Cultured stone Gate columns footings and concrete cap
Beautifull work! I can tell you are very proficient. Do you have a helper or work by yourself? About how long would you say it takes you to complete a hundred square feet of open wall area with Ledgestone?
How much did you charge for fabricating and installing it? Foot cost ?
I was a Cultured Stone rep for over 14 yrs. There are many ways to lay the stone but if you want 30 yr plus longevity you need to put up a scratch coat of mortar and screed it before laying the stone. You made sure to cover the entire back of the stone with mortar which is good. This way water will not lay in any gaps causing stones to pop off from freeze thaw cycles. Lastly I worked with my distributor to create a concrete profiles company to supply caps, lintels, trim stones etc made from concrete. We used wet sand in the molds instead of plastic ensuring a stone type texture instead of the plastic folds which honestly looks crappy for the money the owner shells out. It also ensures you eliminate those holes on the surface which after many freeze thaw cycles will spall and turn the surface ugly prematurely.
What size blocks was used for this ?
Don't you have to wet the wall first?
Looks like you would have shown how to lay stone. Bad video.😝
U suck.
Excellent job..I see nobody is casting concrete post anymore, so do you full all the holes in the blocks,or just the ones with rebars in it?....
To prevent debris/dirt from building up in the drain plug area, dig your hole about 6" (or more!) deeper than desired. I put 6 inches (or more!) gravel in the bottom of the hole (my soil is sandy so it drains well). Set the elbow of your yard hydrant coming from the water source on the gravel. Then put 6 inches, or so, more gravel around the base/elbow. Before I backfilled more dirt in the hole, I covered the top layer of the rock with a HEAVY DUTY plastic sheet to prevent dirt from sifting through the rocks. I used a piece of plastic that was about a foot wider than the hold, so that I could tuck the excess down and around the rocks, causing the water to shed away then drain.
Explain the mesh please
Hello! How are these batteries holding up in 2024? Found one for 12.5k with generator, but not sure how much batteries will cost to replace.
Their holding up pretty well, I had to refurbished a few batteries and heat sensors. I mean individual batteries inside the box. Full batteries are pretty expensive, but you could look for a forklift battery just make sure its a 48 volt. Size is the determining factor on price, but close to 4 grand per box
@ What are your thoughts on a trailer to power my home? These were a lot cheaper when being auctioned off, but is $12.5k too expensive today? Same components but, the one I’m looking at has light masts and a 11k Kubota generator with only 22hrs. Thanks for your help. Don’t want to make a rash decision. Anyway to check SOH (state of health) of batteries in inverters or manually?
Ima mason i can build a box outta wood, howd you lay the stone so dang pretty what i wanna know, what i was looking for walkthrough for, looks good tho
Nice I’ll give it a try
Excellent!
How you make the posts? Do you have a video?
what type of block is that. it can't be concrete
Why wouldn’t you put a riser on the inlet side.
Not required and costs customer more
Yeah - Easy Peasy in sand/dirt - try it in ROCK!
Nice work! Although I would through in some z ties. Where the gates are going.
Exelente método de pegar bloques no todos tienen o tenemos esa técnica
What mpa concrete did you use
So what kind of mortar did you use to stick the rocks to the wall?
Type S quickcrete
Always wondered if this stone was full or cut in half
You need to offset the second panel if youre gonna set them up like that
Would slip form have been faster on this job?
Probably would, seeing how the joints weren't too critical.
No sería mejor empezar de abajo hacia arriba?
That’s basically all you need to know 👍
I have never seen the pilot hole trick. I love to learn new tricks. Thanks! Liked & Subscribed.
Beautiful place. You're a craftsman.
Thanks 😁
Things they need to update. Front door visibility. Push lift arms out away from cab door. Joysticks mounted to air seat . Radiator and coolers mounted up high for easier service.
Agreed, those arms are too close together anyway, they twist too much when carving on a dirt bank it would improve overall visibility as well.
amazing!
Thx

I haven't bought one yet, I'll be finding it when I do and make a video on it.

The steal post
I think it was 1/8
Awesome work! What brand are those gates?
I don't know, the homeowners got them from china
Where can I get the set of polishing pads u have
Here's the link to some 4" pretty good price. amzn.to/3LocezC
Here's the 7" similar to what I used in the video. You'll need a 7" backer pad as well. These are dry grind.
👍👍👍👍
Definitely not heavy weight 12s, these probably weigh less than the 8" block I lay. In S. FL. code will not allow the use of light weight blocks of any size. On a wall like this with lightweight 12s, I could lay 600 to 800 block a day (since as all masons know) 12s are easier to lay than 8s, they're just heavier. And with a setup like this where you are working in the shade all day, I could do it without breaking a sweat.
Lol, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back
Mortar that sticks, ahh, gone are those days..
Nope use type s quickcrete
The mortar type and manufacturing company has nothing to do with it, respectfully, I’m seeing well slacked and well mixed mortar, Someone is doing it right over there, I’m jealous, that’s a far cry from what I see these days! I enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing
@briandwight9268 Thanks Brian!
Nice work as always! Good to see you posting some… 👍
I know been so busy haven't found time to edit videos
Put all the panels on one T setup .. will have no shadows.. respond shall explain
I"ve had a couple of good cement truck drivers, few and far between. Thumbs up! everyone , great video!
Ye sab rock kaha se laye hai kharide hai ya river se laye hai please hame bataye
I'm not trying to be cynical. But wouldn't it be better to have your tracks running parallel with the trench so you can just back up a bit when you need to dig the next section? I'm a complete newbie to these machines so I'm keen to understand the reasons why people do what they do
If the ground isn't level the blade on the machine can lift the machine to level which makes the bottom of the footing level.
@@SolidworksUnlimited that makes so much sense! Thanks for the reply 😊
silicone in the problem gap? i did see if you fixed the original problem?
I noticed there are two different versions. One with the kit and one without the kit. The saw that comes with the kit (shown in your video) has a smaller/shorter black battery cover. The one sold individually has a taller black battery cover. Seems like they were able to cut some costs with the kit version to offer the whole kit for an attractive price. Not sure which one i should get...
I got another one with the taller battery box because it fits the 15 amphour battery where as the lid can't close on the shorter one
You are my #1 resource I turned to for learning to build my block wall, I did the wet set method, and the string lines between the H block with the nails and everything, I’m finally almost finished with my wall now and even after laying approx 350 feet of block I’m still amazed how much faster you are at it than I can be lol. Fun just looking back over these videos and seeing what else I can pick up on now that I have more experience doing it. Thank you again for these videos!
👍😎👍

Some really great tips of the trade. About to pour a 12x16 patio pad soon. Schooling up for a DIY project. Thanks for sharing!
Hey thanks for watching glad the videos are doing some good
Nice trick on the tying the string.
I want this done to the bottom of my cabin but they have ply wood on bottom half and no clue what I need to do to prep for stone :(
Cover the plywood with a tyvek or tarpaper, staple it on with a hammer tacker, then install a flashing at the top of the area desired to have stone so water never gets behind your stone, then lathe the wall with a 1/4 inch wire lathe, then buy some type s mortar mix at home depot Lowes, or a hardware store, then add water to it then mix it to a manageable slump the put the mortar on the back of clean stone and stick it to the wall, try and keep the joints consistently the same size, clean excess mortar off with a brush as the mortar starts to dry, in a nutshell that's the jist of it.
Thank you so much!!!
@@SolidworksUnlimitedmay I ask what kind of bonding agent to add ? Or is type S mortar perfectly fine
Type s is fine if your just putting it on wire lathe, the bonding agent is only for sticking it to existing concrete walls.
Where are you based out of?
