- Some grinders, like the Makita, HiKOKI, Milwaukee and Erbauer require no preparation before using a MAXVAC dust shroud, however, some grinders do require small preparations.
In this video, we cover DeWalt grinders and show you what to look out for when preparing your grinders for the MAXVAC shroud range.

Thank you VERY much for these tips. I was able to fit a 5” DasTool shroud DT1701-125D to a DeWALT DCG416 by just removing the guard release lever and spring.
Thank you so much for this, it was was exactly what I needed to know, having just bought a dewalt grinder and finding my existing shroud didn't fit, was worried that if I took that screw out the spring would fly off. Now see up perfectly. 👍

Still can’t get the shroud to install because of that spring loaded latch mount is protruding in the way
Hello, the video does explain how to remove the latch mounts. Once removed, the ring will only fit one way up in order to prevent the latch mount fouling on the ring. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further help.
You didnt show us installing the shroud neither a cutting guard what a useless video its logical when we have a screw in our way to remove it what different this video showing fuking junk

Just use the dewalt shroud. Then there’s no need to remove any of the springs, or the lever.
The Harber fleight universal shroud does not work on this style DeWalt - the clamp/adapter won't hold even if you take the factory shroud latch and wave spring off - don't buy the HF unit
