A2000 Video: • RTX A2000 Review - TH...
The A2000 is a professional graphics card that supports DLSS and Ray Tracing. It's pretty hard to find and costs a lot more than it should right now, so just how capable is this small form factor workstation card when it comes to gaming?
Furthermore, how does it compare to the recently released RTX 3050?
0:00 What is the RTX A2000?
2:30 Gaming Tests and Methodology
2:40 Cyberpunk 2077 - 1080p, 1440p and DLSS
3:45 Far Cry 6 - 1080p and 1440p and Pricing
4:47 God of War - 1080p, 1440p and DLSS
5:41 GTA 5 - 1080p and 1440p
6:30 Battlefield 2042 - 1080p, 1440p and DLSS (Results at 7 minutes should say 1440p)
7:30 Fortnite - DLSS and Ray Tracing + Conclusion
Thanks for watching :)
The Battlefield 2042 results at 7:00 onwards were 1440p results (for both native and DLSS). I accidentally wrote 1080p in the video. Sorry about that. The frame rate figures are correct :)
nah fam its ok, you are doing god's work
keep it up
Absolutely great video, but how dare you edit out the last hit on the god of war boss. I was waiting for it then BAM, GTA V. lmaooo
yeah this ain't an option mate: newegg usa NVIDIA RTX A2000 6GB 192-bit GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 x16 Low Profile Workstation Video Card $1,069.99 - $1,399.60

It's like a rtx 3040 mini edition
Please where did you get that testbench "open case". How is it called and where can I buy it pls
I let out an audible, "Oh my goodness, that's adorable!", that being said I think it's actually a very sleak looking card--it looks stellar surrounded by a lot of black components.
Yeah it looks great, shame about the price at the moment but hopefully it’ll come down over time
@@RandomGaminginHD "shame about the price", if that hasn't been the last few years in a nutshell... 😔
It looks like one of those concretes from the game Control.
@@danimayb normal my ass. If people weren't so accepting of these prices it would have gone down already.
@@RandomGaminginHD It's a professional grade graphics card. They've always been more expensive even in a normal market.
The small blower cooler is so cute and looks awesome! It's also the most powerful sff card now, which is quite nice.
That's the main reason I can see to go for this over RTX 3050/ RX 6600 (assuming you're somewhere where you get the luxury of choice) It's size and lack of external power would make it great for extremely small ITX cases
Does it have an SFF bracket though?
@@meowritz just use some string or a wire, I have used that before on SFF without the SFF bracket.
@@meowritz yes mine came with it (PNY, OEM packaging)
I love the minimalist look of blower cards, its nice to know that brands like Asus offer blower style coolers on their RTX 3070, RTX 3070-ti, and the RTX 3080 cards.
This has been my "unreasonable dream" card, since announced. For a low profile successor of the 1650. But damn the expensiveness of it... still so nice to see you covering it! Unexpected and pleasant surprise!
This! It seems to retail anywhere from £500-£600 from the time of this comment but you can buy a second-hand RTX 2080 in my area for something like £650.
Probably worth buying if you want to make a small/portable gaming rig if you are travelling but besides that there are many better options!
They're under 300$ used rn. I got one for like 260. Decent time to buy one.
Savings are on electricity here while having nice performance...
a year later and now the "4000 sff ada" exists, theres no substitute for small but im not sure who'd pay 1.2 grand for it though.
@@quantum5661 that's the point - performance is valued more than efficiency
70 watts, low profile, 4 mini dps, good performance... This GPU is almost perfect
If it was single slot Id probably go ballistic trying to find one
@Donald Nemesis Gaming I saw this card, looked it up, saw the $1200 price tag and noped. The price is... a lil much
Price tho
@@BigBratMatt To be fair, this card is part of the professional use "Quadro" line of GPUs.
This was more for professional workstations(3D processing, CAD programs, AI algorithms, etc.). The fact that it can play games is a bonus.
its like 700 usd rn and msrp is 450
Man the A2000 is a testament at how Nvidia made a crappy job with the 3050. Seriously it's almost the same performance but it consume half the power and doesn't need external power to run. This will be an amazing option IN THE FUTURE, when most of the people will forget about this little card and look for the mainstream one in the used market.
This is Nvidia showing which customers it values, gamers get scraps and corporations get top bin.
The a2000 has more cuda cores to keep up with the 3050 at a lower power draw.
The die of the A2000 is a heavily binned, also it's a 3060.
@@naamadossantossilva4736 The Corporate company's pay a lot more for their cards they use. So it's not surprising from a business side of things, where the money is coming from. home computers users are always the second best. It's just how business works.
A trend i've noticed in the market, is that when i do find one of those cards like the T600. prices didnt go up til a few tech tubers did a video on em. basically saying. they're only at the price mentioned before the video is put up. seems when the GPU gets attention, prices go up.
this card has potential and is amazing to see just how much performance you can get from a card with no external power, better than most older gen cards.
really impressive how much performance that tiny thing has and for a lot less power too
Ah here it is! The card I asked you to review! OEMs like Lenovo are selling this card if you buy directly from their website store.
That's a very interesting comparison : more cores but less TGP, less VRAM but more bandwidth. Lets you see which game favours which spec.
I really like the look of these workstation grade GPUs. Just like the Radeon WX2100, this has a clean and minimal look to it that I just love.
same. just wish said workstation gpus didn't cost a fuckton of money. i'm so tired of everything i buy looking "gamer" especially as i don't even game anymore.
I had a WX4100 and really love the metallic blue look of the card. Better than the Nvidia Quadro plastic tbh
whats funny is the wx2100 is actually based off the rzx 550 BUT IT COSTS LIKE HALF THE PRICE AND LOOKS BETTER! i honestly dont understant
Nice of you to join the A2000 fan club :) Ours came with half height bracket as well and it's a great option for small builds.
BTW you can run it with the regular game ready drivers.
I just bought an rtx a2000 12gb for $875 for my office/lan pc. Considering the case only supports low profile graphics cards, and given that this card crushes a 1650 for games and work it was a no brainer for me
It's cute until you hear it and see the price. Maybe it's an option in the future because it's very power efficient. But it's probably pointless to OC it since there's no external power connection. Undervolting might be more interesting in this case, reducing its power consumption even more.
strangely where i live its cheaper then the RTX 3050, RTX 3050 goes for €550 here.
@@MR_FIAT wow< that's a lot of cash, i wouldn't recommend to pay that amount for 3050
You are wrong I have seen it can oc for 20%
you can if you're really dedicated add external power and shunt mod it to make it a total beast
Pretty amazing how closely this matches the 3050 using half the power. Makes me wish they made the 3050 a 75W TDP card so you can run it off of PCIe power.
Why do you think it's more expensive? Miniaturisation costs £.
@@TheT0nedude Not really, its a workstation card and that what makes it more expensive. It just happened that it doesn't have LHR compare to geforce cards that's why miners are all over these cards.
@@TheT0nedude but its 3 times the price of a RTX3050 here.
Whats really crappy is that the 3050 couldve shipped with no need for external power. A gpu with no need for extra power can upgrade way more systems.
looking at the difference in clock speeds it might not have been able to but probably could have been close... maybe they can make a 3040 ;)
I agree .
But IT had to win agains AMD rx6500xt .
The A2000 is more a heavily underclocked 3060 than a 3050. Huge bump in CUDA cores at lower clocks to reduce power draw for similar performance but increased manufacturing costs due to the extra cores (which is why the MSRP is much higher). Price is also higher because it's probably made in much smaller quantity with higher binned dies.
@@thedreadedgman anything less than 3050 is garbage and shouldn't exist. Even the 3050 shouldn't exist, not for the way it's called as a budget GPU when just a few years ago 1050 were the low end GPUs for 100$
It's just proof of how idiotic consumers have become and how much Nvidia is ripping people off just because they can
@@thedreadedgman It's just the ray tracing stuff adding to TDP. My 1.7ghz slight undervolt 3060ti only uses 100w in games, surely a 3050 could do 75 without all that stuff bogging down the card (Meanwhile the 3060ti in Furmark barely goes over 1200mhz at 200w.)
A GT1030 replacement? With a cute little mini-blower cooling solution? Brilliant!
Yeah, only about 10-12x more expensive than the GT1030 lol
@@nikkigrace5288 yeah just got to that part, holy cow... the market really is insane.
@@boingkster don't worry, it's not really 10x more expensive.
Just ~4 times since a new 1030 GDDR5 is 130 bucks.
@@oOZellzimaOo it all depends on crypto market which as you know is extremely volatile so who knows 🤔
i wouldnt be suprised at some point maybe we see a rt 4030
I actually really want one of these cards. They've been popping up heavily discounted lately. Would be awesome for a super small ITX build
The clocks are really low, so I guess if you overclock it a little (maybe OCing it is too much for those 75W) it could outperform the 3050 easily, maybe even getting closer to the 3060.
This will become a golden GPU in the second hand market. I hope it gets in a lot of prebuilts like the older low profile/single slot quadros, because that way, in a few years, there will be a lot of those for cheap.
You can normally OC any GPU, even laptops ones.
My GTX 1650 Mobile is running on 50W, +150MHz core clock and +950MHz memory clock. It can run on a core clock of 2055MHz (base boost clock of 1710MHz) and a memory clock of 4950MHz (instead of 4000) completely stable if running below 70°C.
@@rinsenpai135 Yeah, I know, I usually OC all my systems, but I haven't overclocked none of my 1030 GT, mainly because they are in media centers with lp fans/passive heatsinks or/and tiny PSU, so I don't know much about OCing cards that only draw power from the PCIe slot.
Yeeeees, I was waiting for this one! Fav tech youtuber!!!
Not even Hardware Unboxed has a review on this one. You're getting some rare stuff.
That's really impressive for a 75W card. Why doesn't Nvidia give us a 75W 3040 or someting, that would be awesome!!!!!
This card is basically a 3050. Why didn't they make the 3050 75W is beyond my comprehension.
@@LSK2K Because it has a lower core count and much higher clock speed...
@@LSK2K Fewer cores and higher clock gives more speed to a card were big parts (afaik one third of a 3060) are deactivated.
If the 3050 was just an underclocked 3060 it would be the same amount of (active) silicon.
@@jochenkraus7016 I see. Thanks for clarifying that my guy.
@@LSK2K desktop geforce dies were always the garbage dumping ground for nvidia, laptop dies are much better binned as well
Glad I came back to this video. I was wondering why my card wasn't working and I'm glad its because the drivers need to be installed. Picked this card up for $258 in the U.S, about the price of a used RTX 3050. Though prices can vary in the extremes by the looks of it.
2 things I really love about the A2000 is its low profile design which can fit in almost every SFF pc and doesnt need an external power connector, its amazing what this card is capable of for a 70W card.
Wow, thanks! I was waiting for a review of this one, Nvidia needs to make more
Looking at the prices on eBay right now, the cheapest BIN price on the card is 600 quid... Ironically, you can get a Palit RTX 3060 StormX 12 GB from Amazon for 579 quid, which means that you're not really getting good value on what is a cut-down 3050 with half the RAM!
Yeah the 3060 is the better value, but the 6600 non XT seems like the best option (at least in the UK right now)
Furthermore, you seem to be able to get 12 GB 3060s from other retailers for between 470-535 quid.
Admittedly, I got to the point where you mentioned the price that I found, but it's kinda crazy that something that is a cut down version of the 3050 is more expensive than a full version of a 3060!
its absolutely expensive, but it is meant for one exact purpose and it does that perfectly. as much power for a board power only card that takes up as little space as possible. if youre like me who needs an SFF card absolutely then its perfect, the price is just meh
@@RandomGaminginHD same in Romania. just ordered one
@@horridbeast4089 Yea put in a small server rack on the "cheap" for your small time rendering needs with enterprise support from nividia
This brings back 750ti memories: "pop it in your pre-built and you have a gaming pc" is the phrase that come to mind
I believe there’s also both workstation and gaming laptops that have that exact GPU integrated into the motherboard! :)
Just wanted to say thank you for the work putting these videos together :)
I actually just found one of these for $60 USD! Unrivaled price to performance here!
Wait, that is truly GT1030-beating price there while it has RTX 3050 (or even more powerful) performance made it a champ
December 2022 Update: you can buy 6GB A2000's now for the same or less than 3050's on eBay (in the US at least)
If the price was right, that would make a nice little card for a small build or starter PC.
So glad you picked this up. It's a great little card!
Yesss. I've wanted to see this for a long time. Props to you for buying such a GPU.
You keep finding them cards. Keep up the work. Awesome.👍
please keep the 60+ FPS like you do now
we know you're OK with 30 , but some of use HATE low frame rate
Good timing as always, just sat down for lunch.
Of what i was looking for that card, if we look only in gaming performance.... this is literaly a 980Ti, but with GDDR6, Low Profile and only requiring 70W instead of 250W...
i would love to get it into my SFF TV Build
Looks rather familiar that one 😆
Did think I heard a scream in the distance yesterday... must have been you on first boot 😂
😂 Thanks again, I can’t get over how small this thing is 😁
2:13 ahaha the good ol Sharp Aquos still standing at the end of me bed
It's adorable! I'm rooting for this little card.
This fills me with nostalgia for back when I bought a small form factor 1050ti for my small hp pc, 5 years ago :)
Got mine a couple of weeks ago for my HP 8300 SFF. It's amazing how much performance you can get from a 10 year old PC
How has it held up? Just ordered one for a Lenovo m920s sff 😎
@@jgm113 Very good, although temperatures can be on the high side
@@Brebgon i'm thinking about doing some case mods to address that, not quite sure how to go about it but I'll come up with something.
That is the prettiest minimalistic gpu I've ever seen. Wish the gaming ones were that nice.
The Quadro AMP 2000, as I had been calling the lineup prior to the RTX: A Series rebranding, is what I originally predicted for Ampere at the 075 Watt level: GTX 1070 to Undervolted (but not Overclocked) 1070 Ti performance is what I was anticipating since Ampere's original announcement and I had not a doubt in my mind that if the RTX 3050 wasn't set to deliver this on its Memory Bandwidth, then it would be one of the lower end Quadros of this era because of that 0I92 Bit Memory Bus on the AMP 2000, that is proven here and this will also convert into similar performance on the Production side of things (not to mention you've also got Quadro Certification for many applications that can make full use of the card).
Any of you on an OEM system that is still using Polaris, Pascal, or somehow managed to find a Vega 0I2 or Vega 0I6 Prototype Card will be able to find the Quadro AMP 2000 as an ideal upgrade, especially those of us who have some relevant Haswell to Coffee Lake system that lacks a 06 or 08 Pin cable on the Power Supply; a card of this caliber would be perfect for my Hewlett~Packard Pavilion 590-p0057c, I intend to swap out the Intel 8400 and RX Lexa ("550", 02 GB) for a 9900 (No Suffix) and whatever would be 1070 performance or better at 075 Watts and it looks as if I have found my combination with the AMP 2000 and also what we get later on, it fits right in with the 03I0 Watt limit of the Power Supply and will allow for that build to do both Gaming and Workstation tasks at competent levels that were once impossible to witness on the Low Profile front almost Three and a Half Years ago. (:
I have been waiting for this video for a while
You got my hopes up, then the price. 😫
I've watched all the major releases and this just breaks my hearts. Great enough performance in a compact package? Sure, price everyone out of the market despite this selling like gangbusters compared to the RX 6500 XT and all other older offerings combined. Put a real cooler on this and you have another 1050 Ti or a 1650 Super wunderkind. But you know. Something something supply chain something something chip fab output.
Something something yatta yatta
I love the simple black shroud and that cooling fan looks really cool (to me) for some reason.
This is THE LP card I have been looking forward to seeing testing all along. I love its design and the punch it packs for its size. Shame about the price, though.
I’ve finally found a card to stick in my tv pc! Thank god, been waiting for one without a power connecter
7:16 NICE GRANADA TRICK
i miss the days of true budget builds. hoping eth goes proof of stake soon. nice video as always. keep up the good work.
such a strong showing for being a motherboard powered card. Honestly impressed with the little guy !
$250+ on amazon
Thinking about getting one of these for a 2u workstation, the need for low profile is definitely making this a contender
"Hello everyone and welcome. To another video". I was certain I heard that but realised I was wrong when I heard nothing after that. Then I switched on my speakers.
This card is awesome. Check out the techpowerup review. 16% better perf with overclocking is possible, maybe 20% with curve tuning in afterburner. Performance is the on pair with a overclocked 2060 while using less than half of power. Amazing!
That's such a sleek looking card. And the performance is really commendable!
i wish more gpus looked like this one. Not a fan of the RGB puke that's everywhere nowadays.
Also! It would be cool if you could add the core clock display, so we can see the boost frequency during gameplay! Damn i'd love to overclock this card
if only founders edition cards actually existed
I’d love to see how much of an overclock could be put on this thing, as wells as how good of an undervolt it could do for both ends of the spectrum
I missed hearing the price early in the video, so I checked it on Amazon and found £630, at which point I lost interest.
The more videos of yours that I watch the happier I am that I bought my 1070ti brand new for £357 some years ago. That card still hold up.
The performance is quite op actually, nice video!
I think it's really quite impressive performance given it just runs off mitherboard power! Thank you for testing with RT and DLSS, seeing how it has more hardware dedicated to that than the 3050.
I like how every video has a different editing style.
The mini blower cooler gives a nostalgia from NVIDIA's old founders edition cards. and it is awesome haha
this tiny thing performs on par with a 980 ti, 1070, 1660 ti
For just 70W,This is absolutely insane and especially at this form factor.
EXACTLY the same framerate I get on 1440p in Cyberpunk 2077 with my i7 3930k and GTX 1080,around 50-57,and average is 54
Pretty much what I was getting in Cyberpunk 2077 on my 2070 super maxP laptop mostly high (not the insane setting) besides the dumb clouds or 1440p on my monitor if I added DLSS quality. No Ray tracing though mainly because I haven’t found a game where the performance trade off seems worth it.
We need more gaming GPU with design like this. Sleek, clean and it will suits so well in black theme build.
honestly im curious how low of clock can u put the gpus u have before they become unstable 300mhz 500mhz 800mhz 1000 ect how much performance would they suffer
I was really surprised !!!
£600 on ebay. Crazy money.
I suggest you also compare these "pro" cards in productivity workloads such as lightbaking in unity or rendering with blender because these cards are not that cheap and buying one makes sense only if this card performs better than an rtx 3050 in productivity workloads. With that said there's nothing wrong with it's gaming performance but for gaming purpose only, buying one isn't ideal...
i want one. it's low profile, it's has old school vibe with the blower cooler, it's decent enough.
That's a loud smol cute little thing, prices are still outrageous! I'm so happy I managed to find a 6600XT for 400 in Aug2021. No way can find one now for that!

This card is currently going for around $1000 usd on ebay in my region right now
Honestly, I’ve been rocking my 6500xt that I picked up a few days ago for a decent price and it’s a good card. I don’t regret not waiting
Good to hear, just make sure you keep your cards VRAM limits in check and it performs like a trooper.
if only you have PCIe Gen 4.0, because in 3.0 the performance will be screwed up detrimentally.
Weird that 1440p on GTAV doesn't fair much better on the 3050 compared to the 1080.
Please revisit the A2000 if you get the chance now that the 6gb model can be had for $250 in the used market
This is in my SFFPC, I 3d printed a low profile bracket for it. Works great.
It would be nice if they made a 3050 in a low profile model. One can only dream I guess.
