- This pen is a new exclusive for Goldspot Pens, and they've sent me one to check out and show to all of you! This is the first of the OPUS 88 Demo models that I've had, and I was surprised by the size and comfort of this pen. I always underestimate OPUS 88 pens. I don't know why. They've always been excellent.
The material here is a custom DiamondCast blank, and it's a stunner. I used a LOT of light to brighten the pattern in the cover card there, but it looks very nice in every light with all of those diamondy bits in it.

I've never really understood why it's a problem to have to turn a cap a few times to remove it. I'm much more likely to drop a cap that comes off after half a twist because I let go expecting to have to turn it again. I appreciate a cap that isn't in a rush to pop off the pen.
I have an Opus "Demonstrator" Sapphire that I like a great dealh. Of course, I go through the ritual of writing with it for a bit, then finding that something is wrong, checking the nib for lint and hair and alignment, making sure there's ink, wondering if gravity has gotten gnarly today, and finally remembering to open the top. What is life without ritual and tradition? I recently stocked up on O-rings for my Opus pens. It's the little one that perches on top of the nib unit that I tend to lose.
Another solid review. That's a beautiful pen. And I must get a bottle of the Cthulu for my Hallowe'en ink collection.
(Have you thought about doing a collaboration with Benu that incorporates cat hair into the pen? I love the way Benu mixes in substances of significance into their pens.)

I think the cap-turns thing is mostly a problem for those of us who are writing in a sporadic fashion. So, not long form letters or something, but rather notes in meetings or on things I'm reading. It can be a bit of a pita to unscrew something for that long between each note.
I haven't thought of doing a Benu pen. I might look into it, though. I think they make nice stuff. I don't know about cat hair, but some sort of catty theme might be a good idea.

I'm liking the Omar, too. They're essentially the same size, but a different shape.

@@inkdependence Well, JetPens had the best price on the Opus 88 Omar and only had one in Amethyst left so I bought it last night. I got it with the 1.5mm Stub nib. I also added a Broad nib for it.
I got a bottle of Noodler's La Reine Mauve ink and some Midori MD cotton and Clairefontaine Triomphe paper with matching envelopes for both.
Nose ❤❤ I really like the opus 88 pens. They are pretty reliable and fuss free.

Oh good! I'm glad it was helpful. They're not complicated, but they are a little different from other pens.

Opus 88, confusingly, have a model called 'Demonstrator', which comes in various materials - and they make different models, which occasionally come in Demonstrator variants. So, you can find an Opus 88 Demonstrator Demonstrator ...
One of my three favourite pens is my Opus 88 Omar Demonstrator.
This one is a Demonstrator that isn't a demonstrator. 😅
I agree, calling the design "Demonstrator" can be a bit confusing, especially when a finish, like the Twilight Sonata, is completely opaque.
But RUclips adds are just so logical, and also so artistic, and overall beacons of enlightenment; watching them kind of like getting to experiencing the Renaissance. WTF! How dare you sully the work of the marketing masters who create such clips of utility and truth.
LoL. You're right. I'll see if I can get them to add extra ads to the channel to make up for my past offenses. 😆
