    Nice to see them side by side. The black is more classic, but I really love the white dial version. Great idea for a video!

      Thank you. I don't know if the comparison video has been done before, so I figured it would be a good opportunity to do so since I had the black dial one in hand.

    white hands down, looks more classic, easier to dress up if needed be, also you wont have the one everyone has, great video.

      Thank you. I did end up keeping the white dial watch.

    I’ve got the pre-2018 version with date complication and the white dial. The one with the date is more versatile in as far as dressing up / down. The white dial is my summer watch and a strap monster. Any color band/ nato strap looks great with the white dial.
    Black dials aren’t more authentic. Lots of field watches in the 40s had white dials

    Recently purchased one with the olive green dial with date function. I’ve really enjoyed wearing this and probably gets the most wrist time amongst my collection which includes Rolex, IWC, etc. this is the first manual wind watch I’ve owned and probably the best “value” watch out there. Highly recommend getting this.

    Black one has the classic look and feel ... I have the black one now for 8 months and it hasn't left my wrist😁🤙

      I agree, it is so comfortable on wrist, I could see leaving it on for years.

    I currently have the white dial version shown in this video and a Seiko MM300 and while I love the look of the 300 and how your eyes are drawn to the aesthetics, the Khaki is so much more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  Год назад

      I agree, the Hamilton Jaki Field Mechanical just disappears on the wrist. It is very easy to forget that you are wearing this watch. The MM300 is an awesome watch as well, but a bit clunky on my small wrist.

    I have both and much prefer the black. Better legibility, real provenance, and just a better, "I do serious sh&t" look.

      Thanks for sharing that information about the black dial vs white dial. My preference is no date, as I don't wear the same watch for more than a few days, and changing the date gets to be tedious.

    Thank you for the video it really helped, I bought the black on bracelet for my son’s thirteenth birthday, I like the classic look of the black especially on the bracelet and seems to suit as a gift.

    White dial wins but on a brown leather strap (or tan/khaki NATO)

    • @WrongTimeWatch

      That sounds like a good strap combination. Somedays I regret selling this watch.

    So you prefer the black dial, it seems?

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I do now. However since this video I rebought the white dial. The problem with Hamilton watches is that there is too much reflection from the crystal with a black dial. It is not as bad with a white dial.

    • @wjlevien
      @wjlevien 7 месяцев назад +2

      @WrongTimeWatch Appreciate the reply! The reflection on the black dial does seem to be quite a bit worse. Do you own both now or just the white dial? I'm looking to pick one up myself but having a difficult time deciding which one to go with.

    I hate these for one thing. These watches are extremely unreliable. They barely last for a year,most the time the spring breaks within months. Disappointed

    Take them outside and see which color is easier to read with glare. I suspect the black one. Both are great.

    you have a small wrist... looks like 42mm on your wrist.. the white dial looks also cheapy... cream would have been a better color.

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  3 года назад

      That is a good point about the dial color. It would look more vintage with a cream dial.

  • @Ferien7
    @Ferien7 3 года назад +1

    Cool watch but it has no wrist presence. From any distance, the watch disappears on wrist as if all you’re wearing is a strap bracelet. It really needs to be 40mm with about 11mm thickness and shorter lugs;

    • @Ferien7
      @Ferien7 3 года назад +1

      It also needs to have a satin brushed case. Bead blasted finishing is ugly

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  3 года назад

      Yes, it fits well on my small wrist. I do you agree with you on the lugs, they are a bit too long, but it makes strap changes easier.

    • @nickzinser7566

      So literally change everything about it... just buy a different watch. Hamilton has a million options.
