I've been using the EDC18 at work for some time. I've flipped the pocket clip, which rubbed a little bit of the paint off. The rabbit on the button is long gone, so its just a green light up button at this point. Its a great light about 99% of the time. When the battery starts to get a little bit low (sub 50%) it doesn't come on when turned on, but this is rare. I like this one because unlike my FW3A, it doesn't come on in my pocket all the time.
I just bought the FW3A from Nealsgadgets. But I couldn't commit on a battery. I'm not up on all of the tech but I love bright flashlights. I couldn't find the 18650 with the USB port on the top. It seems that there's many battery options for the FW3A. I would love some advice to commit to the best battery.
*bunnies are cute and it makes it easy to find the switch when you wanna turn it back off. would be kinda cool if there was a way to turn on just the bunny so you could find the switch in a hurry without having moon glow going so it would be easy enough for you to see but not so easy for SWAT to see as you're crawling around in the bushes trying to avoid detection and get the drop on them... and remember I was never here*
Exactly what I was referring to. If you could turn the bunny on independently of any other function as if it were the moon glow on an OLight you could leave it on all night and not worry about power consumption. Just to fascilitate locating the light Most lights with a moon glow option will run at ~1/2- to 1 lumen for days even weeks. Making it easier to find in the dark without giving away your position as in TACTICOOL You could just leave it on as you said all night. But you would want to be able to shut it off if its just sitting in a drawer for months so you don't trash the battery.
I’ve been looking for a flashlight that is illuminated when off (to better find it) and this Lumintop is one of the few out there. The problem is that just has way too much light for it to handle... MANY people have reported that it gets dangerously hot. I can’t be the only one who wants a light that is easy to find in the dark and is safe to have around children.
Another great review 👍. I had purchased a couple of Olights and have been very disappointed with their products. So I am looking for another edc and light with great throw and spill.

Hey Matt, I have the fw3a in two different color temperatures. I think you did a review on it a while back, and your take on the user interface was that it was kind of a nightmare to navigate with all the different functions it has. I agree with you, it is very complicated. However, for a small flashlight I can carry with me in my pocket, it has a lot of really neat features that I love when I take it with me at night walking. Just wanted to let you know I love you reviews and your channel and that every flashlight you review I pretty much end up buying right after I see your video. Thanks a lot for doing such a great job! Also, can you Source out and maybe do a video on a good place to get really good high-capacity 18 650s?
Well, I just got used to FW3A, and now it no longer goes into full turbo mode. From top ceiling, turbo is only a tiny hair bit brighter. Went through the manual over and over again, went through all the setting adjustment, no sauce... If anyone knows what the deal is let me know please.
If the battery you have is not capable of carrying a heavy load this would be the result. Sony VTC6 is what I use. There is a big jump between high and turbo for me.
@@Lumencraft- VTC6 is what I use as well. At first there was a big jump, now same cells do not drive the turbo mode. I'll get another cell and will see from there. Fenix TK-41 switch failure, ballooning switch failure on a 4x AA, switch cover failure on another 4x AA, Throughnight controller self activating, etc.
For me I value long run time and max out put. I find it useless for a flashlight to have a high out put but very short run time cause if I want a high out put I would want it to be running for more than just 15 minutes. Turbo mode in my opinion is an absolute waste on any flashlight. It really just needs high, med, low, strobe, and SOS. If a flashlight is advertise to have a max out put of 900+ lumens the max run time should be around 2 hours. To me 2 hours on max out put should be the standard on all flashlight. If it can't do that then its trash to me.
I really do like a lot of what Lumintop puts out but when it’s comes to them honoring a legitimate warranty issue THEY SUCK MISERABLY. My GT Mini crapped out on me 10 months after receiving it. They have been giving me the run around for approximately 2 months now making false promises about me receiving a new one. Apparently I am not the only one who has discovered this unfortunately. Budget light forum which is a flashlight enthusiast website has discussions about Lumintop not honoring warranty work. I have not had this kind of runaround from other well-known flashlight manufacturers like Nitecore, Acebeam and Fenix.
Arrived today (3 weeks ship time). Worried about the drain of the button light, but from what I gather it would take 3 yrs to drain a 3000 mah battery. So not as big a deal as I thought. I like the EDC18 so far as well, if not better than, the FW3A.
LUMINTOP DOES NOT HONOR THEIR “HASSLE FREE WARRANTY” the switch on my gt mini crapped out after less than year. So I thought ok, I will just contact lumintop. After sending a video of the problem per their request and a couple emails later they said I would be receiving a new replacement around April 10....never got it. And they are not responding to my emails. If you go to budget light forum they talk about how lumintop blows off emails requesting warranty work. I never had this problem with other manufacturers like Nitecore, Fenix, and Acebeam when I had a warranty issue. Never buying Lumintop products again.

@@Lumencraft- Thanks a lot, will order a few to compare. Have a good weekend.
I think I’m gonna have to get an edc18
FW3A > FW1A

Why are you wearing shoes in your Kitchen?🤣
Matt looks like you stay high
Dangit man! Bought an EDC18. Needed like another hole in the head.
Arrived today (3 weeks ship time). Worried about the drain of the button light, but from what I gather it would take 3 yrs to drain a 3000 mah battery. So not as big a deal as I thought. I like the EDC18 so far as well, if not better than, the FW3A.
It's good to see that green bunny glow on the nightstand to easily grab in the middle of the night.
Figured you might like this, heres my fw1a xhp50.2 fw1a build imgur.com/a/hFaOdMy

Thanks for sharing....
LUMINTOP DOES NOT HONOR THEIR
“HASSLE FREE WARRANTY” the switch on my gt mini crapped out after less than year.
To put the porn symbol on the powerswitch, and then diffuser condom on top of it. No thanks, I don't like it!
...then turn off your computer and go play candy crush. You reveal too much about yourself with those kinds of knuckle-headed comments.

Why so serious, are you allergic to jokes? God bless you, and thanks for a good review on a nice flashlight!
