Wonderful video Hilary. Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of encouraging advice. You look absolutely amazing! I love when you make videos like this. I would love for you to make some more healthy recipe videos? Just to give all of us busy moms some quick meal inspiration for those looking to get a little more healthier. Thank you for yet another awesome video ♥️
You are proof that sensible eating is smart & works for you. You actually look thinner now than ever, and keeping busy along with eating balanced meals is something you'll be able to sustain. Good work! Lots of good tips.
I noticed you losing weight and seeing your healthy meals. I think cooking the meals at home helps in being able to eat less carbs etc. It's such a smart way to get back to where you feel comfortable, better. Thanks so very much for sharing.
Thank you for being so kind when talking about getting into shape. You are so encouraging! I'm not a young mother anymore, but your tips are just as useful for older women, too. You are a gem to this community! Hugs and blessings dear friend!💛
You look absolutely great!! Your approach to weight loss was very intentional, mindful and sensible and probably was the key to your success. Weight loss plans work as long as you stay on them, and then once you lose the weight, what next, most plans don't give you a maintenance program to guide you in how to re-introduce the restricted food back into your every day eating so you can maintain your weight loss you worked so hard at losing. Most will gain back most if not all they lost, a vicious cycle. Hilary, you are doing weight loss not as a "plan", but as a life style, a way of eating healthy, sensibly for the rest of your life. You are in touch with and listening to your body, to know when to eat more, when to eat less and knowing what to limit or eliminate based upon how your body feels. Having no scale but relying on how your clothes feel on your body is smart, it keeps you from becoming a slave to the numbers on the scale as daily our bodies lose and gain based on many things, scales can actually cause great anxiety, frustration, depression when trying to lose weight. You look wonderful and I bet you feel wonderful too! The best part is that you decided to do this journey for YOU, not because you had to but because you wanted to give yourself the gift of health and wellness. One of the best things a person can do for themselves. The old line..."If you don't have your health you don't have anything" is so true. You look marvelous, I'm so happy for you! 😊
This was the best advice I ever heard about how to lose baby weight! You did it in a very safe and practical way! And you look amazing- you would pass for 18 years old ! You have helped a lot of mamas!
Not only have you seen results in your weight loss but, your skin and hair look bright, shiny, and very healthy. You seem to have found your dietary sweet spot.
Ugh, I feel so uncomfortable in my body, that half the time I don't even want to go anywhere or do anything. I don't want to see myself in photos, and I definitely don't want my husband to see me. The cravings for sugar are out of control! I know that my snacking is bad(I'm a stay at home mom with all kids in school, so I get a lot of alone time). I need to implement this lifestyle for my own sake. We moved to TN a few months ago, so I've been bored with not having my calendar full of friends and church stuff yet, but I did join the gym because we don't have to wear masks here. I like to go, and it makes me feel good, but you've given me motivation to just eat healthier. Not count calories or macros or anything like that. Your lifestyle is so nice! You're a good steward with what God gave you.
I hear you about the sugar cravings! I have been doing my best to limit myself. Getting started is always the hardest! Your very fortunate you can go to the gym and don’t have to wear a mask! In Ontario Canada you can’t even get into a gym without the vaccine certification. It’s so depressing. I’m praying all this changes soon! Ontario has been one of the worst for shut downs and restrictions.
@@izabelar1473 I live in the South of the Us, and we don’t have a lot of restrictions here. I’ve been watching all the footage about your truckers fighting the vaccine mandates and I’m praying that it will be successful! I’m proud of them and all the Canadians supporting them, they need support!
@@izabelar1473 we just moved here from Buffalo, and Erie County has gotten SO bad! We moved to escape the mandates. No Bills games without a card, no theatre shows, hockey games, etc. No gym without a mask, grocery shopping, school, sports. We couldn't let our kids grow up like that.
I have to say, eating this way has really killed my sweet tooth, in a good way! My husband can’t understand not wanting to snack but I truly feel full and satisfied with my whole food meals that I’m not very tempted because I know I have another delicious meal headed my way in just a couple hours. And sweet foods taste sweeter when I’m not eating refined sugar. It is a journey for sure, being a mom is complex and wonderful and challenging and a blessing ☺️
Great work Hillary! I love this real mom real life process you went through! Thanks for sharing with us your why and how! 😊 this will be a blessing to many I’m sure!
This was a wonderful video. I'm 7 months postpartum with my 6th and I've kept weight on with each pregnancy. Losing it seems so daunting and my body seems to cling to weight while I'm nursing. But, watching this video made me realize there are little things I can do to work on it. I also really loved the "what I eat in a day" video you shared recently! I'd love to see more of those once in a while if it's something you're interested in sharing more often. It was good to get ideas:)
You look great Hilary! After many years of struggling with my weight I have found that processed sugars are my biggest enemy. While giving up sweets can be a problem for most, they actually cause some health issues for me so when I look at candy, cookies, pie, etc. I think ‘if I eat that it is going to cause me pain’ and I have no problem turning away.
I had to cut back on sugar for the same reason. I thought that it would be a lot harder than it has been. If I see sweets I don't want to eat them either since I know that the following day I will be in pain. I can still eat desserts made without refined sugar. Great video Hillary.
Thank you Hilary. I have been watching your channel since the beginning. So many life changes for your life and mine as well. I appreciate your encouragement and thoughtfulness. I will see you soon! Stay warm and see you soon!
Good for you Hilary! I know weight loss can be a challenge for some postpardum women and can be a mental struggle as well. Thank you for sharing your encouragement. You did so well with keeping your goal!
I love this topic so much!! I'm an endurance runner with 5 kids. Eating healthy is so important. You have such a beautiful soul. Inside and out. Keep up the great work!!!!! Love Mary in Maine
And don't think it hasn't gone unnoticed! You look amazing! I've always thought you looked amazing! Always the best outlook on things...you inspire Hilary!
Thank you for such an encouraging video! I am 3 weeks postpartum with my 4th and loosing the weight seems daunting right now. With four children 5 and under, the pounds are starting to accumulate with each pregnancy. I used basically the same approach you did after my first and lost my baby weight by 9 months, but I sure needed the reminder today! Ladies, we can do this!! Thank you also for your videos! I am so blessed by your practical, down to earth approach to life, and yet you value and cultivate beauty as well. I can't find the right words, but you make a warm and beautiful home, and rich, full life all look attainable and real. Such an inspiration to us other busy mamas!
Thank you for sharing! I have creeped up in the last couple of months. I have cut down on alcohol and coffee for some reasons, but I need to cut down on carbs and stop snacking. I know I can do it, but need to remain consistent.
As you get older it's definitely harder to lose the weight but a person definitely can do it. I'm 54 and I did the same as you low carb/very low sugar, for me I have to continually live that lifestyle or I'll gain it all back and more most likely, especially at my age. I've lost around 55# and have kept it off for 4 years. I had to end up getting a complete new wardrobe and losing the weight definitely makes you feel better about yourself 🙂 congratulations on losing the baby weight!
You look great and this vlog is awesome because you explained what you did to loose weight in simple, realistic terms that are achievable. You're a wonderful inspiration Hilary!
I am a mom of three and had lost all the baby weight right after my third BUT I found over the last year I was very slowly creeping up. So a week ago I started keeping track of myself. I just focus on getting enough fiber and protein and having real meals three times a day. I have a 'treat' daily and don't feel limited when I know I can just eat smaller portions of things that are higher calorie. I realized how much I was over eating! I was literally never even slightly hungry. It's been a week and I lost a pound so I think I'm on track and feeling great!
Thank you for sharing! I’m in a very similar situation and could relate to everything you said. For me, losing weight tends to seem so complicated. I appreciate your insight and sharing what worked for you in a simple way.
Awesome job! I did a very similar thing, though a bit more strict, because I was diagnosed with diabetes new years Eve 2020. How festive. I knew it was early, and I'm in my thirties and didn't want to be on meds forever. I'm now in almost in remission with daily normal sugar reading and I never took a single pill. It's amazing what food can do. Also down over forty lbs.
I noticed a couple of videos ago that you have lost weight. You look great. I thought you looked good before, but I understand what you mean when you want to be a healthy weight and feel good with energy. Very important being a busy mom! Love your videos!!
Thanks for sharing. I will have to try your new way of eating. I still have my baby weight from both my pregnancies. My first child was born 11 yrs ago 😬🤪. You look lovely as always.
You look beautiful Hilary! I’m happy you figured out what would work best for you and your body. It’s never a one size fits all. I’ve had my own struggles with learning my body and finally figured it out🌹
Hilary, I owned gym's in Flemington, Hillsboro and Somerset, NJ. And, I totally agree on how you are going about dropping a few pounds for YOU. You look amazing but the most important thing is how you feel. Poco a Poco - or little by little!
So wonderful to see you as an inspiration to be happy with and take care of yourself !! Love your why!!!! And you would be beautiful at any size because your spirit shines bright!!! I love that you don’t own a scale!!! Trusting yourself is a valuable lesson. ❤️🙏🏻 God bless and see you soon!
Play with your kids! I love seeing parents actually play with their kids - swimming, hiking, biking, skating, skiing, golfing. All of these activities sound like more fun than exercise!
Good video, When I had my boys , I lost all my baby weight too. Since I have retired I have gain some weight not to bad. But that’s ok and I am really enjoying my life . Love it.
Way to go! I’m 4 months pregnant with baby #6. And my youngest is 8 months old. I have felt convicted this pregnancy because I didn’t have time to lose the baby weight from the last pregnancy. I’m going to incorporate more of your tips to help me during this pregnancy so I feel healthier.
A lot of valuable wisdom here. You look absolutely great. I agree it’s so important to “feel like ourselves” & comfortable in our bodies. A clean, healthy, plant-based “diet” is such a good way to take care of ourselves. Btw, there are snacks if someone needs to go there (like myself!). Jicama spears & watermelon, little bell peppers, garbanzo beans, a few nuts…even a handful of a high fiber, low sugar cereal. Wasn’t it great to see your results when you tried on the clothes? I love that feeling!
Yay! So happy for you that you feel so good. That’s most important. The biggest obstacle I’ve found is the mental hurdle. Once I’m in the right place to tackle the challenge, it makes all the difference. I’m on day 23 of a Whole30 (eating meats, veggies, fruits and healthy fats only) and am feeling so good. It’s been a challenge, but I was finally ready to make a change and I’m so happy with the results. I’m in the same place with exercise as you, but hoping to get there one day. Keep up the great work!
I’m 11 months postpartum with baby #2 and have been having a really hard time losing the weight. It really resonated with me when you said you want to feel and look your best the next 5-10 years… so do i! I already feel ashamed when I see myself in photos with the kids, and I don’t want that. I just love chocolate so much 😝
I say enjoy it, in moderation 🤎 Similar to budgeting your money, budget your chocolate and fit it into your day or your weekend. I’ve definitely noticed the less I have it, the less I want it
I don’t like workout videos either but I discovered Pilates a couple of years back. It’s so good for you. Robin Long from The Balanced Life is amazing. Her videos average 15 minutes and she says that’s all you need. Perfect for busy moms!
I’ve often thought that workouts are a modern invention because our lifestyles are filled with so many conveniences we don’t have to move our bodies as much. We don’t have to physically work hard for food and survival. What you are doing is really going back to the roots of how we were created. Movement throughout the day with healthy, homemade eating. It is wonderful!
I REALLY appreciate your sensible approach to getting healthy. You look great and I agree with having your clothes tell you if you're going in the right direction. Keep up the humble approach to living its so refreshing sister!👍👏
Good, sound advice. Basically boils down to eating intuitively and doing what feels right and works for your body and lifestyle rather than going with the latest fad diet. Good general motto for life - quieting the external noise and expectations and listening to your inner compass. You look great! P.S. Unrelated but I have a book recommendation for your ever-growing list as you call it 😂. Between Two Kingdoms by Suleika Jaouad. Fabulous book! Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely day 😊.
The cake looks so delish😋 Love all the tips, Hilary. You look beautiful.❤️ I run, and you’re correct, you have to change your eating habits to see good results.❤️
Hi there Hilary!! So happy you are doing what’s best for “you” 👍🏻. You look fantastic, but then again I think you always do after having a baby 😁. Hope you’re enjoying your evening!
Love this video Hilary. Eating clean not only gave you your ideal weight it also allows you to still breastfeed your baby. You stay busy through the day with homemaking which also helps. Great tip you gave us that you are mindful of going to bed not feeling full which allows your mornings to go smoothly & feel energized. Thanks for this video. God bless
You’re really looking wonderful, Hilary! I find one of my big obstacles in losing weight is that I constantly crave chocolate. Especially in these cold months. And it’s got to be either Lindt or Nutella. Nothing else will do.🤣 I need to work on my self discipline. This was such a great video. You’ve inspired me to give it a try again. Will let you know what happens. 🤞🏻💕
Hilary, this video as well as your what I eat one (which I would love more of, if you're willing) have been videos I've returned to over and over. I had our 6th baby a week after you had Jude. Unfortunately I still had that mentality of accepting this body. But now I'm motivated to lose the weight! I'm noticing it isn't budging much yet and I'm wondering if it's because I'm still nursing. Did you stop nursing or are you still? I know every woman's body responds differently. Either way I'm happy you made these videos and I feel better when I eat better so thank you for that motivation!!
Great tips that I need to start trying. I hate exercise, but I love walking, and find if I can take a 30 min. walk, it gives me energy for the rest of the day. I find without walking, I am constantly hunting for energy (food snacks) and am still tired by mid-day.
I was a good weight postpartum my 3rd but then 2020 came and I ate all my worries... you inspired me today, I'll star to incorporate the slow eating (mum is the last to sit down at the table) and stop snacking as a starter 😉
I really enjoyed this video and really enjoy your sit downs. Thank you for your honesty. I love when you show what your eating and add recipes. Have a great day 🌻
You look fabulous! Thank you for putting it perspective for us who need to lose some weight. I lost 95 pounds since covid started… just being mindful like you suggested. I am satisfied - so stop eating. I don’t exercise much either because of time and freezing weather up in New England. And keep busy in the house.
I did this exact thing after a couple kids and it worked for me as well. This time, it is NOT working, eek! I am almost 2 years postpartum. I tried it at 6 months, didn't work, and 1 year, also didn't work. I tend to not be able to loose at all when I am nursing a lot, so I waited until I was completely done nursing and it still was not working, so discouraging! I have been doing it again for 3 weeks with no results, I don't know what is going on. I am going to stick with it and add in some walking. I am hoping my body gets with the program here.
Thanks for posting this video. I am a year postpartum from my second, and having one at 35 really messed up my figure. I gained too much weight, plus with covid was not working and the gyms were closed. So it was a double whammy. I am using this video to inspire me. I recently had to buy pants a size larger than usual which stinks...I am hoping to make it back down one day.
Actually eating whole foods during pregnancy is a great way to manage weight. Pregnancy is a wonderful gift from God. I find many women struggle with pregnancy weight because of the pressure and misinformation the world put on body image. I know what weight looks and feels good for me. The bible says our body belongs to the Lord. He can show us how to take care of our bodies and thankfully our bodies knows how to work. We just need to feed it the proper nutrients to encourage nourishment, energy, and maintenance of life. Everyone's body will look different, embrace the beauty of Gods gift. No matter what the scale reads. (P.S. try not to use scales, muscle adds weight as does fat. Measure your weight-loss by how your clothes fit :-)) Remember exercise doesn't always equate to weight loss, it is about staying active and finding an activity you enjoy.
Moderation is key! I think you look wonderful! I treat myself to dessert one day a week, but my weakness is salt, I just stop buying those things. I always enjoy food with family and friends - God gave us good food to enjoy!
Great encouragement, sounds like you made healthy choices and it shows in your glow. You said you eliminated wheat and I would just like to point out that Ezekiel bread is still wheat, just a sprouted grain and not refined wheat. I point this out as I'm a retired dietitian and I frequently had patients who were diagnosed celiac or wheat allergic think they could still eat Ezekiel bread. Dr Phil's wife said she was gluten free on air and said she ate Ezekiel bread and I had a rash of calls.
Totally agree, for me, exercise is not the key. Avoiding the carbs has resulted in my losing weight. Also trying to snack way less and eating slowly. I do some exercises to improve strength, balance, and gain more energy. Do what works for you.
You look amazing as always but I get the great weight loss,so happy for you ♥️! I basically did the same thing and lost thirdly pounds and so far through Christmas I kept it off 😊. I’m much older and was doing it for my health ♥️. God bless you and your sweet family……💞😊💞
Thank you for watching. I haven’t actually been drinking it as much lately, I think once it gets warmer out I’ll do it again since I like making it with fruity tea
You have reminded me that I do need to eat slower......AND.....not snack in the evenings. If I can do those 2 things to start off with, I'll be doing great! Thank you for your advice and what worked for you!
When people say they are cutting back on “Carbs”, I hope people realize that there is a World of difference between healthy grains such as oatmeal and quinoa vs Refined Carbs such as a Chocolate Chip cookie! Cutting out Refined Carbs will always be healthy!!! Also, consider cutting out oils which are 100% Fat and more importantly have absolutely Zero Nutritional value! Healthier options for fat can be found in Avocados, Nuts, Seeds etc. If I’m going to have fat, I want to make sure I’m getting some nutritional value too. I like to remember this saying that I heard: “What you put on your plate determines your Fate!”
I lost 120 lbs in 2 years by just eliminating bread, sugar, crackers etc. No exercise. I ate 2 fresh fruits a day along with veggies and protein. No snacks. It's amazing..I was never hungry. Sugar can be addictive..makes you want to eat more. Good job, Hilary.
Always good to see you! Thank you so very much for talking about this with us. Your transformation has been very noticeable and I had been wondering what changes you had made ot accomplish the weight loss. Congrats ! and thanks for the inspiration! PS Off topic. what happened to your IG account? I don't see it.
coffee time is key 🔑 loved this video. I've found it difficult while breastfeeding to give into cravings. My son is almost a year old now though and with weaning down I feel more able to cut back.
Such sensible advice.

I’ve had my own struggles with learning my body and finally figured it out🌹
You look very healthy! What you are doing obviously works for you because you look great.
Agreed!
Good video, When I had my boys , I lost all my baby weight too. Since I have retired I have gain some weight not to bad. But that’s ok and I am really enjoying my life . Love it.
Congrats Hilary....smart and you look gorgeous!
You look amazing! You did it in a very sensible way too. Thanks for sharing!
I agree, motivation can be the hardest part, but having a clear “why” it’s worth the effort makes all the difference!
I’ve definitely noticed the less I have it, the less I want it
You look amazing! I definitely agree with no snacking, made a difference for me as well.
Thank you so much for sharing. I learned a few new tips from you today. I had noticed you have been losing weight. Thank you.
Hilary you look amazing. Your beauty bubbles up from the inside and flows over to the outside.
Thank you for sharing ideas about healthy eating.
I totally agree with you. Healthy eating is number one. You look great!
You look healthy and great! I love this video about healthy mindset and being willing to make small, doable changes for yourself! Wonderful!
Great video Hilary! I am trying to lose weight and I think your approach is very practical. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Hilary. Thanks so much for the video and for the advice. You look amazing. Take care. God Bless.
I don’t like workout videos either but I discovered Pilates a couple of years back. It’s so good for you. Robin Long from The Balanced Life is amazing. Her videos average 15 minutes and she says that’s all you need. Perfect for busy moms!
I used to love the pilates classes at our gym! I agree, one of my favorite types of workouts
You look wonderful, but most importantly you feel good and are healthy! Now you get to thrift some new spring and summer dresses!!
Thank you for the rec!
The cake looks so delish😋 Love all the tips, Hilary. You look beautiful.❤️ I run, and you’re correct, you have to change your eating habits to see good results.❤️
You look wonderful!!! Such great advice Hilary! Thank you!!🤗
Your channel is delightful Hillary.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Hi there Hilary!! So happy you are doing what’s best for “you” 👍🏻. You look fantastic, but then again I think you always do after having a baby 😁. Hope you’re enjoying your evening!
Thank you for putting this video together!
Thank you for watching! 💚
God bless
You look fabulous! Such good tips and healthy choices.
I say enjoy it in moderation! ❤️
@@OldWorldHome That’s THE best advice for just about everything. Thanks for the reminder Hilary.😘
Thank you for such a realistic perspective on this topic!
Thanks for sharing Hilary, good tips. 👍
Yes movement is necessary and energizing ❤️
Super helpful video with great tips!
I was a good weight postpartum my 3rd but then 2020 came and I ate all my worries... you inspired me today, I'll star to incorporate the slow eating (mum is the last to sit down at the table) and stop snacking as a starter 😉
Every day is a new start ☀️💛
You look absolutely gorgeous, well done.
This makes so much sense! Thx for sharing😊
I really enjoyed this video and really enjoy your sit downs. Thank you for your honesty. I love when you show what your eating and add recipes. Have a great day 🌻
You too 💛
You look great, thanks for the encouragement!
Good job! Great approach.
Congratulations!
That is amazing, congratulations!
Congratulations!
You look great! Something my parents started in their 80s was to swap their larger meal of the day at lunch time and smaller meal for dinner.
It’s more ideal for sure!
So smart!!
Moderation is key! I think you look wonderful! I treat myself to dessert one day a week, but my weakness is salt, I just stop buying those things. I always enjoy food with family and friends - God gave us good food to enjoy!
Real moms doing real life!! Love it
Thanks for the motivation!
Yes that is true, I limited the more refined wheat products ❤️
You look really lean! Thank you for sharing these tips.
That’s awesome, proud of you! ❤️
I loved this video. Do you still drink the apple cider vinegar in your water too? I would love to see more video like this. 👍
Right! A snack before bed/dessert everyday is a bad trap.
I love your recipes ....more please!
I have noticed that you have lost weight, you look great.
Keep up the good work
I lost 120 lbs in 2 years by just eliminating bread, sugar, crackers etc. No exercise. I ate 2 fresh fruits a day along with veggies and protein. No snacks. It's amazing..I was never hungry. Sugar can be addictive..makes you want to eat more. Good job, Hilary.
That’s awesome, proud of you!
What size is your glass canisters in your kitchen ? Thank you.
I believe one gallon, they fit a 5 lb bag of flour for reference 💚
@@OldWorldHome Thank you so very much.Love your videos and your beautiful home,
You have done great!!
You lost the weight by creating a calorie deficit and it doesn't matter if they are from carbs and other macro nutrients. Great job Hillary.
Yes true! Just sharing what worked for me
@@OldWorldHome glad you found what worked for you!
Such a precious time, enjoy him and that time together ❤️
