HOT WHEELS MODEL KIT: AMT's 1/25 scale Hot Wheels 2010 Chevy Camaro is great project for any experienced modeler or Hot Wheels collector alike. Add it to your collection today!
FEATURE PACKED: The 2010 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels kit features orange chrome rims, tinted window options, metal axles and detailed interior. Kit also includes Hot Wheels Race Team decals and colorful packaging.
QUICK SPECS: 1/25 Scale. 77 parts. 7.25" long. Parts molded in 3 color (metallic blue, silver and black) with clear plastic, orange chrome parts, vinyl seats, and black vinyl tires.
Hot Wheels is a brand of die-cast toy cars introduced by American toy maker Mattel in 1968. It was the primary competitor of Matchbox until 1997, when Mattel bought Tyco Toys, former owner of Matchbox.
Many automobile manufacturers have since licensed Hot Wheels to make scale models of their cars, allowing the use of original design blueprints and detailing. Although Hot Wheels were originally intended to be for children and young adults, they have become popular with adult collectors, for whom limited edition models are now made available.
The original Hot Wheels were made by Elliot Handler. Handler discovered his son Kenneth playing with Matchbox cars and decided to create a line to compete with Matchbox. He suggested the line to his wife Ruth Handler, but she was unenthusiastic, as well as Mattel’s directors. Hot Wheels were originally conceived by Handler to be more like "hot rod" (i.e.customized/modified or even caricaturized or fantasy cars, often with big rear tires, superchargers, flame paint-jobs, outlandish proportions, hood blowers, etc.) cars, as compared to Matchbox cars which were generally small-scale models of production cars.[2] He began producing the cars with assistance from fellow engineer Jack Ryan.
    "The Sweet 16"
There were sixteen castings released on May 18, 1968, eleven of them designed by Harry Bentley Bradley with assistance from Handler and Ryan.[3] The first one produced was a dark blue "Custom Camaro".[1] Bradley was from the car industry and had designed the body for the (full-sized) Dodge Deora concept car and the Custom Fleetside, (based on his own customized 1968 Chevrolet C-10 Fleetside).
The first line of Hot Wheels Cars, known as The Original Sweet 16 was manufactured in 1968. These were the first of the Red Line Series, named for the tires which had a red pin stripe on their sides.[4]
    Racing track set
In addition to the cars themselves, Mattel produced a racing track set (sold separately). Though it would be updated throughout the years, the original track consisted of a series of brightly colored orange road sections (pieced together to form an oblong, circular race track), with one (or sometimes two) "super chargers" (faux service stations through which cars passed on the tracks, featuring battery-powered spinning wheels, which would propel the cars along the tracks).[5]An important feature here was Hot Wheel's use of wide, hard-plastic tires that created much less friction and tracked more smoothly than the narrow metal or plastic wheels used on contemporary Matchboxes; Hot Wheels cars were designed to roll easily and at high speeds, which was a great innovation at the time.
The fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro is a pony car that was manufactured by American automobile manufacturer Chevrolet from 2010 to 2015 model years.[6] It is the fifth distinct generation of the muscle/pony car to be produced since its original introduction in 1967. Production of the fifth generation model began on March 16, 2009[7] after several years on hiatus since the previous generation's production ended in 2002 and went on sale to the public in April 2009 for the 2010 model year.

I absolutely love it when you do some of these press fit aka (snap together) because it is a great change of pace, it gives some of the newer or brand new modelers something thats not intimidating and they can ease their way into the hobby. The more people young and old we introduce to modeling the better because the more demand for models the more companies will invest into newer and better kits. It's a win win for everyone, Plus these new snap together are absolutely beautiful. WE ALL WIN

The new generation of snap together kits is truly impressive. The headliner detail is something I have only seen on Italeri's truck kits, never on a car model. I've seen AMTs Camaro kit around, so I may have to get hold of it now I see how good it is.

At first I was skeptic about you using the Future floor polish and not painting the car body. Needless to say, I watched the whole video me being curious if you can pull it off. And dude, you blew my mind away. What you presented is a fun build with fantastic result.
I was on a hiatus from building model kits but this one reminded me that building model kits was for us to have fun, not tire us out with our super projects.
Looking forward to more of this and thanks for providing the link because it got me interested with the model kit alone, not to mention the way you built it.

I've built other issues and variations of this kit. I think I just sliced off the locator pins of all the windows before painting the black trim surrounds and that let them fit better.

Hmm. I don't recall AMT doing a snap of the Camaro, so I actually thought before you shown us the kit, that it was the Camaro Concept kit that had been reboxed as a 2010 Camaro. I guess they didn't do it 'cuz it would've been a little bit more complicated for kids to build, but I think they should've, as that kit is actually pretty good.
That said, this kit is good as well, and your build is awesome, as always.

  • @mr.mckinnon5680

AMT really did a good job with that kit. That quality is very impressive. Still kind of disappointed, Hot Wheels did another Camaro. Still think, Bone Shaker, or Mod rod, would have been a better choice. Or the iconic, Rodger Dodger. As an amateur hot wheels collector, I'd love to do a kit, in spectraflame. Still got my fingers crossed for that. But I'm not going to lie, that's a pretty impressive kit.
I wonder, did they make any of those kits in the Treasure Hunt version? Cuz that would be cool.

    • @garyslentzii2796
      @garyslentzii2796 3 года назад +1

The Revell Mustang convertable has a separate hood also, you could actually put an engine in if you chopped down the oil pan. It looks really good with the paint job and details you wouldn't know it was a snap kit sitting in the case.
