I'm very new to making this videos, so I'm still figuring out how to improve the video quality. I'm filming on my phone, then splicing together the clips in the iMovie app on my iPhone SE. I think when I transfer the video file to my PC it's compressing the image quality, or it's happening in-app. If you have any insights or suggestions, let me know. Thanks again!
I got this about the same time last year. They were on sale for $299 and $199 clearance if you got lucky at SAMs club. Nice cab and I think this style is pretty rare compared to other Arcade1up cabinets. I think they were exclusive to SAMs club. Try getting some black or woodgrain screw hole caps or covers for the exposed screws on the sides. I went with black caps since I couldn't get the right woodgrain match. Makes a big difference in the way it looks. I little Loctite on the ball head will keep it from coming loose during play. Good luck with it!
It would not surprise me if my brother got them for $199; he has a nose for deals. 😂 Thank you for the recommendations re: the screw hole covers and the Loctite. I had the ball come off once during a game, so I really appreciate that suggestion. I need to go back and fix the base. In my haste to wrap up-I had to get my dog to the vet for her twice annual checkup-I left out two support bars. It doesn’t seem to affect anything, but I’d like to have it done right. I caught the home arcade bug 3-4 years ago so I have a lot of these cabinets in a game room that I built. But this PAC MAN cabinet is actually in my living room as the wood grain fits right in and I just wanted a cab or two easily accessible without going to the basement game room. Mine is holding up just fine along with my other Arcade 1up cabinets. They are decent cabinets - especially if you get them on a good sale. Not the best joysticks or buttons, but for casual gaming they are just fine. For me it's the whole nostalgia thing -- grew up in the 80s. @@tjcookmusic
The wood grain is really pretty, that’s for sure. That is awesome that you have a basement full of these cabinets, too! I get it-the nostalgia for that classic arcade environment/experience is strong. I’m definitely getting some Loctite for the joystick ball, too.
