Hi there, I just want to add that I noticed that you have beautiful hair and your natural curl pattern is georgeous, I'm glad you figured out how to use the product.
Yep Mama and my hair smiles when I put these products in. I am in the TWA phase so that is my hole routine for the time being. The Protein Coctail Leave In is watery and comes in a spray bottle. The Shea Moisture Balancing Conditioner is creamy. The Coctail is more protein based. The difference between the two in consistency could be the reason my hair loves those products. Thanks for the vid. Love your hair and God Bless you Mama.
I've never tried it as you mentioned. Sounds like it could really work for me too. Let us hope they don't discontinue it. I always stock up on products that work for me just in case they change the formula or gasp. . . is discontinued. Thanks for sharing your method and leaving a comment.
Always glad to hear when someone finds products for their #naturalhair that works. I've finally found a few staple products too that quelled my PJism! Shea Moisture's line is definitely a keeper for me too. Thanks for your input.
I think it's the glycerin which can be greasy. I find that I have to stir the product because the ingredients do settle. I had much better results when I mixed the Souffle with the Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Much better for me. Thanks for clarifying that stores are supposed to throw out returned products. Whew!
You aren't the first person I have heard say that didn't love it...but I would still be willing to try it. After all I love the other shea moisture products.
great review. You're making me feel very smart because I had the opportunity to buy that recently (not so common in Canada) and I held back because it didn't feel quite right on my hands. that's $40 I didn't end up wasting.
I have 4c type hair and I use the souffle as a moisturizer but only a little and it works great for me. I dampen my hair with Beyond the Zone Protein Coctail Leave In Conditioner, add Shea Moisture Balancing Conditioner as a leave in (yep two leave ins), and a small amount of the Shea Moisture Souffle as my sealer. That routine makes my hair feel as soft as melted butter. I haven't seen many reviews on the Protein Coctail (@ Sally's) but my hair loves this routine!!!
@lashandar I think the release is for Target only for now. Walgreens will be added later. I saw this posted on their Facebook. Thanks for putting my mind at ease about the returned products!
There is always Suave and V05. They can be purchased for less than $2. I seriously doubt that companies will lower their prices when their products are flying off the shelves.
I'd love to try that out. And yes never return items either unless they're unopened but I don't believe they put it back on shelves but who knows with greedy companies now a days
@thecreativelady lol no problem. i used to work in retail that's how i know. you looked a bit concerned (as you should) that's why i was like let me share! take care. oh and i tried the souffle recently and you are right it is very sticky. i didn't like it but i did like the fact that it had my twa shining like i needed to be on a soul glow commercial! keep up the good work on your channel!
I had the same experience, and many others feel the same way. As you said, it has potential just not there yet. I'm surprised, doesn't even feel good on hands. Though I do love the scent. Thanks for the review.
@Br0wnSgr I can't wait to see what you come up with. It looks better than it feels to the wearer! I could not wait to get home today. I hopped straight in the shower!
@MrsKimberlee1 Hey! It's a Revlon diffuser. It also has a concentrator nozzle attachment too. I can't find a comb attachment for it though but I rarely use heat so I'm ok with that. I've added your named to the list! Thanks!
I feel the same way about return things to the store. Unless a product really wasn't good and useless then and only then would I return it. Especially with the cost of things going up, I think it has something to with ppl abusing the return policy in the stores. Good review. I'm liking Alexyss K. Tyler's hair products. Her hair products work in your hair and have it looking good too.
LMBO @ you for tasting it!!! I probably would've done the same thing but off camera. LOL!!! Thanks for posting the ph-level. I have been watching Kimmaytube's vids for the past 2 days and I am really gonna start making sure my products are within range. Sounds like the Souffle feels like activator gel when I use too much. Thanks for sharing this!
I have no idea of my hair type. I'm guessing it's in the 4s but that's about it. I really like the way my hair responds to the Shea Moisture product line though.
@11zeaky You're right. It has such potential. The ingredients are fantastic. I don't know what happened. I think the end results are just too sticky. The curl definition is great, the fragrance blends with the Coconut & Hibiscus line. . . it should be great. But it's not. I'll keep trying though.
@wiwut I can't completely blame the aloe vera gel. I've used it to mix my Miss Jessie's products and did not get the stickiness. My hair was sticky on BOTH sides. ??? Back to the drawing board!
thanks for posting the ingredients in info bar. dont think my hair would vibes to tht well at all. just see uve mixed it with the ces which is an interesting idea. love ur bathroom decor :)
out of pure curiosity i would love to try the soufflé, no way to get it here in Europe and i love everything else by shea moisture so far. but the shipping would be a killer for you, so don't pick me!! :)
OMG I thought I was the only one that used the BTZ Protein Cocktail. My hair loves protein but still needs moisture. So I'm going to try your method of mixing the three. Thanks for mentioning it so i don't feel so alone. Lol.
@MsNaturalTouch I got ya! I know returns send a message to the company but I've never returned a product. I'm a letter writer! The company gets to hear my voice and if they are serious about customer service, they will listen. Thanks for commenting.
Wow great review, I've been wondering how it would work on a twist out style...unfortuantely there are No Targets that offer this product in my county..... :( I def wouldn't mind trying it...
@teaundra When I saw that nearly everyone was returning the product, I know that it sends a message to the company that the product is NOT working but I just hope it is trashed or returned. But you're right, who knows. You're entered!
your curl pattern shows before you even put in the product, with my hair I have to put alot of product for weight for the curls to show, I usually use the shea moisture curl smoothie and was thinking of adding a little souffle for the shine, and weight. I am thinking that I might not need to use so much product if I do that. Thanx for your video
We have the same type of hair. I use Curl Keeper followed by their hair cream and gel. I'm still searching for other products. I have used Shea Moisture products but my hair takes forever to dry if I use any styling products.
@ThaGeishaDoll Not all Walgreens follow this procedure though, I remember returning an Olive Bioinfusion product back that I had used a few times, the cashier was aware that it was used....just to find it back on the shelf a few days later, I knew it was the same one since the labeling had a noticeable crease from the squeezing I did to it.
yeah i'm working on my review...i did apply mine on Sunday...finished the application around 1pm sunday...it is nearly 8pm on Monday...and ......my hair is still tacky like......looks great, but feels odd....i have to wash my pillowcases and probably the pillows...Coworkers wanted to touch my hair...I had to duck and dodge because their hands would be sticky! i spent waaaayyy to much time applying and diffusing...so i'm keeping it 1 more day, then i'll wash it out sadly :(
Thanks for this review, until your first vid on getting the product, I didn't even know there was a new one and now I won't be in any kind of hurry to get it. I don't have fine hair but I don't think I would like a sticky feeling in my hair. According to your taste test, it might go well in a cup up tea. LOL! j/k. :)
@curliefro Thank you. I could not get KCCC to work for me either. I wonder if the honey-like ingredient is supposed to make hair "clump" together? But I managed to make it work!
@BLUEBERRIESKY Blame editing for some of that being left out. (It was over 14 minutes!) But the product has a sweetness that has to be either glycerin, agave nectar or the sugar cane extract. But I did not like the tackiness that coated my hair and the potential softness was GONE. It's just a tacky feeling. I've added your name!
@BlackWomanScholar I ended up making another video where I mixed the souffle and the smoothie! Much better results. Viewers suggested it. They also suggested to stir the contents to mix them up. I never would have thought to do that.
I did get better results when I mixed it with Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. There is a video somewhere in my listings. Thanks for your comment and feedback.
LOL?! That was soo funny when you tasted the product but you never did say what it taste like because I was really curious ha ha ha ...I've just never had the nerve but I have thought about it : - )...anywho I thought the product that was not mixed with aloe vera gel did looked really good you didn't say if your hair was soft or not but I would like to give it a try on my hair texture which is fine 4b so I have difficulty finding styling product.
Seems that they do have to make some changes to this product, I've seen several folks who has the same outcome. But what the hell I'll like to try it LOL. Thanks in advance :)
What's your hair type, I have a two year old daughter with a similar texture and I can't determine what hair categorie it's in. Would greatly appreciate a response, because I have yet found products that keeps her hair hydrated enough to wear out.
@TheNaprika Hey You! Thanks for watching. I love putting more info in the description box for added info. My viewers who are readers love it too. The mix was a hit! I love my viewers/friends for offering the suggestion to mix it. My decor is totally girly. When men have to use that restroom, they come out shaking their heads and hoping their wives don't go in there!
@dmalikat They are working just fine! I am learning the levels my hair responds to. My hair "behaves" better and I love that! Take a glance at my most recent video and notice the mass of fluffy clouds! LOL.
Hi there, I just want to add that I noticed that you have beautiful hair and your natural curl pattern is georgeous, I'm glad you figured out how to use the product.
2 leave ins? Wow. Never thought to try that one. Thanks for sharing your technique. It's always great to hear when someone finds something that works.
Yep Mama and my hair smiles when I put these products in. I am in the TWA phase so that is my hole routine for the time being. The Protein Coctail Leave In is watery and comes in a spray bottle. I agree! I love head bands. I am always giving myself a center part and need to work on a nice side part. Thanks for the suggestion.
@lashandar I think the release is for Target only for now. Walgreens will be added later. I saw this posted on their Facebook. Thanks for putting my mind at ease about the returned products!

I'd love to try that out. And yes never return items either unless they're unopened but I don't believe they put it back on shelves but who knows with greedy companies now a days
I love the souffle! I use it with the curling smoothie and vitamin e oil. My hair loves it.

Great point about it not being a curl enhancer. Thanks for comment.
@MrsKimberlee1 Hey! It's a Revlon diffuser. It also has a concentrator nozzle attachment too. I can't find a comb attachment for it though but I rarely use heat so I'm ok with that.
I've added your named to the list! Thanks!
I would love to try this! I haven't heard of this product until a few days ago.
Your hair turned out really nice. :)

Excellent review - that is the problem also with kinky curly custard (honey like ingredient which can end up acting like glue).
LMBO @ you for tasting it!!! I probably would've done the same thing but off camera. LOL!!! Thanks for posting the ph-level. I have no idea of my hair type. I'm guessing it's in the 4s but that's about it. I really like the way my hair responds to the Shea Moisture product line though.
A lot of people use the deep treatment masque as a styler too.
@11zeaky You're right. It has such potential. The ingredients are fantastic. I don't know what happened. I think the end results are just too sticky. The curl definition is great, the fragrance blends with the Coconut & Hibiscus line. . . it should be great. But it's not. I'll keep trying though.
I would love to try. this your hair looked really good after
@wiwut I can't completely blame the aloe vera gel. I've used it to mix my Miss Jessie's products and did not get the stickiness. My hair was sticky on BOTH sides. ??? Back to the drawing board!

@napturallycurly I'm almost sure it was Walmart LAST summer. Seems it's more widely available during the summer months.
The curls turned out nice ... I can see this with a cut head band or a side part
OMG I thought I was the only one that used the BTZ Protein Cocktail. My hair loves protein but still needs moisture. So I'm going to try your method of mixing the three. Thanks for mentioning it so i don't feel so alone. Lol.
Thank you for the review. It definitely sounds like some tweaking needs to be done to make this a good product.
@MsNaturalTouch I got ya! I know returns send a message to the company but I've never returned a product. I'm a letter writer! The company gets to hear my voice and if they are serious about customer service, they will listen. Thanks for commenting.
I wish I'd seen your review last year!
Great review! I just found out about this stuff! I didnt know SM added another product but I have heard mixed reviews on it. I'd love to try it =)
Creative lady I would like to try it, and I agree with you on returning items.
Wow great review, I've been wondering how it would work on a twist out style...unfortuantely there are No Targets that offer this product in my county..... :( I def wouldn't mind trying it...
Oh and I would love to try that souffle by Shea moisture
@blueottlisa Thanks for commenting. Curiosity had me looking for it too even though I had seen the reviews.
@teaundra When I saw that nearly everyone was returning the product, I know that it sends a message to the company that the product is NOT working but I just hope it is trashed or returned. But you're right, who knows. You're entered!

I would love to try this product!
Good to know. What leave in do you use under the Curling Souffle?
I want to give this product a try!!!!! What type of diffuser do you use?
I think we sensed the sweetness and just went with it! LOL
yeah i'm working on my review...i did apply mine on Sunday...finished the application around 1pm sunday...it is nearly 8pm on Monday...and ......my hair is still tacky like......looks great, but feels odd....i have to wash my pillowcases and probably the pillows...Coworkers wanted to touch my hair...I had to duck and dodge because their hands would be sticky! i spent waaaayyy to much time applying and diffusing...so i'm keeping it 1 more day, then i'll wash it out sadly :(
@nae0420nae The other products in the Shea Moisture line a great. I don't know how they went to wrong with the Curling Soufflé . I've got you entered!
I have seen returned hair products at target and they are put right back on the shelf. I open my hair products to make sure they have not been used,
Thanks for this review, until your first vid on getting the product, I didn't even know there was a new one and now I won't be in any kind of hurry to get it. I don't have fine hair but I don't think I would like a sticky feeling in my hair. According to your taste test, it might go well in a cup up tea. LOL! j/k. :)
@thecreativelady they damage out the returns if they are opened because of the reasons you mentioned.
This was a good review. I would like to try it.
@curliefro Thank you. I could not get KCCC to work for me either. I wonder if the honey-like ingredient is supposed to make hair "clump" together? But I managed to make it work!

I love the curling souffle but I use it as a wash and go...over my leave in.
@LaLaPoP09 You're entered. Thanks!
@Americakb It looks better than it really is. It is a bit sticky and the softness is nonexistent.
@twinkier2 It was worth the experiment. But one video later, I mixed it with the Curl Enhancing Smoothie and BAM! Good Hair!
@BlackWomanScholar I ended up making another video where I mixed the souffle and the smoothie! Much better results. Viewers suggested it. They also suggested to stir the contents to mix them up. I never would have thought to do that.
@dark05angel Thanks for the info! I'll rest easy now!
Thanks for the review. Sorry the aloe Vera didn't hep
@rhollandnyc Yikes! Thanks for the info. I will look closer. I wonder if that's where some items on clearance come from in any store? Oh my. . .
@EvelynPrather You're entered!
You think the aloe vera gel made it tacky..it makes my hair dry and flacky so I dont know how the mix of the two works...
@Llahlah Thanks. Adding the aloe vera was just a test to try to make the product be less greasy. Both sides were nearly a bust!! LOL.
@bossgal3 Just in case it was a hit, the PJ didn't want to be left out in the cold! But it was a miss so I'm sharing the other one.
@thecreativelady I am curious, It might be good for my son hair....Hmmmmm. Your hair already have good curl definition, thou ;-)
I really don't know. I'm guessing a 4 something???
i work at walgreens, and when products are returned like that, they get sent to damaged and walgreens sends them away so they can get reinbirsed
@nyeema2005 Come back on Friday and see who is chosen.
try mixing the souffle with the curl enhancing smoothie
Seems that they do have to make some changes to this product, I've seen several folks who has the same outcome. But what the hell I'll like to try it LOL. Thanks in advance :)
What's your hair type, I have a two year old daughter with a similar texture and I can't determine what hair categorie it's in. Would greatly appreciate a response, because I have yet found products that keeps her hair hydrated enough to wear out.
@goingnaturalebabii I know but don't be scared! I've got you entered.
@BRENDAAGAPE Sure thing. Thanks for the blessings. I can never have too many!
I want to try this out.
Did you test the pH of the aloe vera gel by its self?
What does aloe Vera do for you're hair I always see the ladies on here use it?
@nunatural08 Thank you. I will add you to my entries.
what diffuser are you using i have no idea which one i want but I've heard revlon is the way to go
@ThaGeishaDoll aaaahhhhh. . .that is great to know! A germaphobe like me can really appreciate this tidbit of information!
I am interested in trying it out. we have a somewhat curl pattern i think and i would like to see if i can get the definition that u get
@TheNaprika Hey You! Thanks for watching. I love putting more info in the description box for added info. My viewers who are readers love it too. The mix was a hit! I love my viewers/friends for offering the suggestion to mix it. My decor is totally girly. lol. I could not resist. Thx.
@dmalikat They are working just fine! I am learning the levels my hair responds to. My hair "behaves" better and I love that! Take a glance at my most recent video and notice the mass of fluffy clouds! LOL.
@Br0wnSgr Girl, I know! I know!
