Talli Faye I absolutely love cabbage rolls. My mom never made them growing up and it could have been because most small children don’t like cabbage because of the smell of it cooking. But after we were grown there was an opening of a Lebanese steak house that served hummus that was delicious along with cabbage rolls seasoned with their seasonings and they tasted wonderful. There was allspice in them and of course lemon and garlic, salt and pepper. I went to cosmetology school with a Lebanese woman who was a wonderful cook and she made grape leaf rolls that were similar to a cabbage roll. You used so much seasoning, all that I love so I know I would love your recipe. I often cook them in tomato juice if I have it on hand and then season up the juice adding ketchup on top. The juice just keeps the moisture level up and helps add steam. I still cover with foil like you did too. Love your videos and you! So glad you started your channel. Do you ever make SOS? The best kraut I have ever made was with winter cabbage(savoy)! I soured it in a five gallon churn. I put it in the house and set it by the deep freezer where the heat helped keep it warm enough to ferment.
I couldn't stand cabbage when I was a kid. But I do love my cabbage rolls. Loved this video! You must have homemade mashed potatoes and definitely NO CHEESE!
Talli up north we take and core the center out of the cabbage and put the hole cabbage in a big pot of boiling water and steam it ..a”And then take it out and put it in a colander to cool then peel leaves off… Then take the meat mixture of pork,ground beef, veal mixture and add some rice in the meat too … yummm And then u add tomatoes over the top and if u want some more juice in them we add tomatoe sauce or juice … Your way looks just as good too !!!! 😋💚love watching your channel look forward to u everyday 💚

Miss Talli Faye my momma made the best cabbage rolls, her secret was lining the pot with pork baby back ribs. She mixed ground beef, onion powder, garlic Powder, uncle Ben's rice, half a 12 oz can of V8, salt and pepper. Roll it in the cabbage leaves, layer it in the pot lined with ribs, put diced up remaining cabbage between the layers with sauerkraut and diced tomatoes. When finished mix tomato paste with the cabbage water from cooking it and top the pot off with it, finally add a diced green apple to the top, bake for 3 hours and serve with sour cream and the ribs. Make sure you cook the ribs in the tomato liquid and sauerkraut juice combo. She got the recipe from her German uncle who ran a German restaurant in Washington.

I made it through! 😂 Happy New Year! ❤ my mom who was Polish decent made hers on the stovetop in a huge pot with a bit of fresh dill in the meat mixture smoked pork in the pot with the cabbage rolls, she also put a cup of tomato paste, brown sugar and vinegar mixture added to the pot. ❤I make them still about once a year..

You should try and use Campbell's tomato soup and poor it over the top of your cabbage rolls. Don't add any milk or water in it. Just use it straight out of the can. It is so yummy!!!
