good Year for well over 7 years now)
2) Apollo Alnac 4G (Sunderdeep ji, you mentioned SecuraDrive here for Apollo - which is in error)
3) CEAT Securadrive (rarely used by VW, but I have seen these for some of the 2023 vehicles)
4) MRF Wanderer (this is a shit tyre in general, so I'm surprised how these are offered in the 1.0L TSI trim levels)
Thanks Anish ji, can’t see you on Twitter. Please be back.

VW should give better brand tyres such as Michelin, Continental, Yokohama, Bridgestone
@@prajitsengupta9851 Firstly this will drive up costs by about ₹10-20k per car.
Next, while we enthusiasts love soft compound tyres like Continental UC6 or Michelin PilotSport4 / XM5 etc, these are not really built for our conditions, and wear out within 25-30k km. In comparison, the GoodYear TripleMax Assurance or Apollo Alnac will last 40-45k km.
And lastly, the average Indian carbuyer doesn't even know anything about tyre sections, tyre sizes, sidewall heights etc., let alone tyre compound types and various tyre companies.
So why even bother?
Also, the CKDs and CBUs from VAG all come with Michelins, Bridgestones, or Continentals. Because these are made in Europe, so everything is European.

Hello sundardeepsingh ji,
I had bought vw passat in 2010 then after new bmw 3 320d in 2016, now i have purchased new slavia 1.5. Really like your videos, always liked german technology of cars , although its high in mantainence. However i am a strong believer of thier 2.0 india plan. I really appreciate efforts you put in your vidoes so that indian buyer can buy better and safer cars and not be misleaded by mass opinions.

Bhai to be fair, its not even close to a real life reliability test. There is no terrain variation, no petrol pump changes, little to negligible speed variation, no large ambient temperature variation, no weather changes.
In these real time conditions too, VAG TSI Engines are doing great for the last 4 years now. No known issues and customers mostly are very happy with their cars.
Right
Wait! When the engine is pulling continuously at maximum load and speed for around 24 hours, I think this stress test is even further/harder on the engine than the stress induced in real life conditions.
I believe every single component at that moment is under great load for a continuous running. For example, take the turbo. It is under continuous pressure to push more air into the engine and also the engine oil has to cool the turbo down. The engine oil is also cooling the engine somewhat and then inturn being cooled by the oil cooler. Then this coolant is then being cooled by the radiator / fan.
So this test is very very much further ahead in stressing the engine than real life conditions.

@@ambasthanipun sir everyone knows that...we jst wanted to see it along side VIRTUS nd TAIGUN.. for endurance test in INDIAN Conditions
Everything is good and shiny when you drive on highway. In city like Bangalore, sometimes covering 4 kms takes 1 hour or more. So that is called real life endurance. I think these vendors should consider these type of environments for the tests. I am neither I VW fan nor a hater, but I always seek for practical examples. If VW or any vendor can prove their reliability in these conditions then it could be a winner. Highway tests merely is an ad campaign. Get the reliability similar to Honda or Toyota level then start harping on your product.
Sirji, Toyota is a workhorse because of volume of engines they make. Spares are cheap and easy to replace. Dynamics and enthusiastic feel is average, VW caters for peculiar drivers.
PS - Sudarji is not a brand ambassador of VW

Yeh aise baath chalta rahega. Jo BMW nahi kharidpata wo VW leke khush hoga. Jo VW nai kharid sakta city leke khush hoga. It's not about which car is better. Whose pocket is deeper... VW cars no doubt superior. But the pain comes in maintenance. For the marginally better build quality and slightly better performance... You pay extra... But in cash tight economy everybody will prefer Japanese and the bosses will drive VW OR SKODA. NOT EVERYBODY can own and maintain a VW and skoda.
After using Skoda Rapid and Polo for 10 years, I seriously won't consider taking any VW cars in my life.
After 96000km Rapid went for routine service found have almost all parts having problems. Engine fuel lines has leak, valve has leak.gear assy needs replacement, stereo is damaged, whole suspension is noisy.
Routine service cost without doing any of these work was 14535 Rs.
Estimate of fuel line was 23000Rs
Total estimate for replacements were more than 1 lac.
This car already done AC work more than 60,000 Rs, Twice changed clutch.
So I decided to give my car to better mechanic locally.
You buy can a car can't repair it in company due to expensive parts, reliability is serious issue.
If no good mechanic is available only option sell it off and any buy other reliable brand.
Turbo engines can easily run for hours in high speeds without breaking a sweat as air keeps the engine gearbox cool however keep the same turbo engine 4 hours in everyday in heavy traffic and your engine life shall be reduced dramatically. This is not at all a reliability test . If I remember correctly a kinetic honda ran 1001 hours non stop in the 1990s. However VW is king when comes to performance ,dynamics, control and fun.
I have skoda kushaq but now i am thinking i made wrong choice because practically-u r not going to race daily but mileage is very very important-8-9 ka deti h city mei and even leas😢😢 here i am thinking creta and grand vitara have edge and very practical cars
Only Grand Vitara then with a questionable safety around bigger vehicles and a fat bill of battery after some years & reduced performance in 2-3 years

ye gimmick lgta hai ab to. btw i own virtus myself and happy with the car bt ye 24 hours wala koi bhi car kr skti hai aj ki date me
without major rest break mushkil hai
@meetgala1131 no, its not, no brakes were used, also tyres were changes in between, so they didn't ran on single set of tyres. engines can run fine for that long without getting too hot, cooling systems are good now
@@tayenderkumar3366yess koi bhi car itna acha road surroundings ma aram sa run kar sakta ha alto bhi kar sakti ha
They should have point out the engine hot kitna horaha ha coolent temp kinta ha engine ka behaviour they change tyre too why yeh sab tou nah batayenga par koi nah
True. But its not about who cannot do. Its about who did it. 😊
Meanwhile my virtus injector failing at 14000km only 🥲
