Back issues, ouch. I suffered with back stuff from my 20’s , I was periodically plagued for 2 decades, getting so bad that I would be temporarily debilitated; then I found that acupuncture helped, since then I have enjoyed an equal amount of time without back problems!

Your perseverance and dedication to your goals is applaudable. I do have a question though about living in the woods. A topic most don’t seem to mention while showing these bucolic videos of the beauty of nature. Which I agree…nature is beautiful. But how do you deal with bugs and critters? Mosquitos, flies, ticks, other wild critters encroaching on your space? I remember a PBS series of modern day people going back to live like they did in the Pioneer days and the bugs were the most annoying and irritating part about it. Just wondering how y’all deal with that?

A great project. And with any great project, you need to first stabilize the structure. I hope you turn your attention to the roof and skylights, because leaks are like icebergs. What you see is usually only 10% of the issue. A stable structure brings more peace of mind than paint and plants. If you have to bring in an expert, then do it before you lose the entire roof to rot.
Be careful Alli on the heavy lifting...it will result in much faster muscular skeletal damage because as a women, you have less muscle mass. This is especially important if you want children because pregnancy really takes its toll on your body...especially your back. You guys both need to be conscientious about using leverage and machinery whenever you can to stay strong as you age...God bless!
I know you know, but: Backs feel indestructible when we are young. They are not. Be careful to protest it always. You will be glad you did as age marches on.

I might be missing something but I am confused as to exactly where you guys will be living. What are you doing with the cabin ? I assume you will be living full time in the A-frame. Love both places and can see you guys in either home. The surroundings of both places are so lovely.
Sorry for any confusion! To summarize: We don't have wifi or hardly any storage space at the cabin, so we previously kept a tiny apartment and two storage units which was unsustainable and we poured money into something we didn't own which felt wrong. We were craving to be closer to the cabin (as we do need a place with wifi for our work and somewhere to store more of our belongings and I also needed a place to grow my handmade goods business) but nothing was really feasible until this house. We plan to live at the cabin full-time now while renovating this one very slowly as time allows for. Once the cabin life feels truly fulfilled and we've completed this new place, we will make the move and tell the story of this chapter. I am so looking forward to things at the A-Frame like a successful and larger garden, more room in general, modern amenities, and perhaps some farm animals to further our self-reliance!
This has sparked so much hope and joy within me.. truly, I got butterflies watching this. I've seen many videos or documentations similar to this, but something rang so true for me with this one. I'm from New England, Mass to be specific, and so often I see journeys like this taking place far away from me. For some reason, it has created the illusion that my dream of building a life with a simple home in the woods is much too far away, too. But I dunno, something felt really special about this. I'm so happy for you guys and I appreciate you sharing your ongoing experience. It may have been the final hint from the universe that this was something meant for me and my family after all. Sweet girl...please be so careful with your back. When I was your age I did ALL the things to. Now I'm 64 and can't do anything. So seriously want you to be careful because one day you can and the next you can't.
Everyone who thinks or feels God doesn't care, is indifferent and or mean etc …. Why is the world as it is, evil everywhere… where is God and His faithfulness… God does judge sin which is evil and if people don't stop sinning they will die for that disobedience,that sin. When God said if you take from that tree you will die He was saying if you disobey, you sin, I will punish that sin because God does punish it, sickness, demons and death. And if you keep sinning I will punish you to the point of death, is that punishment. Sickness is a consequence of sin and it is a judgement God makes upon the people for their sin. All sickness takes its toll on the body and will result in death unless you stop sinning and that brings a reward from God for the righteous decision to stop sinning that brought that illness. Throughout scripture God tells us these things. God does love and there is mercy in His punishment too. He chastises those He loves. His wrath doesn't mean He doesn't love, it doesn't mean there is no mercy, it means He puts His law first and He obeys it first. He punished sin and then punishes sin and so forth and if someone doesn't stop sinning or sins more then that judgment is death just as He said, sin is death. Scripture says we are all responsible for working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Seek scripture, learn who He is and what He said to obey and do it. if you obey Him you live in blessings just like Deuteronomy 28 says and it also says disobedience is curses, that's sickness, demons possibly and again to continue in sin results in death. God told all the details, and paid for us to get out of sin and how we should live and when people don't live righteous then the world looks like it did in the days of Noah, violence, drunkenness and such lovers of self, pleasure and all sin and life apart from God, life in disobedience to God. Why should He bless sin? He punishes it then punishes sin more if someone keeps sinning. Is it tough people die from that choice they make, their sin and lack of seeking God to obey what He said, yes it hurts. How do you think God feels, He loved the world so much He gave His only begotten son and Yeshua died in agony for us to be out of that sin, taking God's wrath upon Himself so how do I think He feels, grieved so grieved but I know from scripture He always obeys what His word says, He never changes and that includes every word He said. Now Yeshua took God's wrath upon Himself for our sin Isaiah 53. We get peace with God and can come before Him to be heard and we get to be cleansed from our iniquities, sin. Just like the lamb sacrifices in the old testament Jesus was that for us a peace offering and forgiveness offering. We get freedom from that sinful past, from that sin and we get our healings because His stripes healed us from the consequences of sin. He gave us a way out. A way to start again out of that wrath. How loving is that God gave us His son who took God's wrath for us out of love. How loving just how loving is our God who made a way for us to be out of that wrath? Wrath we deserved by our sin and continued sin. But God so loved the world He gave us Yeshua. Yeshua gave His life to rise to life for us to give us new life. A new creation to begin again a new life, having been born again. Having received forgiveness for sin and a pardon from God's wrath, that very wrath you talk about. But God gave us a way out of His wrath when Yeshua our lamb paid for our sin. Again how loving is that our way out of God's wrath. Our new life. Our second chance to live rightly before our Holy righteous God our being born again to live right because God planned for us to not all receive His wrath yet His son for everyone, one for everyone and a way out, pardoned and free to live life righteous whole healed delivered, how loving oh so very loving that is. All that is in scripture too. Seek and find, learn who He is and obey and see more of it. Mark 4:24 the more you obey God the more He reveals to you, it means that. Matthew 6:33 live it daily and understand who He is and just how loving He always is and honestly how loved you are will be seen felt and KNOWN too. 💕 May you come to understand Him all your days seeking and finding and growing in the knowledge of God in Yeshua's name 💕 Praise God Almighty Thank You
Proud fellow owner of an A frame cabin in the woods here. We have zero land though, smallest lot in our little community but we love it regardless. No garden, roads on either side of our space. But it is just a five min walk to the lake. It’s a nice little place to getaway, just wouldn’t call it quiet. I just stumbled across your channel tonight. It’s so funny, I was just thinking how cluttered all your plants make your space and then you said that you didn’t want clutter lol I hope the plants bring you joy, but if they’re not, I think that the flow would be better in the room and your plants might be more appropriate for the homie area of the house. Also, I had a problem with my back last year and I saw Physical Therapist. She had me roll a towel so it’s about 4 inches high and lay flat on the floor and put it under my hips and relax into it for about 15 minutes once or twice a day. Works like a dream! And whenever I have a lower back tension, or I feel like my backs going to go out I do this technique for several days in a row. Hope this helps. Love what you’re doing with your space.
Your a girl after my own heart. I’ve always had a soft spot for a frame houses. You have learned a lot in a short time. You can do it! Do not underestimate the damage of water. One of the houses I bought there was a soft spot in the floor and I was pulling up the rug and going to fix it. What I am covered not only the soft spot being water damage but it was coming down the wall from an upstairs window which intern had damaged the whole wall. Everything had to be replaced. All because of a little water leak. But overtime it can cause huge amounts of damage. So I would get that Skylight fixed immediately
I can always spot a fellow witch from our pure love of nature and the desire to live tucked away somewhere surrounded by nature and away from a lot of people and energies. Your video popped up on my RUclips, likely because I love seeing other's living off the land, more simply etc. It's how I grew up, and I live much the same still but have a tv and computer now 😆. Then I realized seeing your in town home/office, we live in the same town 🙂, and recognized Kyle. That space was once Brown Oil, my grandfather's company. My father and uncle then owned and ran it until they sold it to another local heating and plumbing company. Then they sold to a much bigger company out of NY state, and that lot, garage space out back was sold. The #1 reason I came back to the area was the outdoors. I run my own business working with dogs, hiking packs. Endless hiking spots here. I leash walk my own dogs past your place often. Can't wait to now see what you do with the house after watching this video!
I love A frames!! My parents had a nice A frame built in the early 60's before I was born. It was located in the laurel highlands of Pennsylvania. It wasn't big but incredibly well built. No extensions on the sides. Beautiful hand built stone fireplace by a stone mason that would go up on sundays and build it with his kids in tow. I wish I was alive to see that. There's a beautiful keystone right above the opening of the fireplace on the main floor. Such wonderful fantastic memories!! I am So happy for you guys, I can see this as a wonderful warm cabin for you for a lifetime. I cannot wait to see the metamorphosis!! Enjoy the new adventure!! ❤😊 Love and well wishes from Idaho!

We were craving to be closer to the cabin (as we do need a place with wifi for our work and somewhere to store more of our belongings and I also needed a place to grow my handmade goods business) but nothing was really feasible until this house. We plan to live at the cabin full-time now while renovating this one very slowly as time allows for. Once the cabin life feels truly fulfilled and we've completed this new place, we will make the move and tell the story of this chapter. I am so looking forward to things at the A-Frame like a successful and larger garden, more room in general, modern amenities, and perhaps some farm animals to further our self-reliance!

This has sparked so much hope and joy within me.. truly, I got butterflies watching this. I've seen many videos or documentations similar to this, but something rang so true for me with this one. I'm from New England, Mass to be specific, and so often I see journeys like this taking place far away from me. For some reason, it has created the illusion that my dream of building a life with a simple home in the woods is much too far away, too.
But I dunno, something felt really special about this. I'm so happy for you guys and I appreciate you sharing your ongoing experience. Everyone who thinks or feels God doesn't care, is indifferent and or mean etc …. Why is the world as it is, evil everywhere… where is God and His faithfulness…
God does judge sin which is evil and if people don't stop sinning they will die for that disobedience,that sin. When God said if you take from that tree you will die He was saying if you disobey, you sin, I will punish that sin because God does punish it, sickness, demons and death. And if you keep sinning I will punish you to the point of death, is that punishment. Sickness is a consequence of sin and it is a judgement God makes upon the people for their sin. All sickness takes its toll on the body and will result in death unless you stop sinning and that brings a reward from God for the righteous decision to stop sinning that brought that illness. Throughout scripture God tells us these things. God does love and there is mercy in His punishment too. He chastises those He loves. His wrath doesn't mean He doesn't love, it doesn't mean there is no mercy, it means He puts His law first and He obeys it first. He punished sin and then punishes sin and so forth and if someone doesn't stop sinning or sins more then that judgment is death just as He said, sin is death. Scripture says we are all responsible for working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Seek scripture, learn who He is and what He said to obey and do it. if you obey Him you live in blessings just like Deuteronomy 28 says and it also says disobedience is curses, that's sickness, demons possibly and again to continue in sin results in death.
God told all the details, and paid for us to get out of sin and how we should live and when people don't live righteous then the world looks like it did in the days of Noah, violence, drunkenness and such lovers of self, pleasure and all sin and life apart from God, life in disobedience to God. Why should He bless sin? He punishes it then punishes sin more if someone keeps sinning. Is it tough people die from that choice they make, their sin and lack of seeking God to obey what He said, yes it hurts. How do you think God feels, He loved the world so much He gave His only begotten son and Yeshua died in agony for us to be out of that sin, taking God's wrath upon Himself so how do I think He feels, grieved so grieved but I know from scripture He always obeys what His word says, He never changes and that includes every word He said. Now Yeshua took God's wrath upon Himself for our sin Isaiah 53. We get peace with God and can come before Him to be heard and we get to be cleansed from our iniquities, sin. Just like the lamb sacrifices in the old testament Jesus was that for us a peace offering and forgiveness offering. We get freedom from that sinful past, from that sin and we get our healings because His stripes healed us from the consequences of sin.
He gave us a way out. A way to start again out of that wrath. How loving is that God gave us His son who took God's wrath for us out of love. How loving just how loving is our God who made a way for us to be out of that wrath? Wrath we deserved by our sin and continued sin. But God so loved the world He gave us Yeshua. Yeshua gave His life to rise to life for us to give us new life. A new creation to begin again a new life, having been born again. Having received forgiveness for sin and a pardon from God's wrath, that very wrath you talk about. But God gave us a way out of His wrath when Yeshua our lamb paid for our sin. Again how loving is that our way out of God's wrath. Our new life. Our second chance to live rightly before our Holy righteous God our being born again to live right because God planned for us to not all receive His wrath yet His son for everyone, one for everyone and a way out, pardoned and free to live life righteous whole healed delivered, how loving oh so very loving that is. All that is in scripture too. Seek and find, learn who He is and obey and see more of it. Mark 4:24 the more you obey God the more He reveals to you, it means that. Matthew 6:33 live it daily and understand who He is and just how loving He always is and honestly how loved you are will be seen felt and KNOWN too. 💕 May you come to understand Him all your days seeking and finding and growing in the knowledge of God in Yeshua's name 💕

Proud fellow owner of an A frame cabin in the woods here. We have zero land though, smallest lot in our little community but we love it regardless. No garden, roads on either side of our space. But it is just a five min walk to the lake. It’s a nice little place to getaway, just wouldn’t call it quiet. I just stumbled across your channel tonight. It’s so funny, I was just thinking how cluttered all your plants make your space and then you said that you didn’t want clutter lol I hope the plants bring you joy, but if they’re not, I think that the flow would be better in the room and your plants might be more appropriate for the homie area of the house. Also, I had a problem with my back last year and I saw Physical Therapist. She had me roll a towel so it’s about 4 inches high and lay flat on the floor and put it under my hips and relax into it for about 15 minutes once or twice a day. Works like a dream! And whenever I have a lower back tension, or I feel like my backs going to go out I do this technique for several days in a row. Hope this helps. Love what you’re doing with your space.

Your a girl after my own heart. I’ve always had a soft spot for a frame houses. You have learned a lot in a short time. You can do it! Do not underestimate the damage of water. One of the houses I bought there was a soft spot in the floor and I was pulling up the rug and going to fix it. What I am covered not only the soft spot being water damage but it was coming down the wall from an upstairs window which intern had damaged the whole wall. Everything had to be replaced. All because of a little water leak. But overtime it can cause huge amounts of damage. So I would get that Skylight fixed immediately

Your video popped up on my RUclips, likely because I love seeing other's living off the land, more simply etc. It's how I grew up, and I live much the same still but have a tv and computer now 😆. Then I realized seeing your in town home/office, we live in the same town 🙂, and recognized Kyle. That space was once Brown Oil, my grandfather's company. My father and uncle then owned and ran it until they sold it to another local heating and plumbing company. Then they sold to a much bigger company out of NY state, and that lot, garage space out back was sold. The #1 reason I came back to the area was the outdoors. I run my own business working with dogs, hiking packs. Endless hiking spots here. I leash walk my own dogs past your place often. Can't wait to now see what you do with the house after watching this video!

I love A frames!! My parents had a nice A frame built in the early 60's before I was born. It was located in the laurel highlands of Pennsylvania. It wasn't big but incredibly well built. No extensions on the sides. Beautiful hand built stone fireplace by a stone mason that would go up on sundays and build it with his kids in tow. I wish I was alive to see that. There's a beautiful keystone right above the opening of the fireplace on the main floor. Such wonderful fantastic memories!! I am So happy for you guys, I can see this as a wonderful warm cabin for you for a lifetime. I cannot wait to see the metamorphosis!! Enjoy the new adventure!! ❤😊 Love and well wishes from Idaho!
