When you were cooking it reminded me of Mammason. As a small child my father was in the military. We lived in Fukoka Japan. As part of a program for the morale of military wives, the Air Force base commander at the time offered a housekeeper one or two days a week. So the housekeeper they sent was a woman who was married, but for some reason she had never had children. We called her Mammason, and her husband who often came with her and helped her with her job, he was Pappason. She became very attached to me, and our families grew to be very close. I was quite a toehead which the Japanese people at the time were quite fascinated by. Her husband would load me up on his shoulders and the two of them would take me all sorts of places. And because of my hair color I received a lot of attention. Which as a small child. This was around 1960. But she made a fried rice with lots of cabbage and cut up ham. I just loved it. And she taught my mother how to make it. I don’t know how authentically Japanese it was. But it was her version. I still make it myself to this day. Watching you make that sautéed cabbage for your egg rolls brought back memories of Mammason, pappason, both my parents, and the birth of my younger sister that occurred during that period of time we lived in Japan.
I appreciate and enjoy your videos. I get so excited when I see a new video pop up! Your recipes are always so good and they never cost a fortune to make!! Thank you so much for some fresh ideas.
thank you for showing us how to make egg rolls, I have been thinking about making some my self but had no idea how to fold them so thank you. I think a pinch of ginger and a small pinch of curry powder would have set them off perfectly.
Thank you so much for these recipes, and I never knew about Bacon up. I'm so happy you showed us this stuff. Sent my daughter to grocery and she picked some up and the stuff to make these recipes today. We love you and that you take the time to teach us all new things. Please don't ever stop.
GIRL, MY MOUTH was watering the minute you started talking about the ingredients!! Holy Cow!! I’m absolutely making this, my 96 yr old father will love it!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Your KeyLime friend 💕🙏🙏
Your recipe looks wonderful and easy to make! I’m trying this soon! Thank you for showing us this recipe . I love watching your recipes and your a fantastic cook!
Oh my goodness! That looks delicious! I can smell it cooking now and my mouth is watering! I bet it freezes good too! Gonna make me some! Thanks for always having good dishes! God bless you and yours! ❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼
That is a delicious dinner! Never knew gas stoves change temperature that fast. You blew my mind throwing the rice into the skillet w/the rest. Didn't think there was enough liquid. I've embarked on many a crunchy rice expeditions myself. Also, that was really a nutritious meal. Thx for posting . God bless.
I was a little concerned myself 🤣🤣🤣… I left the lid on it for 15-20 minutes before I ever lifted it off lol… It was a very pleasant surprise 😊😊 God Bless you too ♥️
Man, that pepper was GARGANTUAL! I just about died laughing when you said that. I didn't know you could buy already-tenderized beef. I'm gonna get me some of THAT, if I can find it. I'm gonna try making egg rolls, too. I won't be scared, ok?! 😂
TalliFaye, I sure wish I lived close to you😁. I could just drop in for dinner. This meal sure had my mouth watering. I'm going to get me some egg roll wrapper tomorrow. I have half a head of cabbage & cauliflower, green onions. Need bell pepper & garlic. Wow, can't wait. Have a blessed sabbath 🌈💚🙏💚🌈
Another triumph in the kitchen. Looks amazing and so tasty! Thanks for sharing your skills as always! I’ve never made egg rolls before but you’ve given me the confidence to try them. I’m going to serve mine with some sweet and sour sauce. I also had a thought about the beef dish and that is to add a tsp or two of Asian five spice mix to the sauce for an even more Asian flavor plus a couple of tbsps of plum preserves to that sauce also for a sweeter flavor. Have an amazing day and looking forward to watching more of your videos! Your fan in Phoenix-Terry❤😊
I want to make this pepper steak. The water chestnuts will be a great texture. Tonight I'm making sweet and sour pork with leftover pork roast and store-bought eggrolls.
