Snap kits keep getting better. The detail here, especially on the undercarriage is great. I don't understand how people can be so snobbish about them. Just because you don't need glue doesn't make it any less of a model.
i hawe notnig against snaptite kits, i just dont like them... the onlyest thing that i dont understand is diecast modelers... its a toy, not a scale model...
when I was younger ,I would build down in the basement . Then the kids came back home and I lost the basement . Then I lost the house LOL I still have all of the ones I built in their box's . A few month's ago I wanted to start up again , so I started to look for model builders . I couldn't believe what these guys were doing , spark plug wires with the boots on them , steel braided hoses , wet sanding and buffing the paint . WTF I wouldn't be able to do all that cause I don't have the patience for all that . I almost gave up , then I found your channel and I have watched almost every build . I have started to save my egg money . I have found 2 hobby shop's near me and I got my eye on a few . Thanks again for you channel
Unbelievable "Snap-Tite" model kit. If you didn't tell anyone it's a snap together model they would never know. This video is absolutely awesome Chris! You've shared a ton of valuable techniques, secrets and your special way of doing things and you can't put a price on info that valuable, if that makes sense, lol. And, another fantastic build my friend. You have no idea how much you have improved my model building skills and as I mentioned before, I've been at this hobby 5+ decades now. You are definitely "The Man" when it comes to model car building. You build museum quality models and I'm not just saying that! Thanks again.
I now have two builds completed using this product. Not only does it result in a fantastic finish ,but it also makes blemishes in chrome and fogging from super glue disappear.Amazing stuff.
Wow snap fit, great kit. I really like the separate door panel's and the pad stamp on the windshield. The details are outstanding. The color of the body is perfect, again great build Chris. Best channel on RUclips.
The color you did those rims in is pretty much spot on to the real deal. Awesome build man, you're making me miss my camaro. :( loved that car. So much fun.
Wow. I am loving your videos! Your presentation is so pleasant and not intimidating. I commented on another video of the recent Mustang Fastback asking about the floor wax, thank you for this. I don't need to think I need 10 years experience to have beautiful results. Keep sharing, it's appreciated!
I don't have a spray booth so I have to wait for spring/summer to paint the bodies. My first snap kit the Ford Raptor turned out amazing thanks for the floor polish tip. On my way to pick up this kit at Hobby Lobby 40% sale.
I brush my Future on, too. I like using foam sponge brushes, no shedding, no brush strokes, washes out easily, doesn't really wear out as fast as bristle brushes--the ones I use I've had for years. And the fact that Future basically self-levels means nobody can ever tell it was hand-brushed. I also have a large bottle full of Future diluted about 60/40 with water, and it's a few years old, too. I really don't use a whole lot of it, but it still goes on nice and smooth after all these years.
Awesome bro! I think it turned out great. I’m always amazed at how the floor shine turns out. That stuff is awesome and so easy to use. One again great job friend
Love it! Just received my very first order from modelroundup.com. Ordered Sunday after hours and got it today (Wednesday) . Great company man! Even wrote “thank you “ on the invoice 🧾! And, a coupon for next time. Appreciate you Chris!!
I have had some issues with Silver Krylon Metallic spray paint and Pledge with Future that lifted the paint . This is an old bottle that has been around for years, I don't know if that had anything to do with it or just this type of paint. I would advise testing the paint first so you won't have to strip the paint off to start again as I did. I live in southern Ontario Canada and have had a number of issues with paint ( Rust-oleum and Krylon ) not drying properly and that too might have been the problem. ( I am now using a dehydrator to dry my paint to resolve this) Better Safe than Sorry
That looks great. Your videos are getting my 7 year old interested in building. Now if I could just stop him from destroying them when we are finished LOL>
Great video as usual Chris. Revell does a good job on all their Camaro kits. Love them. I must say that I have been building models for about 50 years and the best metallic paint to date is Vallejo Metal paints. So easy to paint and NO smell. One coat and done. Chrome paint is still out to lunch. Can't wait to see the next video and thanks for sharing...
Hey Chris, another one under your belt. Great video for those NEW Bs .... You gotta love the new technologies that have developed over the last few years. As you have said these are not the snip fit kits of the past.
Very nice kit.. I wish we could get some decent military snap kits that end up looking as good as this... save on some building time in my old age :) Great build. Thanks! By the way, I've looked everywhere online for that specific Pledge Future bottle but I couldn't find any. They have so many other bottles that say different things. I don't think they make that specific type anymore. And I remember someone saying on a modelling site that he didn't really like Future because the company keeps changing the formula.. thus changing the results that you get. I was hoping I could get my sister to bring me a couple of bottles from the States :)
The shine you get with the floor polish gets me every time. The thumbnails you put up look so realistic, I always think I’m clicking on a 1:1 scale real one! Merry Christmas! Looking forward to you building what Santa brought you! I’d love to see a Blues Mobile? Good luck finding a 74 Dodge Monaco 4 door(I think that’s what it was, without Google anyway)
Thanks, I appreciate the support and nice words! facebook.com/hpiguysworkshop Currently working on the 78 Monaco but yeah it's amazing they never issued a 74.
Thank you for showing us this tutorial! What do you clean the brush with afterwards? Also, while I’m here... do you add thinner to Testors paints you brush on engines and interiors? I heard you mention that you add thinner to the acrylic craft paints. How much do you add? How do you figure that out? I love these detailed tutorials. Thank you for always taking time to answer all our questions.
I would’ve taken some satin or flat clear and sprayed over those chrome wheels. I would’ve left the headlight bucket a chrome. Nicely done model. I do like the AMT version better. The engine detail and interior detail is much better looking.
I see that you are fighting off the haters as I advised you. Excellent job on the model thank you so much for being a strong person I respect you for that good luck to you.i will stay subscribed.
Quite the nice results and you're right, the modern snaps are really neat. But level 3 make me laugh! I mean, what is level 1 then? You open the box and the model is already ready to display? lol The only negative point, to me anyway, is that Revell tease us white hockey stripes on the box, but do not put them in the kit. I can see this in a metalic blue that is similar to some paint Chevy had back on the 1st gen camaro with those white stripes. I made the AMT version of that kit. First kit I've finished since 10 yrs. Except for the light bezels, the exaust tips and the shifter, I dechromed everything and, except the wheels (which ended Tamiya's gunmetal), all was painted flat black. I also opened the grill. I did it for fun, and to see what I was able to do now. And I was surprised about what I was actually able to do. Sure, it's not a show winner (I'm not at that level, maybe I will someday), but I had real fun with it. Sad thing tho, is that I lost one of the whipers. Good thing tho, I bought the same kit to use as a donor to make a resto-mod and therefore, I will be able to use the whipers of that kit. ^^
@@hpiguy I see. Well, that would make sense. Cuz it don't really make sense skill wise. That said, while it's a simple kit, it's still pretty good. Interior detals seems better than AMT's version.
Personally I like doing easy kits. I'm not spending days plumbing and wiring motor. Not having to paint also really let's you enjoy the hobby instead of turning it into work. Have to pick that one up being a Camaro fan
Looks Great ! love snaps myself gives you a bit of a break , Used future on my last 2 Gasser builds amazing results found 2 bottles $1 each at a flea market .. LOL .... Thanks for Sharing
Well I must say I luv that tip!!! I'm getting ready toget started on this DM-800 MACK, and boy do I got plans for her... like u said about doing that Autocar Dump truck somday right off the show room floor, well that's my plans! A coke and a smile, like that 😊thanks...
Cool too see the application of the future stuff. Iv heard one mention of it possably yellowing with age...that said probly my only concern on tryin it out. It appears to be a great substitute to the expensive ppg real car clear im using now and a hell of alot easier to do for sure.do you hav any older builds done in the future? Howd it hold up on em if so?
Hundreds of cars done with Future over the years, almost every video on here I mention it. No yellow yet. Not saying it won't ever, but hasn't been an issue so far. I noticed a lot of the peeps that say things 'yellow' are also smokers, or build in a garage where fumes get to stuff or let them sit in an area where sun gets to it, etc.
Love the way those wheels look. Where did you find the Krylon brilliant aluminum. I've looked in Walmart, Lowes' Hobby Lobby and Sherwin Williams and can't find it.
ok went too walmart for the pledge floor finish , none, went to CVS pharm none, Went th SC Johnson , not listed , so i did see the Pledge floor gloss, will this work. I hope lol it will be just my luck if it doesn't , lol
I just finished this one, and did it exactly like you did, right down to using the Gundam markers. I have to say, I wasn't a big Snaptite guy before doing the Camaro (and not because of any snobbishness, believe me), but you've officially made a convert out of me. The Snaptite Max fit and finish and quality are great. The thing looks awesome sitting next to a few of the other builds I did of models you've highlighted, in fact. So I went out to Hobby Lobby (what a store) and grabbed the Revell Snaptite Max '57 Chevy Bel Air (the one with the black body and red interior) just to see if I could do it without ripping off every one of your moves. ;-) My dad had one of those '57s when I was a little boy. To this day, he regrets selling it to an autoworker buddy of his who was moving back to Kentucky and needed a nice car.
Also; do you have a Patreon or PayPal account or a tip jar, or something similar? I've learned far more from you and your "Tao of Model Building," oh Bruce Lee of Model Kits, than I have anywhere else. I'm sure many of us would like to show our appreciation, now that you've got sponsorship and can build kits as it suits you. ;-)
I am flattered that you want to help support the channel! I do not accept money from fans or sponsors. That way I keep control of the channel and no one can say I 'owe them' for having them toss a few bucks at me. Sponsors send kits and products for review, but that's it. They know I give honest reviews and all of them are cool to deal with. Thanks again!
Wonderful build lots of great information in this video, how was the underside piping done? Did you de-can’t the rattle can into a cup and brush it on??
Chris, other than the fact that the large cans of Rust-Oleum X2 can paint several models vs those tiny cans of Tamiya paints, is there a specific reason you use it?
@@hpiguy I couldn't agree more with you and I stopped buying those tiny cans of spray paint that start at $7 and go up from there, to buying the Rust-Oleum X2 at half the price and I've saved a bundle, not to mention the fact that I can paint 10X as many models as before!👍

Chris, other than the fact that the large cans of Rust-Oleum X2 can paint several models vs those tiny cans of Tamiya paints, is there a specific reason you use it?
Correct, it's mainly because I'm cheap and the cans last forever.
@@hpiguy I couldn't agree more with you and I stopped buying those tiny cans of spray paint that start at $7 and go up from there, to buying the Rust-Oleum X2 at half the price and I've saved a bundle, not to mention the fact that I can paint 10X as many models as before!👍
Is there a yellow one
I can’t find the floor Polish anywhere.
It turns up instantly with a google search.

I wish more curb side kits would be made, save some money. Unless you like to prop the hood open, you don't see the engine anyway.
I like them, nice fast builds!
The valspar blindfold spray paint was it interior or exterior paint
Google it, it's a spray can, only one option for it at Lowe's.
@@hpiguythanks for the review and the response the review was very informative im going to put what I learned to use
FYI...….the current name of this product is Pledge Revive It Floor Gloss. It seems to change every so often.
Yeah they change names more often than a shifty used car dealer.
@@hpiguy Can't be good for business.Took me a while to find the stuff.Kept giving the wife the wrong name.
So cool chris👌 i got the 2013 Camaro not happy with the paint job in fact it's crap how do you get rid of a paint job you not happy with.😢🤞
Soak it in Super Clean for a day, scrub off the paint and start over.
Nice one chris thanks for the info.👍👍
What is that music you play
Have you ever had Future turn yellow on you?
Not yet, and I've used it on hundreds of cars.
You should try to find a 1990 Camaro because I got one in real life and I need to build one
Goodyear Eagle GT Z-rated
1999, Pontiac: "Hey check out our concept GTO."
GM/Chevy: "Meh...oh Pontiac, we're gonna kill off the Firebird/Trans Am."
Pontiac: "But..."
GM/Chevy: "Quiet."
Pontiac: "Well let's bring back the GTO."
GM/Chevy: "Okay, but it's gonna be Australian and look like a Grand Prix."
--6 years later--
GM/Chevy: "Hey Pontiac."
Pontiac: "Yeah?"
GM/Chevy: "You still got that concept GTO?"
Pontiac: "Yeah we do!! You want us to make it?!"
GM/Chevy: "What? No! Give it to us, it's now the Camaro!"
Pontiac: "Wut?..."
GM/Chevy: "Oh by the way, you got like, eh, 4 years left to live. Welp, by."
I can't find one
Awesome
Thanks Sam!
Let the haters be your motivators...lol
Sweeeeeet!!
Thanks Bryan!
Hey Chris, great work, is there an email address I can contact you on for some questions?
Much appreciated!
You can post in the community section of my FB page, thanks! facebook.com/hpiguysworkshop
Is it ok to say that this snap-tite has the most realistic interior you’ve ever done lol.
Works for me!
If its that easy, why are modelers still waisting hours with sanding, polishing, buying expensive tamiya polish???
Everyone likes to use what they prefer or are used to. More power to them.
@@powertothebauer296 thanks for the clarification
Go have a Coke and a smile 😆
I shall!
