    From my limited experience, your tip of, digging around a garden tree slowly to let the fibrous roots grow is working well for me.

    Thank for this video. I believe that you work with the tree and nature for the design. This was good to hear.... love your words of wisdom

    I agree with your thought about seeing things referencing being right or left handed. I am left handed and tend to curve things to the left. I worked in architecture and was amazed at how many creative people in that field are, indeed, left-handed.

      Guess...because they see things differently...they standout by definition...Logical...but not sure I am right.

    Excellent question about direction of design and excellent response. The same question arises with reference to Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging. People tend to favor one direction.

    The walnut I dug out had this REALLY long and thick root, I had to cut it off since it was not fitting the pot correctly! Luckily it had plenty of roots! It's still doing extremely well in it's pot right now! :)

    Your praying mantis is cool. Milton thank you for your videos. I'm having a problem with ants colonizing in my larger pots. What do you recommend. Thank you.

    • @MiltonChang-ee6rq

      You can spray ...by watering the pot to drive ants out...I recommend using Advion ant gel. A few drop would get rid of the entire colony.

    Are there some tree types that require a much deeper root zone, or do not adapt well to rocky soils? How do you deal with trees you really like, but are harder to discern why they are struggling when forced to grow like a bonsai?

    • @MiltonChang-ee6rq
      @MiltonChang-ee6rq 2 месяца назад

      Most trees will grow well in my standard soil mix.
      Check out old video...The starting point is one part top soil, one part peat, and one part perlite.
