There’s no such thing as a “starter” rolex, it is a new money concept. A rolex is a rolex, you buy the one that suits your personality/use and for what it stands for.
Rolex will just not sell it to you, they want you to buy their crap they couldn't sell.

Exactly. It's not a pissing contest. Some people base their made up terms such as "entry level" and "starter Rolex" on the watch's price I'd reckon. Why should I give up on a "starter" Rolex that I really like and spend much more on something that I don't even like ???

My first Rolex just purchased this week was the new air-king. I love this watch. 🍷 coming from strictly buying gshocks, my last and most expensive watch purchased was the gwg-20001a5 … great gshock, forged carbon and crystal sapphire. But this air king, wow! Cheers to all the first time buyers !

@@iamkyleclimerword of advice brother, although a Rolex is a bit of a jump from the watches you’re thinking of, the Rolex will still preserve more value so you can enjoy some jewelry while having a better exit strategy, and affecting your net worth less. If you can still eat and provide for yourself after buying the Rolex, it’s a better deal!
I really love the yacht master. The older version still platinum but the dial and model feel classy. The newer one looks sporty and I like it, but I’m not sure I could pull that off in a dress shirt and tie. I like that you let everyone know what price you should expect. That was dead accurate. That being said my entry Rolex is the 36mm Explorer 1. It feels good. It goes with everything. I will never get tired of it and look forward to all the memories.
One day I’ll get my money up enough to buy a president off you guys. Love the vids keep em coming 💯

I love seikos...i know they are cheaper but a grand seiko is a fine watch. Im also big into omegas. I have a few rolexs they just cause problems ppl notice them.

Right now I'm looking at my absolutely beautiful Casio MTP-1302D in Sunburst Dark Grey with gorgeous silver hour indices & doubled at 12, 3, 6 & 9 hours.
The fluted bezel is minimalist but perfect size actually to me, more tasteful vs my BILs legit Rolex Oyster, Datejust that has twice the size / depth of fluting.
The great part is we all get what we want:
Beauty & quality at an Everyman or Rich man's price.

My first Rolex was a 6694 oyster date from the 60s paid 1200 out the door still have it and love it doesn’t get as much wear now that I’ve got my 16233 saving for a yellow gold day date now🙏
That is a great choices Charlie. I bought 3 rolexes over 30 years. They have over tripled in value, all date just gold white gold stainless. You can get a second hand vintage Rolex for about 3-5k, start there if your budget is low not 13k 😂
You can get an oyster precision for under 2 any day of the week.

Just got my first Rolex for $3100. Vintage Datejust ref 16000 on oyster bracelet in excellent shape for a 40 year old watch. Previous owner just had it serviced and it keeps excellent time losing only 1.5 seconds per day.
I would advise for a new Explorer or OP 36/41 as you can buy it for new at RRP. A ceramic submariner date is like almost twice the price.
I thought this would be helpful for me to decide between the Explorer and the oyster perpetual 41. D'oh!

I agree. At these prices and for a first watch I would buy Omega. You can find some nice ones for 50 percent off retail for preowned and if you look around long enough you can get 60-65 off retail
I've got rolex and tiffany watches, a patek Philippe nautilus but day to day I wear casio and Oris, I think Oris are very underrated for what they are, just stay away from the Kermit edition 😂 unless you like that sort of thing

The good thing about buying a Rolex as your first big watch is that most of them are guaranteed to retain all their value (as long as you don’t get some odd color or two toned watch that sells poorly).
I really want a Speedmaster but I refuse to spend $7k on it knowing it will lose half its value immediately. With omegas and such, I really recommend you buy something used. They depreciate to about 50% and then retain the value.

Stay away from Rolex. It’s a mass produced watch with nothing to back it other than great marketing. With far less money you can buy yourself a used Patek or Breguet and start off on the right foot. Don’t fall for the trap of fashion or at least don’t consider yourself a watch enthusiast
