For the end of our big siren road trip, we decided to check out this insanely low-pitched 1003 in person. This is probably the lowest-pitch Thunderbolt that has been documented (without pitch fluctuations, that is), and it is an insane experience in person. It wasn't too harsh on the ears, but man, when the horn faced my direction, it legitimately rattled every single bone in my body and felt like an earthquake from how much the ground was shaking. As far as sound pressure goes, this topped at 115.4 dBC on my meter and 109.6 dBA on Tommy's.
Dylan joined us again for this test, and we were able to hang out for a little bit afterwards, which was fun. Before this, we tried recording Riceville's sick 1003 as well, but unfortunately, there was a request made for Riceville not to tone out for this test (presumably due to the baseball game which was happening right next to the 'bolt), but this made up for that in my book. Enjoy!
