@1:15 Wait WHAT!! "who's got every tool in the world" coming from Doc???? High praise indeed. :)
This a great idea that makes a lot of sense.
One that makes you feel dumb? Same here. 😆
I went and bought one this morning after watching this video last night and it's a badass tool!! Thanks for the video.
Awesome idea, ordering immediately, 40 years ago we had star bits ; you can definitely drill delicate holes in cement (hitting & turning ) by hand. Thnx for the tip on new product
He had a star bit there at the end, @4:35, the long skinny one (probably a 3/8). I have some old star chisels from my step father he would have used in the 60's as a plumber.
I also had some broken drills and welded a plate on the bottom as a small tamper for tight areas.
I grind the tips off old worn out sds drill bits and use them as beater chisels/punches so this would be perfect for that, you're right.
A tool I have that you don't? I am amazed!
I use my SDS drill much more for chiseling than for drilling. I used to leave it at home when I went on RV trips, but then I needed to borrow one to get the rotors off of my car when my brakes started scraping. Thankfully, someone else in the hotel happened to have an SDS drill with hammer mode and brought it down. Boom, rotors off.
Mine's just a basic Kobalt one, but it works well.
I use my sds rotary hammer for gold prospecting. Great for chiseling or drilling out an ore sample.
I picked this up a couple months ago as soon as i saw Morgan's maintenance post a video on it. I've never had anything like it. It's amazing.
Vessel makes an impact phillips screwdriver you may be interested in. It's made so that when you strike it, it provides a slight counterclockwise rotation to loosen stuck fasteners.
I think for the price and to get 2 bits… it’s a steal. 👍👍
I didn’t even know it came with bits when I ordered it 😂
Arnt you glad you have tool minions like us to spread the word 😆
@ 😂
I saw it at Lowe's on Sunday night and was like " I will be taking this home"!
Can't wait to get to Lowe's tomorrow and see them sold out. 😂
Really a great tool I can see where it would be handy in a lot of situations. Good stuff Doc
I have looked at those bits and thought the same thing. Perfect solution.
I have this and its reasonably useful! The only thing I'm trying to find is a sds plus clay spade not max. Seems no one i know of makes one of you come across a lead let me know. It's a interesting way to make a small shovel is what I'm thinking. I do use sds plus adapters to pinned earth auger to drive large 6 to 12in by 2ft holes with a flexvolt mud mixer. The possibilities are endless.
I want one!!!
thanks for another great tool suggestion!
update, only available on amazon us, no shiping to germany. So many cool tools featured on this channel are us only. Im almost ready to make a us shipping address....
I've been eyeing that. I'll have to pick one up this coming year sometime. Lately, I've been trying to get my pliers and bit driver setup back up to par. I got hooked on Vessel bits and driver stuff the last couple of months and have been stocking up on that.
Great handle, I'm interested in one. You can have multiple options, just like with the other milwaukee handle for saw blades. Sometimes I need to do precision work and this handle could be the solution. You can use the sds chisel with the hammer but you end up with a deformed shaft which can destroy the chuck of your hammer drill.
You have every tool in the world. Not your neighbor. hahaha!
That is very interesting and looks handy! 👍🏻
That’s super interesting. I might pick one up. I have the Klein 1/4 hex drive handle and I love the st thing. There is very little play in the shaft and it’s super refreshing because there’s so much slop in just about all of the competitors. I’m hoping this is a tight fit as well
very cool, very versatile
Thanks for the heads up, I have never seen that Klein offering before .
FYI, if you haven't already check out Tekton''s new adjustable wrench. It is the slickest, tightest fitting adjustable wrench I have used.
Plus, it comes in Metric 😊
Reject adjustable wrenches. Embrace knipex pliers wrench
I wonder how good it will be in the extreme end of high hard use
Cool tool!
That is super cool.
If you put the drill bit back on then it’s just a pin vise for concrete
$29 with 2 bits, almost seems like a pricing error, but I'll take one. Thanks
Does it hold tight enough to repair a edge on bits?
Hello again, Doc
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Question for you, Doc. I have an old Craftsman Screwdriver flat blade. I think the tip was about 3/8" wide. It was what I used to open the engine cowling on commercial aircraft. I broke it off. I saved the screwdriver thinking I would find another use for it. If nothing turns up, I guess I could always get another Craftsman Screwdriver. Again thank you 👌
No matter what google tells you sds is from the German Steck (insert), Dreh (twist), Sitzt (fits).
I want to see how it holds up getting beat on for a few jobs
I don't need this, but looks useful
Hi,
something else:
i came across JIS SCREWS on another channel. Those that the Phillips Screwdriver does not fit.
Please check and advise about it ? 😍
Use the Milwaukee “SDS-Max steel clay spade” in tandem with the handle. Boom, mini garden shovel for a real man.
You would need an adapter as the handle doesn't hold SDS Max.
Wonder how long a separate removeable handle will hold up chiseling stone. Pretty much every stone chisel I’ve ever seen is one piece all steel. Show us what a series of strikes with 3 lb. hand sledge does to this handle.
or a short "prybar" with replaceable shafts
Phillips head demo drivers always make me wonder what use they are?
Do youny chance know the part number for the snap on striking chisels? Thank you!

@lastbesttool thank you so much Doc!
dont understand why use this when you can rotation lock the sds drill? is this only for ppl who dont have sds drills or what
Can this handle fit the SDS plus ?
My question is about how long that handle latch will function if you pound on those tools?
SDS chucks are designed for large hammer/percussion drills so assuming its made to the same standard it'll be fine.
Not that I would ever do it here in California but looks like you could use it to knock a cat out of an exhaust pipe w those bits
Hammer drilling by hand? Oh yes, I see demolition in my future…
I'm shocked that you don't have an SDS rotary hammer, my Bosch bulldog has never failed me.
Interesting option, but I don't have a need for all those options. I'll make sure my mason buddy knows about it.
A plain HUSKY demolition screwdriver is enough for my needs.
Sir, how can I get the tools. Is it possible for me.
Amazon
For me it sits in a not particularly useful space between a demo screwdriver and a bolster. A demo screwdriver can be used as a screwdriver, a bolster can't but it includes hand protection. Unless they make SDS bits with slotted/Phillips tips I can't see this being useful as a screwdriver so they should have added hand protection to make it a more versatile equivalent of a bolster.
Please someone tell me, will this tool work as a prybar? Is the handle strong enough to handle prying forces? I’m building a car-kit of compact tools that can be pulled out and used on a pinch. Instead of a long 16-24” prybar, I think this, with different “prybar shaped” inserts would be great! Super compact and endless options. Got myself an induction heater so I can bend metal to any shape I want safely and quickly. So yeah, someone please do a prybar test on something heavy and let me know if it holds up. My biggest concern is, when trying to pry, the bit will just pop out of the handle which will be very dangerous
These bits aren't designed to pry, but to hammer.
For a car kit I'd recommend a small pry bar with a couple pieces of pipe that will nest together.
Think a 2' pry bar that would slide into a 2' piece of 3/4" steel pipe along with a 2' piece of 1.5" pipe to slide over the the 3/4". Would give you quite a bit of leverage in a small package.
Here is the thing though, SDS bits aren't cheap, why bother with the complexity of a SDS chuck handle when you can just buy actual masonry chisels for less, or with a carbide edge if you want spendy?
I’ll stick with a 4# maul and chisel or star chisel
How's the longevity? How hard you can hammer it? Does it rotate?
do you really want to pound on that? Can you? Is it bottoming out inside the handle?
You can absolutely pound on it with no issues
The SDS locking features take the load. They shouldn’t bottom out on the handle.
Why would anyone use a Philips demolition driver?
Knock off rust in a fastener
...❤👍
Slotted drive system WRONG. As it was invented by Bosch and Hilti S.D.S. Stands for Steck - Dreh - Sitz and now changed to Spannen Durch System. German invention
