Hi, couldn't watch the whole thing....(maybe you covered this) But why do you have a Donner receiver in all of your fixtures? All you need is one fixture to receive the DMX signal and then link the others together with DMX XLR cables. You're using 4 Donner Receivers when you only need one! Anyway glad things are working for you.
Man you are a life saver. My lights were doing super jerky movements and either the firmware update or changing the channel fixed the problem! Thank you
I have been struggling with Mdmg, |I nearly gave up until I found your video. I had problem connecting my ADJ Wifly, but now it seems to be working. Great help. Thanks.
Awesome Kev so glad to help in a small way! It really is a great device that can be lots of fun (as long as you can get past some of the little issues)

I had resorted to my v Android tablet for anything to happen BUT now.. Back in my Ipad-YES!! Thanks sooo much for your time and insightful tutorial. Peace and Prosperity, DJ Graham Coastal NC
What do you think of those 110s on the dance floor with color wash. I have Hex fx and My 260s are nice, but they take time and heavy to hang. You got a great setup! What moving would you recommend? Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Mine used to work without major problems but last time I tried in October it would not stay connected. I switched over to my Soundswitch which I had but had never setup before. Will try these suggestions to see if it will fix the issues.
I have used this a few times and I know lots of DJs are having problems with the connections. Some great advice you have given on this video. Will try some of these options. Thanks Lee
Long but worth it. Very thorough and helpful. Just purchased MYDMXGO and Chauvet wireless xmiter/receiver dungle set. Just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the video.
Thanks to your incredibly thorough coverage on so many topics in this video you absolutely saved me hours of farting around with instructions etc. And most certainly you sure helped me troubleshoot some issues I had initially trying to set up my system. As you say, this system has some limitations but for me, the absolute convenience of it allows me a huge range of options outside most people's patience on a simple dmx board... wow! It's amazing! Hard to beat for regular mobile DJ setups. Cheers, I definitely owe you a few beers if I ever venture your way or you come to Melbourne in Victoria, Austalia!! Definitely a fan!
Thanks so much- so glad it helped you! I agree that this is a really powerful tool and with a little tweaking, it can be near rock solid and dependable for lots of scenarios! I may take you up on that invite :) Cheers!
Hi 🙋♂️ so far your a lifesaver . I updated the firmware it was over a year older! Then I was on channel 6 and I changed it to channel 11 and stored the changes . Now I’m onto hooking up the lights to it again . Keeping my fingers crossed as I’ll follow the second half of your video Awesome 👏
bare in mind connectivity from your dmx go to the iPad could be getting interference from the electrical from you're DJ controller, I know having it in the case its all tidy and put away but having it out the case could save you a lot of issues
Was going to say the same. You have a mass of cables in there that could be resulting in a lot of EMI. Power and signal lines should be separate of each other.
Thanks for the video Kevin. We have almost the identical lighting setup except I have the spot 260s. The wash fx 2 are one of my favorite lights they are so bright and really wash the venues I’m at. I love your idea with the clear preset. I’m going to make one for sure. Great job man. And keep up the good work
very good video for beginners.... and I know that the presets are set and they have motion... especially for the movers...my question is, how do you create those on your own , like for other presets... how do you create the MOTION,....???
John, thanks! Great question- I think this is the best tutorial I’ve seen on how to do that - ruclips.net/video/BsH-iUaLJkU/видео.html but I know there are others :)

Great video! Is there an automatic showmode in DMX Go like a sound to light that you can get in many spots? Everything seems to be manual and singular. I dont want to have to unplug dmx go to use the automatic showmode already installed in my spotlights. Many thanks.
Hey thanks! Yep there is a way to trigger the auto mode, you have to go in to the manual DMX settings and trigger them. It’s a little detailed but not too tough to figure out . I rarely did this because I found that the built in capabilities in the My DMX Go were good enough for me
Hi Scott. I literally used the MyDMXGo last night and the night before. It's been rock solid. I literally only had one issue since I added the fixes in the video... and this was because the software forced a firmware update (dirty trick by them!) -- but nothing I couldn't quickly overcome before the event. Yes I could daisy chain. But my thinking is that I bring additional redundancy to the design -- in case one of the DMX receivers dies, I've got another light )(or more) going. Also, sometimes I'm positioning lights in different locations -- would be a pain to tie together for a daisy chain in those scenarios.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thanks, so the reason why I'm asking is I may end up using these for a permanent install. They will be on the same electrical circuit as the lighting so at the flip of the switch everything when that circuit will lose power. My concern again is if I put back on the power that I have to reset up these units for whatever color or just powering them on.
@@LoSukhram-DJLoLyfe gotcha! They remember which color (channel) they were set to before powering off, I think they will work well for you in the application.
Thank you so much !! I have been trying to figure out what was wrong with myDMXgo setup. I had a 2019 update and I was able to fix it. Awesome video and thanks for sharing.
Hello, I'm new to the DJ world just bought a Denon DJ SC Live 4 as I won a deal in my area. Even though I'm a complete beginner I went for SC live 4. So for lighting, this is what I understood:- 1 Get the offline music in your pc on engine DJ then auto-generate the light thing, export the music to USB then connect to SC live 4 2 Depending on the lights you got Hue or DMX make sure they are either connected via USB if DMX or Hue hub. If DMX is not wireless purchase the DMX wireless adapter and connects to the SC LIVE 4 USB. 3 (a)In SC live 4 make sure the USB is selected for music, (b)Go to lightning settings and select the. hue or DMX whichever you're using. My questions Will you please correct if any of the above points are wrong and Can I use DMX lights without wifi- so daisy chain and then pick anyone DMX light to connect via wire to SC live 4, or thats not possible? Can I also connect both Hue and DMX at the same time? Do I need to press something on SC Live 4 to do that lastly does the music always have to be exported to USB for lights to sync with the music, or can this be done on the fly using Serato DJ pro or any other app on pc playing music via let's say SoundCloud connected to SC live 4?
congrats! Honestly I think you should play with the controller and the lights, and try it out. Tinkering is something most DJ's do -- fumble through it and figure it out, is what I think is the best way!
Can you send the links to your laptop arm stand and IPad clip on stand and also your WiFi transmitter and receiver? I have nearly the same setup as you!! Same controller, case, MacBook Pro, spot 110’s, plus chauvet mini kintas and dual RGB laser. Will the Mydmx go control mini kintas and lasers?
Awesome! Sure here’s the arm: www.amazon.com/Fleximounts-Laptop-Monitor-10-17-3-Notebook/dp/B07CNQNJM4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=83407384478&gclid=CjwKCAiAv_KMBhAzEiwAs-rX1BMUG8wt-HyHhD_yswy3tT3HE-jtOCkgCJyLDz5P5CV2acJoOXMmShoC_VgQAvD_BwE&hvadid=395024365181&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9015702&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=15618905276043710172&hvtargid=kwd-474108271652&hydadcr=1089_9934838&keywords=fleximounts+laptop+arm&qid=1637672042&sr=8-3 The iPad holder is a Stage Ninja brand - I purchased from Sam Ash (local store) I’m not sure about your other lights but I will say that if it can be controlled via DMX, you can make it work!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thanks! So could I essentially put both wash fx2 at the same channel address and daisy chain them and have my dmx go control as if it was one light? In other words both lights respond with the same wash effect?
You might be able to get by with that but I would setup each wash fx fixture as a separate channel - you’ll get much more control and better light shows! What I do is this: on the first wash fx2, set it to 28 channel DMX mode, and set the base address to 1. On the second fx2, set it to 28 channel DMX mode, and set the base address to 29. In your MyDMXGo app, you setup your first fx2 for the addresses 1-28, and the second as 29-56.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thanks I’m about to get it. My confidence level is rising lol! So I don’t have the wireless Donners yet.. those are coming, but if I set those up how would I split off of the My Dmx Go to send signals to the separate channels? So even daisy chaining still wouldn’t work in this case?
@@emeraldcitydjgil cool! The wireless donners works a little like a hub and spoke system, to my knowledge . The one transmitter, which you attach to the myDMXGo, is the hub. All the receivers that you plug into your lights all simultaneously receive the same signal from the one transmitter. As long as you have the donners all on the same “color” (channel) all your lights should work fine!
Good advice on the mydmx go interface unit wireless issues. I have mine plugged directly into a Lixada DMX512 Wireless Controller box, which I've found more reliable than the Donner transmitters, though as always YMMV. So far I've had no interference issues between the my dmx go interface and DMX512 Wireless Controller, possibly because their antennas are positioned at right angles. My setup differs from yours in one major respect: I have my dmx go set up in Dual Mode rather than Access Point, and I use a wifi router to mediate the connection between the my dmx go interface unit and my tablet. In my experience, using the my dmx go interface as a wifi client provides a more reliable wifi connection than using it as a wifi server, though with Dual Mode, I have the option of connecting directly to it with my tablet. The additional advantage to this setup is that my wifi router can also provide internet access to my tablet. One big heads up for Windows users: I've found the latest version of Light Rider Hardware Manager fails to access the my dmx go interface under Windows 7, but does work with Windows 10.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures Love to see how you set that up. THinking of switching to either a airport express or using mifi instead of the onboard networking.
Great question. I’m not sure if wireless lighting interfaces will work with my DM Mexico, however, it’s definitely worth a shot. I use Donners on all of my lights, even ones with or internal wireless. I guess just from a consistency standpoint and also, so I can keep everything in the same universe.DMX universe that is.
Thanks so much for the video, it's helped a lot. Wondering if you can answer this Presets question for me. Is there a way to isolate fixers? Let's say I have two washes that I want to set with presets that are simple color changes. So preset 1 is blue, 2 is red, 3 is green, etc. Can I still run the movers randomly while switching between presets for the washes? I feel like the answer is no, but I am curious if it's possible. It is through regular DMX programs if you don't have any of the mover channels selected and just program the washes. DMXGO might not be that intuitive, but am curious if there is a work around.
Sure Ryan! I think I understand what you’re asking and yes it’s possible. For each preset MDG allows you to set the color palette, then you can go into the setting for the individual movers in the fixture editor and set to a different pattern or color.
Please can you confirm about how I can control ambient lighting such as uplighting with mydmxgo. If I can do this easily then it will be the one I go for.
Hey Craig! I don’t use MDG to work with my uplighting (because I use Ape Labs - and I use their controller device). However I have seen a few examples of folks controlling uplighting and dance lights at the same time with their MDG. Really anything that is DMX-able can be controlled just fine!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thanks Kevin. I would really like to see how dj's are controlling the uplighting with mydmxgo. Any idea of a video that shows this? Also can you confirm are there events where you will use Ape for uplighting at the same time as using mydmxgo for other lighting? Just wondered how it would work having 2 dmx systems working at the same time at an event - how do you manage it?
@@craigparry282 hmmm can’t recall who I saw do this but I’m confident I’ve seen it and also i could replicate if I needed to. You will be be fine as long as the lights are DMX-able! Almost every event (you can see examples in my gig logs) - I use my Ape Labs uplights alongside myDMXgo. The Ape Labs native controller system is not open DMX - it’s a closed RF system that you interact with using the Ape Labs remote. (They do make a DMX controller actually but I don’t have it). I’ve not run into any issues running both systems simultaneously. :)
Wow so I did a firmware update on my device . I set my lights to 12 channel and set the dmx address on light bar. It worked flawlessly and I tested it everyday for 2 days . PERFECT Then I get to wedding and it would not connect to the iPad . Very very frustrating device . Not sure whether to sell it or keep trying
Ah man that’s a bummer. I honestly haven’t had any outages like that since I made adjustments- I would verify that the update didn’t switch your WiFi channel back to default and that everything is setup correctly . But other than that 🤷♂️
Great Video. I have the airstream bridge which I am pretty comfortable with. It can also have some connection issues if you get to far away and I have found the Donner sticks are pretty reliable although if the do not connect at first powering them off and then back on usually works. Been considering the MY DMX GO for 1 reason. In the sound active mode with the ADJ AIRSTREAM, which I use a lot, the mic used is actually on each individual light which means the are not in sync. Looks cool especially if you are in the same color but not as cool as the program colors change. I believe you can get a little more into shows with various scenes with the Airstream but the MY DMX GO has the the mic on the hardware unit which should allow lights to be in sync. Glad to see someone else taking the time to program lights for a variety of shows. A lot of work but it pays of in the end.
Thanks for the great video! My question is, do you have any tips for creating a simple light show for moving heads? How do you know which position to and steps to add to the light show? Thanks for the help!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures Thanks for the quick reply but my question was more around the best way to program a shoe/creating a show. I know how to run the app it's just I don't know what the best practices are for building a how. Does that make sense?
@@clem1167 ah yes, makes sense. I learned the basics through watching a few videos and playing around. I wouldn’t say I have any real tips except I started simple with just some basic patterns (like the swimmer pattern) and save my presets.
Hey, I use the Donner wireless DMX units - the transmitter (in my DJ case) requires a power line, the receivers (attached to the lights) are rechargeable battery. BUT I got tired of charging them so i attached their power charging cord directly into my lights :) These aren’t the exact version I have but they’re close - www.amazon.com/Donner-Wireless-Receiver-Transmitter-Lighting/dp/B00URFJ0MM/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=wireless+donner+dmx&qid=1612473363&sr=8-5

I've been on the fence about buying one for a while now. My question for you is have you experienced connection problems that alot of people seem to have, and in your opinion do you still think it's worth buying today?
Hey! I did experience connectivity issues and was frustrated at first, but then after research and experimentation, I figured out the critical factors (that I mention in the video) and haven’t had any issues! I would definitely recommend that this is buying today but would say 2 things: don’t buy unless you’re ok with the items I mention in the video, otherwise I think you won’t have predictable performance. Second - if you want to get into serious DMX then you should skip this and look for another solution. But if you want easy and awesome DMX capability, that helps especially for mobile DJs working by themselves, go for it!
This seems like a cool device! Is there a way you can write the instructions for set up? Also do we need internet on pad to work the app. And how do I download hardware. I’ve been working 3 days on this with no results the my dmx go box didn’t bring any instructions and the website manual is not helping at all. Thank you!!
I’d say try to follow some good videos on how to setup. I list a good one in my video description, which talks about adding your fixtures etc. you do not need internet in your table in fact, if you’re using iOS /Apple, you need to connect the WiFi from the iPad to the Mymdxgo. This is how I set mine up in my video. Best of luck to you!!
I’m not sure but I know a couple DJs who show up and try out a channel - if they can’t connect or have a fast drop out, they move to another and try. Like a manual trail and error method.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures I was at a venue last night. Worked fine until the party started. Then my dongle switched from L1 to 01 and had a horrible time refreshing. Kept timing out. Are you running in Dual mode, Station, or access point?

What Does the DMX channel on the light fixture need to be at , myDMXgo went to channel 17 on its own after I connect to its WiFi but my light fixture is not reacting it’s on channel 1 D001
Hey Richard you have to set up your fixtures inside of the myDMXgo app. Each fixture should have a set number of channels, for example eight channels or 12 channels. Then you can move the fixture around inside of the app to start at whatever DMX address you’d like. Just make sure to then go back to the light and set the starting DMX channel to the same. Hope that helps!
As I mention in the video, it's important to remove the networks OR disable their auto join, so that the iPad is not trying to join those networks while connected to the myDMXGo. This resolved some problems others were having with drop outs, and has helped me keep the unit operational and rock solid. Hope that helps.
Cool ideas . I just did a wedding and the DMX go would not sync up. I was so pissed off I stopped using it at last wedding. I mounted the DMX go to the lighting tripod with a mount. Maybe I’ll try putting it next to the iPad like you said and see if it’s better . Good tip 😎👌👍🎵🎶

Hi! I see You know a lot about this. I just bought the MyDmx Go and I wanted to connect different fixtures with Donner Wireless Dmx. Is that possible? I have 2 Chauvet 255 Irc, a Chauvet Scorpion Dual RGB Laser, and a smoke machine. My question is: Do I have to connect them all with Dmx cables? Or I can use different donner receivers, and not use any dmx cable at all? I don't know if that is possible. Thank You very much!! I can't see in your video clear, if the washes and the moving heads are connected with dmx cable, or just using Donner receivers with different dmx addresses.
Thanks.. best of luck to you! I'm not sure about these fixtures, but most basic lights should work. Wired or wireless with a donner DMX transmitter, shouldnt matter -- both do the same thing, just send the dmx signal from the MyDMXgo to the fixtures. I've always used donners :)

I use an iPad as you can see in the video. I think it works great as long as you take the steps to avoid WiFi connectivity issues. Some folks have chosen an android tablet so that you can connect directly to the myDMXGo unit and avoid WiFi, which is another option. Good luck man!!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thank you for your reply sounds like a good option to get a direct line from dmx go and android I didnt think that was possible
Thanks for this great video and explanation. Looks like an awesome lighting setup. Please can you provide links for the wireless dongles and patch lead you use for the transmitter. Also can I just confirm that you can use MyDMX Go with a non Apple tablet device?
Hey thanks! I love MyDMXGo, works great for my mobile setup. The wireless dongles are just the Donner brand, 1 gen back from the current model that you can buy on Amazon. And I just bought a simple DMX patch cable from Amazon - for the extension. No specific brand
We have had nothing but problems with both of our MYDMXGO units since day one. What's odd is you never see any hype about it anymore on RUclips nor does it seem like ADJ wants to support it anymore. Also, what's the point in Wireless Freedom if you have to keep it inches from the dongle? Seems pointless. Glad at least yours is working ok for you.
Sorry to hear that- seems like you’re correct about ADJ not being hyper focused on supporting the platform. It’s a shame because it is very easy and fun (assuming you can get past issues).
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures yes sir! Its a hit and miss with this program! My good ole ADJ DMX OPERATOR board paired with the Donners never lets me down though!
As you mentioned at 20minutes, the connection is a pain. You can't be to the internet & the My DMXgo interface at the same time because iPads do not have 2 separate network cards. So your lights will disconnect and freeze on the last setting they were at. Very annoying. I wish they would continue the scene or allow a way to control the lights from the hardware.
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures And also, there should be a way the unit stores the scenes. I've combed the internet for this information and found nothing lol Other than that, it's a great product to have!

Just got the mydmx go app. One thing i haven’t figured out is how to just do solid colors. I have the Rockville Rockwedge uplights but how can i access all 32 colors within the app? Seems like the app is more for fx than just wanting solid colors?
Hey, cool that you got one. To be honest I don’t use it for solid colors however you can do it! Two ways I can think of - first, make a show choosing the color you want from the color wheel, turn off or slow down all the motion, and save the scene for later- and possibly use the snowflake to freeze the scene if needed. A better bit more sophisticated option would be to go into the Fixtures and manually set the bars to the color combination you want for each rock wedge (or the entire group) and then save that scene. With this approach you can access all the features of the lights btw. However you may have some trouble getting the settings to freeze / lock in for you. Best of luck!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures appreciate the help and recommendations on the Presets Setting up the lights to a specific color is how I’d usually start the night off so i will configure this first. Now my next question if I’m using uplights do i have to have each light connected with a receiver dongle? I’m wanting to avoid plugging and running say 18 receiver dongles to each light lol. The current way I’m using the app is running all the uplights in dmx mode as slaves and the interface w/dmx transmitter is the master control. In a venue I’d have less range issues I would hope but say I want to have uplighting outside of the venue i may run into range issues so would the receivers plugged into the lights benefit me at all for outside purposes or should i manually set the lighting for each light outside instead of using the app. I’m learning more and more about wireless lighting and appreciate your demonstrations it has really helped me along the way.

So happy to hear that Jason!!
Thanks again!

Allan I’m stoked to hear this!! Really hope it gets running smoothly for you man
bare in mind connectivity from your dmx go to the iPad could be getting interference from the electrical from you're DJ controller, I know having it in the case its all tidy and put away but having it out the case could save you a lot of issues
Could be true in some scenarios, you’re right!
Was going to say the same. You have a mass of cables in there that could be resulting in a lot of EMI. Power and signal lines should be separate of each other.
This is the first video on this that showed me how to correctly set up the hardware with the Donner transmitter.
Great video!!! What dongles do you recommend?

Great video! Is there an automatic showmode in DMX Go like a sound to light that you can get in many spots? Everything seems to be manual and singular. I dont want to have to unplug dmx go to use the automatic showmode already installed in my spotlights. Many thanks.
Hey thanks! Yep there is a way to trigger the auto mode, you have to go in to the manual DMX settings and trigger them. It’s a little detailed but not too tough to figure out . I rarely did this because I found that the built in capabilities in the My DMX Go were good enough for me
Great Video! can it change presets automatically or do I have to do it myself to go to the next preset?
You can change presets in a timer if you’d like!
The BEST video on this product!
Thank you so much. I had the same issues with MyDmxGo.

Wow...another detailed and thoughtful video..thanks Kev !!!!!!
For sure! I hope it helps a little. This MyDMX Go is so great!
Thank you for sharing, your video Made me decide to purchase my dmx go!
Just checking in. How is the unit doing? Consistent? Also, couldn't u just use one send and one receiver and then daisy to the rest?
Cool placement of the MyDMX Go hardware, I have the same case, great idea and review!
Thanks!!

Hey, thanks for the video. If you Donners lost power (maybe for 6 hours) do you have to reset them up once they get power again?
You’re welcome!
Nope, no reset delay with the Donners- they are pretty plug and play!

Hello, I'm new to the DJ world just bought a Denon DJ SC Live 4 as I won a deal in my area. Even though I'm a complete beginner I went for SC live 4.
So for lighting, this is what I understood:-
1 Get the offline music in your pc on engine DJ then auto-generate the light thing, export the music to USB then connect to SC live 4
2 Depending on the lights you got Hue or DMX make sure they are either connected via USB if DMX or Hue hub. If DMX is not wireless purchase the DMX wireless adapter and connects to the SC LIVE 4 USB.
3 (a)In SC live 4 make sure the USB is selected for music,
(b)Go to lightning settings and select the. hue or DMX whichever you're using.
My questions
Will you please correct if any of the above points are wrong and
Can I use DMX lights without wifi- so daisy chain and then pick anyone DMX light to connect via wire to SC live 4, or thats not possible?
Can I also connect both Hue and DMX at the same time? Do I need to press something on SC Live 4 to do that lastly does the music always have to be exported to USB for lights to sync with the music, or can this be done on the fly using Serato DJ pro or any other app on pc playing music via let's say SoundCloud connected to SC live 4?
congrats! Honestly I think you should play with the controller and the lights, and try it out. Tinkering is something most DJ's do -- fumble through it and figure it out, is what I think is the best way!
Great great info kevin, Can I use any lights?

I’m not sure about your other lights but I will say that if it can be controlled via DMX, you can make it work!
Great tutorial. Curious about your Wash FX2... do you have those in master/slave mode? Having a ton of trouble getting this to work.
Not master slave, just in DMX mode - and of course you have to assign the right address
Thanks! Great setup and glad to hear its stable for you. It’s such a fun and powerful tool!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures Love to see how you set that up. THinking of switching to either a airport express or using mifi instead of the onboard networking.
Do you need the Donners? My up lights are wireless will it work without the donors?
PERFECT
Then I get to wedding and it would not connect to the iPad .
Very very frustrating device . Not sure whether to sell it or keep trying
Ah man that’s a bummer. I honestly haven’t had any outages like that since I made adjustments- I would verify that the update didn’t switch your WiFi channel back to default and that everything is setup correctly . But other than that 🤷♂️
very nice tutorial video! Thanks!
thank you explaining it so clearly....
Thanks George! You bring up a great point - it’s nice to have a single control source for sound active.

Do you use a hotspot to provide wifi to your DMX go? I’m slowly getting into the light show to add vibe to my gigs.
I do not use a hotspot. The DMX go is a hotspot sort of by itself. It transmits a Wi-Fi signal to which you connect to from your iPad.
So I know the wireless Donner transmitter need to remain plugged in but do the receiver also need to be? Looks like yours are, but i thought only th transmitter did.
I leave them plugged in so that I never have to worry about charging them up ahead of time. Time saver :)
I appreciate your advice and fast reply. Thank you!
I am an audio engineer for bands. Just getting started on DMX lighting. This unit is very intriguing!
Where did you get your iPad mount?
Hey Andrew, the iPad holder is a Stage Ninja Scorpion Series - picked it up at Guitar Center but I’ve seen it other places too!

once you select a preset how do you exit that preset and go back to manual control? I can't seem to find a way to do it.
not sure??
Is this app still available don’t see it in the App Store.
I hope it’s not gone!
How do others scan for the best channels. What kind of bandwidth is it?
I’m not sure but I know a couple DJs who show up and try out a channel - if they can’t connect or have a fast drop out, they move to another and try. Like a manual trail and error method.

17:16 why the f**k do I need to remove saved networks that doesn’t effect the app
As I mention in the video, it's important to remove the networks OR disable their auto join, so that the iPad is not trying to join those networks while connected to the myDMXGo. This resolved some problems others were having with drop outs, and has helped me keep the unit operational and rock solid. Hope that helps.

Do you know whether Light4me brand is mentioned in the fixture list? Thanks in advance for the reply!
I don't know why I can't change the gobo on my moving heads in the live mode. I have to enter in the luminaries to change them..
not sure how to do that!
hi everyone im looking to get the dmx go, but not sure what tablet to buy for it. ive heard good and bad comments about the dmx go i need a dmx go set up that works.
i just bought the equinox fusion 200 zoom spot and need a solution please help guys im looking forward to getting these lights dmxing
Having researched the different types I think MyDMX Go will also be the DMX that I choose for my mobile setup along with the wireless dongles.
Loved this video man! Thanks.
Thanks Kwick!
I agree with you- would’ve been helpful this past weekend when I need to use my iPad for some quick karaoke at a wedding - had to pause my light show!
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures And also, there should be a way the unit stores the scenes.
I've combed the internet for this information and found nothing lol
Other than that, it's a great product to have!
@@bbqsaucedj I believe it does. Go to the hardware manager and look around. I believe you can set up to 10 scenes to run directly from the mydmxgo dongle. I know mydmx3.0 does the same if disconnected from the app
Although I have figured it out with your instructions and reading the manual, the wi-fi keeps disconnecting, and it is very annoying especially at the middle of a gig when there is so much going on. Any suggestions.
Sorry man. That's the best I could do to make it work smoothly.
Can you control video with this? I see tiki's tokens and you tubers Doing Videos, a friend said they have a DMX? is this true??? Controlling the playhead/sample location of the video. Do you know how to Dj a Video to control the playhead and record your work from another phone but the video you can rewind and forward with your Controller?
Hey Marcell. I’ve never seen someone use the MyDMXGO control video, and I’m not a video DJ - so I don’t have too much insight for you. Sorry about that
So i have to keep my finger in the ipad? Cant it sync to music? Or be programmed?
I’m learning more and more about wireless lighting and appreciate your demonstrations it has really helped me along the way.
i didnt see a UV button ....how would you trigger that effect on lights with the app ?
youd have to set the UV light to go off specifically with a DMX code in the manual edit mode :)
Can you please help me to configure my 100W spot head unit from China I just need help with the color wheel.
Check this guy out - his video for me going on setting up my lights for the first time - ruclips.net/video/BsH-iUaLJkU/видео.html
Can you hard wire the MYDMX GO box to the tablet to avoid those dropouts?
Not with an iPad, but you can with an android tablet !
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures thanks! I just bought an Amazon fire tablet, I’m excited to try it out.
A year later, are you still happy with mydmx go? Are you still using it? Any thoughts or feedback?
@@Realdjheisenberg awesome that should work well for you. I really loved MyDMXGo and how it let me interact real-time with my lighting at my gigs. I just bought an ADJ WMX1 (Wolfmix) unit which is made by the same folks who put out Lightrider/MyDMXGo. I’m having lots of fun with it too and I enjoy that it’s a stand-alone unit, but really it does the same thing as MyDMXGo with a few more bells
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures looking forward to watching your review of it!
Are VocoPro lights in there?
I'm not sure. But the library is huge, and if they aren't -- you can either add in generic lights which are similar, make your own profile, or ask ADJ to add the profile for you!
I see ADJ updated to a 3.0, but software looks different. Is this simple Mydmxgo still available? No one seems to have it in stock?
Also i assumed hardware was designed to go next to lights on stand or trussing, does it not work that way?
Not sure, sorry!
