Sometimes you can still beat them fairly easily with things like shrapnel barrage, laser barrage, air strike, or run jet pack and maybe plas shotgun/scorcher since you can down devastators and stalkers.

Pretty impressive for a level 37. I solo completed all three missions, with some deaths, on level 7 the other day. Was quite chuffed.

Probably from enemies friendly firing each other. You always get quite a few free kills on eradicate missions like that.
