I knew even the best of the old heads can’t keep up with a gun that ties and cuts in 2 seconds a tie every tie. And you also disproved a big statement I see around that you have to have the rebar lifted before use, when just a quick grab up like you did here is enough. Klein’s still have their place tho. But once you get in to the 100’s and 1000’s of yards then a tie gun only makes financial sense
It's amazing what one can pick up just watching a video. Great points.
Who cares how fast it is. It's saving that man's body and that makes for happier, better workers.
I started tying Rods in 1983, and they didn't have no shit like that in my day....lol
I tied Rods from Keywest to Utah
i recommend the Max RB441T TwinTier gun if you're tying some major yardage often. it's not cheap, but well worth the cost, considering it'll cut the time in half, at least!
Or RB 440 t from Japan, very cheap.
I have a MAX and it works well. A kid who trips over there own feet can get work done for you with one of these. However if you are questioning its performance, rent one for a day. Always a smart move.
Hi Jeff
How to get it in India?
Nice review... Looks to me that you've tied a few rebar in your life, so you'd be a pretty good judge if it was worth the investement... I saw another guy using a Makita rebar tying gun and their rebar cutter. He works pretty much alone, so I guess anything that he can do to speed things up and make it easier!
Ya, if you had a big project, definitely pay for itself. But where they really shine is on like a basement wall where you need one hand holding the rebar and the other tying.
Awesome to actually see it out in field and that gun is antique old technology
It's very Fascinating to watch production! Great video!
Thanks glad you like it
For rebar on floor is ok, for stand up rebar and walls pliers are the best, keep it tie and strong hold, nice video
Thanks
Hey bro great review gun is the way forward but they are expensive in the U.K. we purchased one when we did the basement conversion and slab but for the hand ties we used the two loop and hand held tie pull just a quick bit the gun saves on wear of the wrist 😂 awesome review have a awesome week all the best Tony 👍
I've used 2 loop, you can get pretty fast with it.
Is the guy doing it manual wrapping the wire round 3 times like the gun? It looks to me like it’s only going round once? I haven’t done any rebar work but have a project coming up and I don’t fancy doing it by hand so think I will rent one for the day.
On all jobs we tend to get behind.. But having the rebar gun makes up the time and puts us ahead..good video
Very true
It has its advantages for certain jobs, flat work either horizontal or vertical, I'd like to see its utility in a column yard fabricating columns with interlocking ties, hairpins, rack braces etc, or on the job site assembling core walls with link beams with diagonal bars at openings on the form side curtain in a 12 inch thick wall, not gonna work.....don't throw your pliers away, you'll need em.
I'll definitely be keeping the pliers as well.
Yea, i can see that they could assign more people to columns and such.
I like the vid, thanks. It would have been better if a timer is on the screen so we can really see how much time was save. I'm here coz I'm planning to buy a tying machine. Someone mentioned about rodbuster, so it would be a nice future video to feature. I'm a newbie so I'd like to learn more.
I'll have to try that next time. Thanx
Guns nice if it doesn't jam and all have to tie is 5s. Take the spring out and do a race with 8dowls.
Here my opinion. I've had plenty of experience with that tie gun they are very handy when they work but when the wire gets caught or the roll comes undone in the its holder it is a pain is the butt. I've never used plyers n wire I have only used a twisty n twister. Tbh I like the twisty n twister better. And that's my opinion.
Even when the wire gets stuck.. Its still worth it...😅 😅 😅
New tiers have adjustments for wire tightness.
That's nice
Bit of a strange way to tie a slab, why wouldn’t you frame up all the bars on the marks and fill them in 3 in between
We left this section out just to race
Boy you freaking roll when you are tying that rebar!!! You are the machine not that gun!!! Hope you are doing well!!!
Lol thanks man, doing great glad you got to vacation!!
How's your channel coming, haven't seen any new videos lately.
Not slamming the guy tying with the kleins but if you had a decent rodbuster tying I think the pliers would still win
Dummy!!
Def not moving to fast
I own 3 of these guns and I tie by hand now ,very expensive wires and the batteries are easy to break so need to hold it with tape or wire or velcro , and the guns are jamming all the time .Not worth the money in my opinion waste of time and very frustrating .Sorry MAX. On the positive side I own 2 MAX gas nail guns for the last 10 years and never had one problem .From one extreme to the other
Great points, glad you brought that up people need to know the truth behind them from someone with years of experience. Seems though for like a retaining wall with tight rebar grid they would be super valuable in that application.
@@SolidworksUnlimited not really but when they work they were awesome mostly for the high bar hold one hand and tie with the other ,The next generation might get better like every other tools, I do foundations so I tie grid vertical all the time since 1977 own rebar guns for 7 years. At 64 not buying tool anymore
The difference is the price of skill needed to operate the tools. You need 10+ years to run pliers efficiently. $2,000+ per week skilled labor
A determined single mom on her day job using a tie gun can beat the rod buster all day for days. And cost 30-40% less per man hour.
All those years of experience replaced by a machine. Technology-keep up or get beat in the bidding rooms.
Yup
Why do u not have saddles?
We used adobe's after we tied it in place.
@@SolidworksUnlimited thank you
The comments about rodbusters is mute. Anyone want to pay for one to come out? Heck no! Like we have hundreds or thousands depending on the job to throw at someone to just tie rebar for us. Even if I have a kid fresh out of high school and is 1/5 that speed I'm ahead on paying his labor vs a rod buster.
The video is not about who is the fastest or what is the fastest, it's about efficiency for an average concrete worker that does a lot more then just tie rebar all day. The gun looks nice but I'm sticking with my wire reel.
👍👍
Solid, I just saw this video. And I looked up the price and I will have to opt for the pliers. Lol. $3500? I am still saving for that crown stapler you told me about :)
Excellent, you do what you can with what you have where your at.
Both of these are nice, I'm currently using the hitachi
Metabo Construction Stapler Pneumatic 7/16-Inch Staples amzn.to/3giGo99
Hitachi N5008AC2 7/16" Standard Crown Stapler, 16 Gauge amzn.to/3uVXKgw
@@SolidworksUnlimited
Oh awesome. Did you buy that gun just for the purpose of attaching lathe, or do you work with crown as well? Would a coil roofing nailer work as well? My wife is going to cut my budget pretty soon if I don’t start buying tools that can perform multiple functions.
Than you for replying. It must be nice to be able to do different types of jobs all the time and not the same thing every day.
The 7/16 crown stapler can be used for wood lap siding, t one 11 sheets, that's the 4 by 8 sheets of siding, I wouldn't use it for crown moulding at all its too powerful, Brad nailer 18 gauge or pin nailer for that, a coil roofing gun works OK for lathe as well.
@@SolidworksUnlimited
Oh I C. I just figured out why they call it a crown stapler. Lol.
Do you have an email?
Got it
You are pretty fast with pliers, but it's clear Rebar Tying Gun is far better option not just speed wise but as a preventive step for future physical issues.
Where can find this drill tie tool
I put the model number in the video title, copy it and past it into Amazon or Google search. In the search select shopping and you should be able to find one for sale.
Get a reel and a rod wrench... you can do more with it and it doesn’t break.
I find the rebar tied by machine are looser. On a big site where lots of worker walk on the rebars before the pour, it does cause some problems sometimes.
I totally agree, that's where the saddle ties are needed to
Holy crud! $2500!
Ya expensive!
I promise you, they pay for themselves in a very short period of time. We’ve got 3.
@@tylerkurfees4762 it’s a concrete tool, they basically pay themselves off sitting in your toolbox! still it’s a hefty price to a normie like myself.
@@tylerkurfees4762 if they work😳😑😐
I've hammered out generator pads in 6 hours and walked away with close to 2 grand profit. They pay for themselves. They save your elbows and wrists which means you can work longer and more often.
Why didn’t you guys raise the bar up with bricks and all before tying it? it makes life a lot easier lol however nice video, I used to use two of them, one in each hand, made me look like a transformer 😂 Otherwise nice work!
We like doing stuff the hard way sometimes lol
On a big slab or footing the gun wins
I don’t think that machine can beat a real rodbuster, and your guy with the pliers he is to slow tying with pliers, and also that machine is not going to have a function in a wall with big numbers of rebar
Facts, I could out tie that gun any day. Look at the flick of the wrist!
I tie #6 bar all day with a max and I'll bet a pay check NO ONE can tie faster with pliers
I agree, not for a whole day, his wrist would never be able to out do a gun, I don't care how big his ego is.
What was this job? No chairs under the rebar?
So quick to judge they weren't in yet. Tie steel then set chairs is how we did it
@@SolidworksUnlimited I just wasn't sure what was being poured. For a second it kind of looked like a roof with some vent stacks 😄
It's a house slab 👍
modern day john henry
😂 😂 😂 😂 Got 3 of them
Well does he a day off for beating the boss?
I bought him a 2020 raptor 700, will that work?😁
One will save you from arthritis one day too lol
Absolutely!
Ties tighter than your ties as well.
Yesir they are
Ive tiyed lot of rebar ill take the gun
A twister would’ve beat both…
You should brick your mat up.
We did, before we poured.
@@SolidworksUnlimited i would have bricked it up as I keyed my mat up.
@@jameswallace3226 ya, would have been faster
Out with the old...
Now with the new...
pliers need user mod LOL
just some bantar
Haha
@@SolidworksUnlimited yeah man as a rodbuster that ties all day. You're decent ;)
Guns will beat the fastest plier guy after a few hundred ties when the gun guy is still fresh.
My company doesn't buy em's because they break too often. So my pliers are my best friend.
Maybe they'll be more common on jobsites in the future when they are more reliable(AND LESS EXPENSIVE $2k!?)
Ya costly little buggers
@Dapro how do you mod them? I'm a carpenter, not very fast :o
Well idk bout you, but no man ties steel like that and gets another day on the job.
When we poured that slab, that steel didn't move, that is the whole idea wouldn't you agree?
@@SolidworksUnlimited I know that binding wire is only for positioning, but depending on the work, those ties won't hold.
Ya wouldn't work on vertical, was just racing having fun. Cheers
And he won't wake up with carpeltunel
Obviously you’re not a true Ironworker rodbuster if you were you would have beaten that gun
Local 377 San Francisco Ironworkers.
Obviously your from San Francisco
@@SolidworksUnlimited No sir I’m from East bay Oakland Cali retired 4yrs, 30yrs in the trade second generation 👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Dumb thinking your going faster when the rebar isn’t on top of dobies
Thats a pretty shitty tie on the right isnt it? Just one twist?!?
Not much at all
booo gun. I AM A GUN
I beat the gun
Not a chance in hell
thats some shitty hand tying, youd be fired from my team for sure.
Do you have a video of yourself tying? I'd like to see it so I can learn.
Haha you sure know how to get the expensive ones. I'll take a 17 year old McDonald's employee with a good attitude and have them beating your guys in a week. Easy labour jobs like tying rebar, tile, trim, drywall, etc. Can be trained in a day or less.
I trained a couple of painters on balcony railing installation on apartment buildings a couple days ago. They weren't even our employees but having more people to do the work is an advantage.
The only reason to get rid of someone is their attitude bc you can't learn with a bad attitude. Non-learners are long term laborers and will not gain skills.
This guy is a learner, so his current technique is irrelevant. An employer should be good enough at all of the jobs they offer or they will have to use expensive guys.
That gun cannot pick up the rebar and put it where it belongs some hard working individual did it and tying it is the easy part .. please call me when that gun can unload the bar , shake it out cut it and carry it to where it belongs oh and please try that gun on a wall ??? and you will see why human labor cannot be replaced..
Why is you're bar sitting on the ground ? That's not even the way its supposed to be you have 0 coverage. If you you weren't lifting the bar every tie he would have been closer. Who builds mats with no coverage.....people that don't know any better ....thats who
We lifted the bar and chaired it up, but you act like you need to take a good hefty dose of chill!
