They make really good pens! And it's good to hear from someone who has had a good experience with them on planes - admittedly I haven't flown with FPs, only because I haven't flown since before I deep-dived into the hobby.
Totally loving your new pen! Think Tom did right by you in sending you this pen cause I’ve just been penabled 😁 You explained its mechanism so well I just went ahead and bought my 1st Opus 88 (an Omar). What!!!: Been looking at getting one for a little while now (mainly to use with my parallel nib) and even had a discount leftover to apply towards it. So cool this being your 1st review too. Congrats Sarah! 🥳
That is a beautiful pen. I have an Opus 88 Omar and a Koloro and I enjoy them both. I love Goldspot too. I just recently learned about the rewards program and was happy to see all of my past purchases were accounted for when I signed up!
How nice to sign up and find points already waiting for you! Opus 88 really does a great job. I liked the Koloro - I had one and sold it just because I wasn't in love with the colorway. But maybe I'll have to have another one at some point!
Beautiful pen! The Organics Studio Nitrogen ink would play well with this pen. Love the black nib. When using my Opus 88s, I find that if I put back the plunger and push forward slowly, it helps to force ink into to nib feed.
I thought about trying that, but I was worried I'd push ink out and onto my desk, haha! Next time I will try, though. Yes, it's so pretty - and you're right about Nitrogen, though I gave my bottle away. It was too sheeny for me!
Yes, if sheen was always subtle, I wouldn't be as anti-sheen as I am. I just don't like it overpowering the whole ink color, because then what's the point of having a base color?
Hey Sarah Congrats 🎉❤ on receiving your first review pen it's beautiful 😍. I am looking for a new Opus 88 but unfortunately I'm saddened by the color only because I have the Federalist's Pens Exclusive Red, White, Blue pen that is so similar to this Opus 88 colorway that it broke my 💔. I want a special Opus 88 for my super flex nib I just got. I wanted to pair it with an eyedropper pen that would stand up to the Inky needs. Anyway sorry for rambling Congrats again hun!!!
Congratulations on getting this pen for review ! It is stunning ! I love the diamondcast material. I have 2 Opus 88 Demos already, so I will probably not get this one, even though I am as often tempted by the limited edition… :) Also, I just ordered a pen from Goldspot which is still on the way to me (Benu Euphoria Pink Champagne;) and now I have to go on a little low spend, I believe… :D
Apologies for the delay - the nib holder is an inexpensive Speedball nib holder from the craft store, and the nib is just a spare Jinhao nib from an old Jinhao x750! Just something I cobbled together from what I already had!
It's a really pretty ink! I've been enjoying it all day today in this pen. I was unsure about it since sheen isn't my favorite thing, but truthfully I'm okay with it in this ink! I hope you enjoy it, too!
I’m not a fan of high-sheen inks either, but this ink looks fairly muted in this ink, plus I’ll use it with a fine nib so it should be perfect. Already ordered. Thank you for testing it!!
I;ve take Opus 88 pens on long long plane rides (for instance US -> India) and never had a problem with leaking. They are one of my favorite brands.

Congratulations on your first review pen! Such an exciting milestone 🎉
Thank you so much!
Opus 88 + DiamondCast resin + an ink based on creepy H.P. Lovecraft stories is such a fun combination!

Congratulations on the collaboration with Goldspot. Rachelle in Seattle

Fantastic that you were sent a pen to review! It is a gorgeous pen! I love my Opus 88 Omar. I have not tried the demo.
It was so exciting! I had not tried the Demo, either. I'm honestly surprised at how much I like it!
Nice pen with a beautiful nib! 😇🩷🙏🙌
It really is! They did a great job with this one!
The pen is beautiful and the ink is nice too. I enjoy sheening inks when the sheen is subtle and accentuates the base color.

An eyedropper like this would be perfect for a super flex nib! I hope you find the perfect pen for you! And thank you for your congratulations!

Ooh the Pink Champagne is so pretty! I have managed to hold off on that one thus far, but it might be in my future. I hope you enjoy it!!
That pen is stunning! 😮
It's really so pretty! Dark and moody, which is not usually my taste, but this one is an exception!
Thanks, at 9:20 what is the nib and the nib holder you use ? Thanks for your help :)

@@gingerpeachy thanks, lovely 👍
No interest in the pen, but I’m definitely buying the ink.
