This old grandmother, who lives in a condo high in the sky of Los Angeles, continues to shake her head in astonishment and respect for the accomplishments of you and your faithful crew.
Always a new use for the leaf blower. I can't wait until the day Dan's castle is ready to live in, and he is still using the leaf blower to clean his carpets and tiles on a daily basis! 😊 No need for a housekeeper here! Who knew the chef skills were so valuable too. Frosting the steels and layering them to the top of the building.
Some friendly advice: I am sure people have mentioned this previously, but please take care of your lungs. There is so much dust, it is a recipe for Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)! In the first stage most people do not even know they have it, until it is too late. You often seem to have/sounds like you have a stuffy nose. All this hard work and beautiful results....you would think you would want to enjoy it when you get older! I also do home renovations and wear protective masks with filters. 😷My mother has been a nurse for a long time and warned me of COPD... she has seen many clients, from people who did simple home renovations to construction workers, who got terrible (VERY terrible) symptoms as they got older. It is a terrible way to live and die. Keep up the good work!
Having tools is a great thing! I remember before Dan bought the chateau he did the best he could and it turned out well but the right tools would have made his life so much better. Great to see all the tools he uses now.
Amazing mansion just took its first deep breath after you installed the last floor. We are so proud if you Dan. It's like no other project I've ever seen. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
You did make me laugh! But it's really a Danism. I can't remember the first one I heard him make but it kept me laughing, on and off, for three days. Noggins to you.
Your camera skills and editing are superb Dan. Sometimes I’m so engrossed in the build I forget the hard work and professionalism that goes on behind the scenes. ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
Yes that's why I watch the videos at least twice, the camera angles look natural but when you study the shots you can see the time he takes to get the "natural" look 👏👏

Love the dusty "Grandpa" look! We both cringed when you flipped the beams on top of the wall. Just phenomenal watching you work and the skill sets you've acquired.
It's amazing how the original builders did the job, by eye, by plumb bob, by water level. Impressive, but I do like the laser, chop saw, and impact driver !
Labour was so cheap plenty of hands make light work by 1879 circa when this chateaux was built they had proper levels measuring devices squares etc. Even using steel.

It was very wise to sticker your timbers and strap them. Most people don't realize how important it is when timber framing to have straight and flat timbers with equalized moisture content all sides. Nice job! :)
If working Fire Places are rebuilt I've seen were the flues are relined using a inflatable bladder the mortar / concrete is pored around the bladder and after the mortar is hardened bladder is deflated leavening a new flue liner in place

Hey Dan, You should always be careful when grinding away stone. You should always use a mask to prevent Silicosis. Silicosis is permanent damage to the lungs.
And they are off..another completely wonderful stage of the chateau renovation..team Dan has it all in hand.. team you tube supporters are here watching and going there to support you..❤
This is good stuff. By Christmas I’m hoping you’re in a completely weathertight building. Proud of your willingness to always figure out a way to get things done.
Ah, a solo Dan day. I do enjoy the musketeer days but solo Dan has its own, wonderful rhythm...and, as we watch him morph into Dan the elder we also get a glimpse of yet another of his talents: high altitude cake decorating. ❤
I spent some time this morning chopping on some bricks to finish my new path. Using a cold chisel and a hammer I told my mum if I was a professional I would have made the path look perfect. Being my mum she said "if it were perfect you wouldnt like it so much!" She is right of course, she is my mum, my neighbor, and an all around great person!
You're just awesome! Getting that massive steel up there and planted level and everything... my highest respect! Can't wait to see the chateau with a full roof! 😃
Quelle belle avancée , c’est génial de voir cette toiture qui va prendre forme comme la première, et tout avec une force tranquille, c’est impressionnant bravo 👏👏👍

When I first discovered this channel and tried to catch up to current events, I could watch several episodes a day... I kinda miss that time 🙂 Amazing work and I always can't wait for the next episode! Unbelivable what you have accomplished already!
Try reading the comments! Last year, I used to be able to read 500-800 comments in 1 setting after watching a Vlog. Interesting comments, tradespersons/builder comments, and many very funny followers. ( Sometimes Dan would answer. Even Nick {Oldmaninthewoods comment name} comments from time to time.) Ever since last summer and exponential subscriber growth, it is very hard to read all 1K in comments. That'll keep a person busy!
Just a brief pause for thought when inhaling large quantities of granite dust. When granite decomposes it releases radon gas (admittedly only tiny amounts but still...) - which is why homes built in granite areas like Cornwall all tend to have Radon sumps. So quite apart from the normal risks from rock dust, like silicosis, It's probably not the best thing to have huge amounts of coating your lungs. Other than that Job well done!
