You should learn to build your houses better ... i.e. NOT out of wood but rather out of BRICKS. Sure, that is more expensive (and "America" has a tendency to build loads of cheap crap that is expensive to run) but you can save most of your heating by having well constructed buildings. That way "burning them down" isnt that easy (a concern with all the -riots- "peaceful but fiery" protests coming to a neighborhood near you).
