Wife surprised me with this for Fathers Day. I gotta say, Im in love with it. Its my first cab. No complaints at all. I ordered the Tempest cab and its arriving in a few days. I can see this hobby getting expensive. Im already considering the head-to-head Ms. Pac Man next. Lord, help my wallet.... ; )
It been a problem with Arcade1UP with the cabs coming damaged and good to see that your Pac-Man is not damaged. I like the idea of being a vertical screen for games like Pac-Man, Galaga, Asteroids, and it's 4 way joystick. Love the cabs from Arcade1UP I just don't have the room for all of these cabs.
No one really mentions just how nice the audio is upgraded on this model. It has 2 speakers and true stereo for games that support it (Pacmania, Rompers). Nice touch!
Getting my dad one of these for the holidays. I've already got it. The big challenge will be me and my nephew sneaking into his garage to get it built and in place.
Doesn’t look like a namco machine., but it is alright I guess. Its nice that the lower portion can be removed for short people.. Why do they go with a deep cabinet? If it looked more like an original I get that but making it mount to the wall and make it shallower it would probably be cooler.. it would make taking three machines and connecting them together in a triangle shape.. . Biggest problem with real machines is how much real estate they take up.
Mine didn't come with a riser. It also wouldn't turn on. Tried every thing to power it up. Followed all the alternative methods and nothing. Very disappointed as this was for my autistic son to keep him.enrertained
I nor anyone else who has either the 40th edition, 1st wave, or either of the cocktail tables need this. The games here have been recycled by Arcade1up time and time again. The ONLY thing that this has to offer is the riser. That riser is NICE. It would be nice if the legacy riser was sold separately directly from their website.
Too short and not a proper replica. Should follow the original Midway that was about 5.67 feet tall and the screen position leaned back. And a printed rather than actual Coin Panel to make it rather silly. Especially for a $500 knock off.
Yeah it isn’t perfect. I got it at launch for $349. I guess current retail is now $449 which is honestly too high. Sometimes there are sales that you can get it for less. I have had it for a bit over a year now and it still plays fine (I had to tighten the joystick ball with vice grips because it kept coming loose). It really is just a replica/toy but I enjoy it.
Thanks for the detailed review. I am looking at getting this for my first 1up cab to. How tall are you, and do you find it easy to enjoy the smaller size as an adult?
I am 6’3”. I can play it fine, but I do have to lean over a little bit. I recently was able to buy the official PAC-Man stool from HSN about a month ago for about $35 which has been great.
I just bought my Namco Legacy Edition (PAC-MAN themed with no riser) from Walmart two days ago. I put it together yesterday and have been hooked since. The main games I play are PAC-MAN, PAC-MAN PLUS, Galaxian, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Dig Dug II. It’s a really fun way to play these arcade classics, especially considering I’m a big fan of these games and have wanted to own an Arcade1UP machine for a while. I’m currently saving up for the Arcade1UP Mortal Kombat machine. After that, I will probably get the NBA JAM machine since I played a lot of that, alongside Mortal Kombat on my Super Nintendo when I was a kid.
I just bought this same one, yours has a lit up Marquee. Mine didn't come with it, just a bit of wood with the Packman logo. Disappointed as its one of the features I wanted in mine. Is arcade 1up cost cutting ? :-(
I think there are two versions. One with a riser/lit up marquee and one without a riser/lit up marquee ( I think Walmart edition?) You may look into buying the lit up marquee part separately. I believe they are available.
My hubby and I just put together(last night) Pac-Man Bandai Namco Legacy 12-1. I have the Ms. Pac Man Arcade 1up(bought it about a month ago). It took us 3.5 hours the first time(Ms. Pac Man) and about 2.5 hours the second time(Pac Man). I have to admit that I love my Pac Man better than Ms. Pac Man. It's seems smoother and I love the game selection, especially Galaga. I hadn't played it in years!! Anyway, we got Ms. Pac Man with riser for $246 from Walmart. Pac Man with riser was on sale for $299(Walmart), both with lit marquee.
I really want a pacman cab, but I'm holding out to see Pacman, Ms. Pacman and Galaga all on the same Cabinet. My game room is only so big so I need to be picky.
Can’t imagine why anyone would want the action buttons on the left side of joystick 🕹 . This thing would of been perfect if it had ms pac man and galaga88 but nope maybe they will come out wit a super legacy edition next month with it
Those would be awesome. For me I just usually played these older games with my right hand on the joystick and my left over the action button. They often had a fire button on either side of the stick on original machines. It was more of a nitpick comment more than anything else.
You would think Coke would want their logo shown in Pac-Man Plus. I would imagine that Arcade 1up might have wanted money to show the logo for the advertising. Who knows. If they were worried about Coke suing them, they could have probably contacted them and gotten permission.
Here is the official one. I believe it has been discontinued. arcade1up.com/collections/cabinets/products/bandai-namco-entertainment-legacy-edition-arcade-cabinet
I need some help! I just got my namco bandai cabinet and the splash screen sound is fine but whenever I play a game you can barely hear the game even though the volume is all the way up. I think the wiring is fine because the intro sounds work fine. Is there something I'm missing?
Try unplugging the Speaker and plugging it back in while the machine is on and twist the speaker wire a bit to see if you can hear a difference. That worked for me on my Xmen v St. Fighter when the volume was low even though I had it all the way up to "15".
This is my sixth cab and my last , quality is going downhill ,, couldnt hardly get a screw in the riser without it stripping ,, the yellow in the coin slot on the coin door I don’t understand at all , this company stepping up their game in some areas and dropping in others is still going nowhere
@ Andrea-It does take about 3 to 4 hours to put together. All these "pros" saying 30 minutes to complete, just isn't true. The riser alone takes about 20 minutes. Be prepared. It's not difficult but it isn't easy as many people say.
I really love the design of this... I've looked at actual cabs but they are always kind of damaged... Thinking of getting one to dip my feet in, and may switch out the control sticks and mod it... but kind of worried about the height! I'm 6'4"... is this thing going to be killing my back?
I received my Pac-Man Legacy cabinet on March 31. I purchased it from Best Buy...I was a little disappointed that it did not include a "light up deck protector" which had always been an exclusive of Best Buy. Much like the video...it took me 2.5 hours to assemble completely by myself. A few pointers on the assembly...if you have a second person to hold some things still a few times, that will help. Also, it says that you should NOT use an electric drill. However, if you have a variable speed drill...and you know what you're doing...that would be helpful. I think the fear is that you shouldn't over-tighten the screws which could crack the cabinet.
I found the hardest part of the assembly was attaching the screen to the side panels. Had to start the screw holes myself and my hands were too big to fit in that small space. Other than that, it was a lot less frustrating than I thought it would be!
Initial Lives, Bonus Lives (scores), Difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Very Hard), Demo Sound (on/off), Pixel Smoothing (on actually makes it look blurry, kind of like a loss in resolution). The difficultly seems to add more enemy bombs.

Nothing wrong with enjoying life! You do you man!
My wife got me socks for Christmas. 😐
Good review. It would of been nice to have a more recessed monitor.
Be great if they put Bosconian on these cabinets
It has Super Pac Man and Pac & Pal but no Ms. Pac Man?!
No, you have to buy that cabinet separately. I have both cabinets.
Just bought the 40th anniversary machine. Thankfully i didnt open it yet so im taking it back tomorrow and getting this for sure.
I’m just swapping the art for mine. I like the wood grain more than I should
Awesome review. I was curious to see what the start up screen on pacman would be. The black packaging is awesome.
I think my Neo Geo MVSX might need a new friend :)
That MVSX is still the crown jewel.
Much better value than the ones that came out before it! This one has a lot of variety.
Are high scores saved even when the power is turned off ? In Pac-Man can you enter initials ? Top 5 ? Top 10 ? Thx
Yes, the scores are saved even after the machine is turned off and unplugged. Pac-Man does not have initials input. Many of the other games do.
It been a problem with Arcade1UP with the cabs coming damaged and good to see that your Pac-Man is not damaged. No problems with mine at all.....thick cardboard for the outer box and everything was tightly packed on the inside.
I was thinking please play galalga....
Right...I have this arcade 1up and Galaga is frickin amazing!!!! OMG! One of my favorites.
Hi im a subscriber.
Does this pac man bandai namco legacy edition cabinet have WiFi ?
Thank you.
Anybody knowledgeable please reply soon.
This one does not. Sorry for the really late response.

Jeez, why is it ONLY with the Namco cabs that the audio in most of the games is slightly higher in pitch than it should be?
I guess I do not know the games well enough to notice.
PACLAND!! This game I had on the Commodore 64 as a kid. Even more reason to get this arcade
I just got the MK2 legacy w 12 games
Beautiful cabinet, looks great , enjoy your new arcade, by the way you can’t just get one, I tried now I have six
truth, started with 1, have 4 now
Real talk. I bought Ms.Pac Man and then not even a month later, I got Pac Man. Hubby said, 'no more'. lol
True! I have 9 - but I'm thinking of downsizing with the Pac Man Legends - as it has Galaga/Galaxian on it, so I could sell that AND my Pac Man cab.

That is a real bummer! I hope that you got a replacement or a refund. I believe the cheaper edition from Walmart does not have a riser.

This cabinet is awesome. All it needs is Sanwa controls to be better. Artwork is what sold me on this one.

I would love to have it, but I'm a little nervous about putting it together. Is it easy to assemble? What kind of tools do you need?

Yes, it saves the scores.

No. It is basically a sticker.
