Hi! This is a cover of a set of reels from 'Upside Down', a great album by Sharon Shannon, Mike McGoldrick, Dezi Donnelly and Jim Murray. Played on a Susato F low whistle and guitar.

I just have to say, I love your channel and your style of playing. I've been trying to find simpler but still upbeat Celtic music, specifically the tin whistle, and your arrangements are absolutely perfect. Not too simple, not way over the top. And the guitar accompaniment adds the perfect harmony and chords. Keep up the amazing work and you definitely have a permanent subscriber from me!

I have not heard these tunes before. but this is vxery nice, always love listening to your music! I have the Susato Low G (well its a Susato Mezza A head and Low G body) and quite like their sound, will have to start playing it again.

Read the "about" section on the video. It says it's a susato low F.
I've been debating on getting a Bb or a Low F whistle. Trying to find a great tin whistle at a mid range but not too close to a High D, because I like to play some slow tunes by myself. Love the Low F whistle videos by the way, very beautiful instrument.

Great whistle. Only the second octave can be a bit hard to control sometimes. No, I'm only doing the monthly member/patron thing.

Hi, this is a great channel, very inspiring. How do you like the susato kildare whistle? Tried one recently in a shop, was not able to get myself to the bigger shape even in Bb (small hands). thanks!
Hi, thanks. Susatos are very different from other whistles, they're hard to control if you're not used to them, and the low ones have the holes very far from each other. But I think anybody can play any whistle, even with small hands, it's just a matter of time getting used to them.

I've never played an instrument before but I listen to mike mcgoldricks stuff all the time and now I really want to take up whistle! Any advice?
Martin Laird My best advice: Listen, listen, listen, listen... and try to play along. That's what I did. But first learn the basics: scale and ornaments (cut, tap, roll, etc).

Martin Laird I learned whistle mostly from watching TinWhistler's videos haha - he is an enormous wealth of whistle wisdom :-)
It's so awesome and i have question i bought a high C tin whistle then i realised most songs in D so now i want to buy a low whistle now but i cant decide should i buy in D or C cuz i already have high c tin whistle i wanna learn whats your opinion ^_^
You can play any tune on any whistle, whether it's a whistle in C, or in D, or in Bb, or in F, etc, but if you want to play along with most recordings or with other people, you should buy whistles in D. Explanation: a D on a D whistle equals to a D on a piano, that's why you should get a D whistle. A D on a C whistle equals to a C on a piano. A D on an F whistle equals to an F on a piano, etc. But don't get me wrong, whistles in other keys are fine and you can play any tune on them on your own (I use F whistles, Bb whistles, C whistles all the time for fun), it's just that you'll normally need D whistles to play with other instruments. I hope this makes sense, it's hard for me to explain it.
Yeah I actıally understand your point. i think ill buy a D low whistle cuz i am a beginner and almost all tutorials in D whistle and thank you for responding ,i hope i can play good as you sometime .

That's right, mom's family. Almost everyone is/was a musician.

@@Melinda_Sue Grandpa and his siblings is the oldest generation I know, but it probably goes further back. Just instruments like guitar, Spanish lute, bass, etc., and singing.
