Great video...but can i suggest you take a look at my video on how to replace the starter? there's an easier and quicker way to change the starter in case you may ever need to do it again. But you have a nice video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Are they connected now to the bottom of your tank and dont know where they need to sit or are you saying you have 2 hoses and don't know where they connect to? sorry if this sounds confusing lol
Thank you so much for this video. I have my new starter in and the bike is up and running again so thanks a million. My bike is now idling between 6-7k, would anyone happen to know why? TPS maybe?
ive done everything but the bolt for the starter closest to the motor is almost impossible to get anything in to loosen it. I tried a swivel mount also no luck
I have a check engine light for a code 13 which is the air fuel sensor? I have no idea where that is. Is it one of the sensors you disconnected here? If so could you please help me out?
@@SUPSGARAGE was it included in this video? If not are you talking about the intake that connects to the headlight? Take that off and the rubber hose and it should be under there or is it somewhere completely different. I wish I could send pictures haha
Can a r6 starter work on it?? , have a mechanic did that to my r1 and now anytime the bike starts and rides it doesn't start right away after riding I hafto wait till it cools down but he is saying it's maine baring causing the issue
Hey sups another question! I had an accident may 26th and since after that accident I noticed my r1 doesn’t wanna start. It just cranks. The only way to start it is by push starting it. I got the battery tested, checked my fuses, and even starter relay and everything seems fine. Any idea what it could be?
No. Goes to the starter solenoid brother and then the other big wire from the starter solenoid goes to the battery (Do not get them reversed). Hope this helps you!
No, so the wire coming from the starter should goes to the solenoid (If you look at the solenoid it should have a letter M and B, M connects to the stater and B connects to the positive side of the Battery) and there both positive wires cuz the solenoid just connects between the battery and the starter. Negative just connects to the Negative side on the battery itself (Has nothing to do with the solenoid). I hope I'm not confusing you lol.
@@SUPSGARAGE that makes sense, I'm just confused cuz i got a new wiring harness and it had the positive and negative battery cables connected to the starter solenoid. so starter cable on the M side, battery positive on the B side. now where does the negative from the battery go? I think I'm just overthinking things lol
hey bro! I did your step by step tutorial on how to remove the starter but when I put everything back together I got an error code #15? Something with the throttle position sensor? I don't know if it might be because of how I removed the throttle cable?
@@SUPSGARAGE when I put everything back together I made sure all the connections were the same. I thought it was maybe because I tightened the throttle cable nut too much?
@remydamato6009 It's the sensor I'm disconnecting at 6:19 on this video brother that's what code 15 pulls up for I would double check that one and the pins in it to be safe
This is the exact one I use but this one is red Hope this helps 😊👍 GEARWRENCH 39 Pc. Ratcheting Screwdriver Set - 8939 www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SR8NC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_1G1PRP9S7X6J86Y57Q07?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Hi I have a question, my bike just clicks once I try to start it. Replaced starter relay, battery, & I did jump start it. It turned on but it sounded like it was going to die. I turned it off & tried to turn it on & it started clicking again where the starter relay is
Sounds like the battery you bought might not have enough power, what battery did you get? I would charge it overnight and try again. I've seen new batteries needing to be charge before using them.
Try putting power directly to the starter from the starter solenoid brother its pretty obvious out of the main two wire to put power to one goes the the battery and the other to the starter. Make sure the bike is in neutral before trying if still does nothing then ur starter is bad if it does work then ur problem is going to be somewhere else brother hope this helps!
Still doesn't help my confidence attempting it, but you couldn't have done a better job. Excellent video. Thank you.
One of the best how to videos I’ve seen thanks
Thank you brother! I do my best to help yall 😁👍
Disconnect the negative at the battery. You risk shorting the positive to anything else since the chassis is all grounded.
One of the best how to videos I've seen, i was just gonna take her to the shop but this was in depth and clear enough i pulled it off.
Glad it helped you brother 😊👍
This video was great!! I've been putting this off for months and finally ordered my new starter. This will definitely help speed up the process!
Glad it helps!
Awesome video!!
I’ve got a 2009 R1 haven’t had any problems with my starter but if I do this video will definitely help.

This starter slides right out the side behind the overflow bottle without doing any of this
