I was building models when I was your age. You can't beat it. I would build models over computer games any day. I have over 300 built and non built models in my collection.
You've been such an inspiration. Found your videos before the pandemic. I built models as a kid and was looking to get back into the hobby. The pandemic and you pushed me back into it. You do amazing work, keep up the great work...
Nice build - the interior came out nice for the "peek-a-boo" view thru the side windows. One more Saturday morning that begins with a model of inspiration - Chris. Thanks again for sharing all this work.
I think that mystery piece you have is a stand to go under the car to elevate the front end. I think the intent is to have the car as it would be taking off from the starting line. I think then, you would place the front tires in the lower hole since there would be no weight on the front suspension. Nice build. I have been waiting for this kit for a long time.
This looks like a very close parts content to Grumpy's Toy Vega drag car.... a LOT of similar parts with only minor differences because of the different years... Both your videos and build are great... you have, IMO, the best build and reviews on you tube!! Thanks, Chris
I attended Bruce's open house a couple times. He maintains a museum at his home. He lives about 2 hours North of me. Nice guy. Battery is correct! Good job.
MPC kits have never been known for being accurate or extensively detailed, but with a little work they display very well. From one Chris to another, Great job on yours!
Yet another great video build! Thanks so much for taking the time to describe these kits with honest critiques with out beating down for a bit of flash. The ideas I've learned from watching your videos has brought back the joy I felt as a kid bulding for the pure joy of having that "car I wanted" in my stable. Kudos for all the encouragement you provide us all.
Nice hpiguys. Model building has been more then just a pastime for me. It's a passion. Started when I was 11. I'm 64 now. Slowing down a bit. I have a wall of models. At one time they all would have been built by now. I still have the desire. But my body say's otherwise. Anyways. A heartfelt thank you for your builds. Especially these of my youth as drag racing was a world of my own. Not so much today. God Bless
I love saving your videos, once I get the kit I can refer back to the video for a reference. Kind of keeping all my model magazines. Other times I just go back and watch the video just for fun. Thanks so much for doing what you do.
Excellent review and build as always, Chris! Keep the inspiration coming! Back in the day, I used to watch both Bruce and Grumpy going at it at Maple Grove Raceway, as I only live about 30-minutes from the track. Build on, brother! 😄👍🇺🇸
@@junglejim5785 // Yes! Speaking of AMC, I always liked the '68/'69 AMX "Hurst S/S" cars, as the '68/'69 AMX cars have always been "bucket list" faves of mine. 😀👍🇺🇸
Oh, by the way, thanks for the write-up on the history of the Chevy Vega in your header section! Never owned a Vega, but did own a V-8 Monza. Yanked the anemic 305-cid engine in favor of a slightly worked 400-cid sbc. It was a torque monster! 😄👍🇺🇸
Another great job Chris. Pretty sure that the battery could not go in the passenger compartment due to safety rules. I know that NHRA rules in 1965 outlawed batteries in interiors and don't think it would have changed.
Another great dragster build do you remember a Camaro dragster called The WarLord . I had it when i was a kid would be cool if that was re issued.✌Canada✌
I can only ditto all previous comments of how much I enjoy your videos. Question - what do you do to touch up the small areas that are original mold color where your alligator clips hold your non-sprue parts? Or even the spots that are cut from sprue after painting? I hope that makes sense. Also, do you primarily use craft paint and markers/color pens for the smaller details? This HAS to be so much more cost effective than jars of model brand paints.
Nice Job! My friend it built up very nicely. I can see some of the other moderns casting up some copies of those carburetor. To have for future projects. Carry On My Friend!
Another FINE job on this kit Chris!!!! Thanks for showing the process and the time spent in doing so. Really nice results! See you at the next review! 🚦
Chris, buddy nice job but with me i have never followed those crazy looking colors on the side of the box! They surely put some side box art colors on all MPC kits
Is it possible to get a paint tutorial on models??? Im a newbie i guess you could say im on my 5th kit ive ever built and i seem to always jack the paint up
Recently discovered MPC from your videos. I just finished the 36 wild one and ordered this one as well, love this brand. I noticed on Amazon your builds are referenced with most products. I thought this was really cool. Did Amazon reach out to you and ask for this?
Do you think that the chassis from this kit could be used on a any 88 Dodge Daytona model to recreate a Mopar pro stock like the one driven by Scott geoffrion or Darrell Alderman? Thanks Dale. Love the channel
Search the home page or scroll through the videos on there. I've shown it in numerous videos, most recently the 69 Mr Norm's SuperCharger among others.
30:28 yes sir Chris!!!! Those 1050 Dominator carburetors look sweet!!!
I remember him at Suffolk Raceway by in the late 60s and early 70s. I Bruce to come to a reunion in 08. Super nice guy.
Hey bud, I live in Suffolk. And my stepfather used to take me to the track and he had a couple of Camaros. I really miss the racetrack. Good old days.
Love your stuff man. I am 13 years old and I watch your videos when I am building my model kit. I am currently working on the International Payhauler.
Please respond

Stay with it buddy! Also look into HO scale and 1/32 slotcars, aTON of fun!

Couldn't agree more!
The USA-1 Vega should be a great selling kit! 👍👍👍
Another great one - thanks for showing us how you do these models.
Outstanding build and presenation Chris!! This kit will make a lot of drag fans very happy!!

Lord those were the day's Art. Back when even AMC was still around and you seen all makes and models were competing. Unlike today.

I think the "extra parts" @ 2:35 are an engine display stand.
Can't wait to get one! Built the "Twister Vega" thirty five years ago. And will be doing my Grumpy Vega soon.
Awesome build again looks like a fun kit to build thanks as always.
I remember him driving a Corvette funny car back in the late seventies, from '79-'82, during the Summernationals at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ
Beautiful build! Thank you!

Great kit , awesome build as always . COOL VIDEO .
Gotta get one... be a nice weekend build. Great job!
😆 🤣 I had a Vega SW it was a rocket 🚀 😅 😎....so enjoy your videos 📹 please keep them coming 🙏 and here to help get your videos out to everyone 😀 😉 😊
That kit built up really nice Chris another one for my bucket list 👍👍
I love your builds always quality, you make it look so easy and fun .
Glad you like them!
Damn nice build bro!! You gotta love a car that is fast even when it is sitting still. Greetings from Manitowoc.
Will be getting that kit
Looks nice. This will be a popular kit.
Nicely built amazing vega
Another Awesome Build Chris KUTW n God Bless All !!
Great open box review. The build turned out awesome. It really a great looking build. Have a great week Sir.
Beautiful as always Chris, love the extras too that come with it! Thanks for another great video mate. 👍
Great job, as always, Chris!!👍👍

Super work ganz toll gemacht.
Thanks!
Beautiful build! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for the visit!
Chris, i just found a pic of the actual car and seen the Firestone Drag 500 rears on the car.
Beautiful build brother and I want several!
Boxart shows hood orange but we know that ain't right. Great build as always Chris. Keep them coming I'll keep watching.
Thanks!
Fine build!! This one is going on the racer's wedge! Wisconsin winter on the way, need to stock up👍
Fun fact. The Chevy Vega was made from compressed rust. One paint scratch and it was all over !😆
Sick build. I want one but I have so many kits coming out of my ears hahahah
Nice kit. Outstanding video and presentation.
Way to go. The interior looks way better the way you did it than the box art. I suspect the art was creative license to make it easier to see.
Excellent build Chris! Not usually into drag cars but this one is talking to me. Must be because I've always loved the Chevy Vega!

Take the paint and spray it in a paper cup, then use toothpick to touch up where the clip(s) were 😎
Thumbnail caught me...thought it was real. :)
The photo back drop enhances your already great photography. Nice!
Nice. It would be cool to build this as a stock appearing resto mod using the same engine. Paint it some 70's shade of green and throw in some seats.
Love your content!
This looks the same as Grumpys car. Grumpys had a small block with big block headers. The only difference between the two cars is the decals.
Nice build 👌
Oo yeah Chris that is sharp need a video of with grumpys Vega that would be awesome
Thanks!
@@hpiguy you're welcome sir
Nice Job! My friend it built up very nicely.
I can see some of the other moderns casting up some copies of those carburetor. To have for future projects.
Carry On My Friend!
Thank you!
Sweet looking Vega kit...
Another FINE job on this kit Chris!!!! Thanks for showing the process and the time spent in doing so. Really nice results! See you at the next review! 🚦
Great build waiting on mine
Chris, buddy nice job but with me i have never followed those crazy looking colors on the side of the box! They surely put some side box art colors on all MPC kits

Looks nice. Thanks for the video
Thanks for sharing...
Nice work Amigo! I always learn a new tip when I watch your videos....be safe
Thanks!
How did you paint the section black where the tail lights are, marker, spray paint or bush?
Awesome job mate that’s another one I have to get 👍🇦🇺
You should!
Very nice build........
You should do the 1/16 scale mpc 1979 Pontiac firebird. I really liked that model
Hey Chris, was installing the glass in my 72 bill Jenkins Vega and I spilled glue all over, any fixes?
Is it possible to get a paint tutorial on models??? Im a newbie i guess you could say im on my 5th kit ive ever built and i seem to always jack the paint up

You usually review the body. Forgot this time lol.
Nice.!!😊🌄
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice job on the Vega. I opened my box today. All looks well, except I was shorted 1 taillight. Think MPC can help me with that ? Love your builds.
Nice build Chris. I would not go by the side box art. Keep building I'll keep watching.
Where do you get your Kaiser gel pens?
Google will help you find where you can get them locally.
The unknown plastic parts were a engine stand for display of another engine.
Do you think that the chassis from this kit could be used on a any 88 Dodge Daytona model to recreate a Mopar pro stock like the one driven by Scott geoffrion or Darrell Alderman? Thanks Dale. Love the channel
Nice video. Great work on this one.
Looks sweet as👏👏👍
Very nice build!
It's a lot like that Grumpys toy 72 kit
How do I find your water slide decal tutorial?
Search the home page or scroll through the videos on there. I've shown it in numerous videos, most recently the 69 Mr Norm's SuperCharger among others.
Is that the same as the Grumpy Vega?
Pretty much, yes.
Nice
Turned out great!
this kit is taking forever to hit the shelves :-(
Check at walmart. I seen this kit for sale at Walmart along with other kits. Walmart started selling model kits recently since like late summer....
