I recently bought the dwe 4277 and found thin discs can't be used because of the gap Left between the backing flange and locking flange. While the manual states the maximum disc thickness that can be used is 6mm, there's no mention or diagram showing you can flip the locking flange to secure thin discs, so am I correct in assuming that only 6mm discs can be used?

Interesting video. I just bought the DCG418 grinder. It comes without a type 1 guard and I cannot find these guards on the DeWALT website or anywhere else on the internet. What is the product code for the 4.5 inch type 1 guard? I need this code to be able to order the right kind of guard.

When you installed the cup wheel, it appears that the guard is lower than the wheel. Hence, not able to flat grind.
How do you remove backing flange.
So where are we supposed to buy a type 1 guard when they don’t appear on the website…!

This is the worst instruction application from a factory I have ever seen. I agree, see if you can get him to talk faster and move the camera further away from the grinder.
Really - why go to the trouble of making a demo video with a such far away framing of the image. We don't even see what he is doing! Unsubscribing!

This didn’t help me AT ALL! I can’t unscrew the stupid wheel.
This video is hysterically awful. I suppose it could be worse if you moved the camera a little bit further away (is that possible) and covered the mic with a big old wet boot. Perhaps, this video makes sense to somebody who already knows all about the grinder and how to use it. But, then, why would that person want to watch this video? For those of us who do not fall into that category and are hoping to learn about the product for the first time, this is nearly gibberish. With no video close-ups, the narrative might just as well have been, "Then, take this thing and put it where it is supposed to be placed and do this thing that you can’t possibly see, because the camera is so far away." So, not so helpful! For the record, I just spent $350 on DeWalt DCG413 kit. I have lots of DeWalt tools and love them. I can’t wait to use this one . . . but I’m going to have to watch some videos made by someone else.
