  • Well the Egg saga continues with trying out a 'boiled' egg in the ninja, I say boiled but there is no water! How did it go? I also redo the poached egg, after helpful comment suggesting a dash of white wine vinegar to help the egg whites keep together.
    Hope you enjoy!

    Thanks for the heads up on this option. Tried the boiled eggs this morning but, it went a bit Pete tong. Realised my watts on my Instant pot is higher. One broke and the other, ok both was hard boiled. Going to tone it down a bit and try tomorrow. Either going 185 for 6 mins or 200 for 5. It will work but just means adjusting. Again thanks for the heads up :)

    where the eggs room temp or from the fridge? this affects the cooking time too.
    if you stir the water in the bowl then crack the egg into the centre it should help keep the egg together.
    also the wattage of the air fryer will affect temp/times too.
    it's all a case of trying and seeing what work of course.

    Hi kerry you did poached egg 7 days ago and on the same settings as tonights vlog but cant understand how that came out harder than yours as your yolk and that was runnier than tonights one too even though they were both done on the same settings,I did prefer yours as I like runny yolks so the only thing i can think of which caused this to be different especially on the exact same settings is the use of the vinegar,you didnt use that on yours so I think the better version is yours cos no vinegars i did read the acidity in vinegar could cause the hardness i think this has happened in this case,so i much prefer your version what you did the other day that had no vinegar as yours was lovely and how I like mine too.

      I really enjoyed making the 'boiled' egg (was pleased how it turned out) I also thought I would have another go at the poached egg with the new ingredient white wine vinegar, because the very 1st attempt the egg white collapsed and someone suggested using vinegar, so same settings 200 airfry 7 min but with vinegar as new component. Yolk was a bit overcooked for me, but the egg white was perfect, so the 2nd attempt all the same except for timings at 6 mins. Happier with that result👌😋💕

      Someone in another RUclips video said to put the egg in ice cold water when you take it out of the air fryer to make it easier to get the shell off without losing any of the egg

    • @Dave.Thatcher1
      @Dave.Thatcher1 Год назад +1

      Try putting the egg in a container....or a large glass with water (about a 3rd full) cover the top with your hand or lid, vigorously shake for around 20 to 30 seconds.
      That should see the shell get broken all round. I found about 98% success in getting the shell off.

    • @janebere193
      @janebere193 Год назад +1

      @Doreen O'Gorman Yes I saw that too. I put them in iced water. Still no luck. It seems to weld the membrane to the shell when you air fry.

    • @janebere193
      @janebere193 Год назад

      @david Thatcher I usually roll it around on the counter top to peel but the membrane seems to weld itself to the shell when you air fry. I'll give your tip a go, see what happens. Thanks 🙂

      I recently cooked 2 eggs at same time: Airfryer @ 200 for 7 mins and they were great. The only thing I would advise is crack open all eggs as soon as taken out of the Airfryer, because my daughter had 2 eggs, one was cracked open to eat - perfect but by the time she had ate that one and then cracked open the 2nd the yolk had carried on cooking so was nearly hard boiled than the 1st (they were small eggs mind)😃💕

  • @alancarlyon3928

    Why not insert the egg you are going to boil in the water with the poached egg, save time and energy! I do my boiled egg in the air fryer, but add two tablespoons of water 5 minutes, never tried the poach egg, but will! Cheers!
