Thank you baby girl after watching all the other “DO NOT COME TO L.A “ videos yours is a very refreshing take .I am a girl with a plan so I shld be okay moving to L.A as soon as this corona thing dies.
I’m so glad you enjoyed watching my video! Yes! I think a plan is very important especially if you’re someone who is coming here for a reason. I know my take is not the same take that everyone else has, but I’m sure it can help a lot of people who may not have thought about it the way i did! And I will also say a lot of people that post those don’t come to LA videos aren’t even from LA themselves. Which is ridiculous. LOL Good luck in your journey! 🤗🤗🤗
Corona is never dying, and don’t move to Los Angeles with no money. Don’t be that stupid! Stack up at least $10-15K, have a recurring income of $3-5K coming in, healthy eating habits, dependable good running vehicle, health insurance, some knowledge of running or building a small business, great credit. Basically everything she didn’t mention. 😂
You clearly didn’t watch the video, but nice try! And you don’t need 10-15k to move to Los Angeles. That’s more of a preference. But nowhere near necessary.
Thank you! That means ALOT! I just saw too many when i was moving to LA that were just blowing smoke. I’m here to give it to y’all real raw and regular!

Just about to turn 19 in 3 weeks, and I’ve already made the decision to move out to LA alone, and make my future 10X!! Thanks for the tips, it helped!!
Love the no nonsense approach to this video. Put it in my save list to rewatch later. I would add that, as a 40 year old planning to move to L.A. to get some performing work(smaller pool for 40+ new actors), this list applies just as well for older people as it does for younger, fresh out of college types(though technically I am working on my psych degree....my backup plan is to work in forensic psychology). I would add to it that, in a city like L.A. where you spend a ton of time in a car, choosing a vehicle that is both gas efficient and inexpensive to insure, but fits your needs, is a wise move. Little things like that can save a ton of money in a place that can already be ridiculously expensive.
Yes! I agree with all of it! And thank you for watching. 🥰 I’m all about no nonsense, we have goals to accomplish! good luck to you and your degree!! Forensic Psychology is sooo cool!
Tyra The Creative, just kind of fell into it, but obviously it’s my backup, in case my acting career doesn’t work out(though I am confident it will, but still have to pay the bills, and if I can set my own hours, all the better).

It's been hard but I think in the end, it will be worthwhile and I am still happy to have the opportunity to become an actress or model here that's my goal!! ❤😍

i'm working at a restaurant in New Jersey too. NJ sucks and I'm moving to LA (or somewhere near if LA too expensive when I move) for my career as I've been doing film &voice over for 7+ years. It's what I enjoy and I have a talent agent, but I hope to get my big break and possibly better representation when I move
I have a decent amount of money saved for 23 but also worried because I have big goals and aspirations but also wanna be able to sustain a life I want to live with cash flows and work on music and acting. I graduated with minor in theater and just obv wanna be successful but feel stuck at home.
The reason I want to move to LA is because there are some colleges over there that I'm interested in. I also want to give me and my little cousin a chance at better opportunities. The only problem is that I can't get a job because my leg has been messed up for about two years and we don't know if it will ever be the same. I'm 16 right now and I just don't know what to do because anytime when I try to talk to any "adult figure" in my life, they either tell me that I'm too young to decide my future or that I will get nowhere's in life being a "sell-out". At this point, I could care less about college. I just want to give my cousin the best life I can give him. He would be moving in with me 2 years after (if) I move there.
People will sometimes project onto you their own fears and insecurities to discourage you from doing the things you want to do. Always trust yourself and make sure you (and your cousin) are good. I hope everything works out for you and your cousin.
Wow…. A lot of people have asked me why I’m trying to do this and this video will now be my entire answer… she hit every question I’ve thought about and researched spot on.. all her advice is a great heads up for u js
YES! There definitely is. Your vibe attracts your tribe. But, Successful Black people are not hard to find in LA. People come out here with a purpose and a plan, you’ll be able to tell by their energy if they’re someone you want to form a relationship with!
There is , good luck getting into these cliques without social status. LA’s currency is social status , and if you don’t have it you’re shit out of luck. I’m born and raised here , I’m actually in the streets talking with all kinds of people. These rose colored views of Los Angeles are easy to have when you ain’t lived here and been thru the mud. Be very cautious , the idea of LA is magnificent but the reality is disheartening.
@@thetruth603 That’s every single place tho. I’m from south Florida and live in Atlanta. People think so Flo is just beaches and parties but don’t know that dark side. But anywhere you go there will be good and bad
Currently planning my future. Looking at my options. But to achieve my dream i most likely have to move outside of my own country. At least i’m not bad placed, so i would be able to save up money when time comes. But it’s still in the future. Can only take one step at a time.

just watched 3 of your moving to LA videos and the only question that comes to mind is....could I just move in with you?! hahaha jk I loved your videos, very VERY helpful for sure
This video was very insightful. I plan on moving in 2 years. Which gives me time to finish my degree. My husband wants to be an actor and is currently a streamer on Twitch. He didn’t tell me until recently and we have been together for almost three years but thought everyone would make fun of him for wanting to become an actor. I originally wanted to go to NYC because I’ve been there plenty of times and I fell in love with the city. But now we have a daughter and I feel like LA would be better for my daughter. I definitely am waiting the 2 years though to make sure I have a career that pays good first so we won’t be in a bind with money and so I can pay for anything I can to help him achieve his dream.
aww thank you! those are all great Ideas! i think i would have to do that! i actually lived on the east coast for a while and realized it wasn't for me! then i came out here! i will have to give the full story one day!
@@TyraTheCreative I live on the east coast right now. I hate it but it's worst that I live in upstate ny. There are very little things to do up here. And I feel like I am better off in a big city on the west coast or out west in general so yea. And I especially dislike most of the people in New York state. Yes, people in los angeles can be mean, superficial, and fake. But NY is not any better. Most New Yorkers are rude or judgemental and cold, also detached. I'm more extroverted but it's hard to make friends up here because of how the people are. I'm in high school but people up here in general are cliquey and only go for people that are similar to them. Or people that they think are cool.
HI Tyra. I love your video and your personality You have done a good job . I am preparing to move to LA as soon as I got my nursing license but my great fear about LA is the earthquakes . Please what part of LA is not at risk or less at risk for earthquake including long Beach . Please your reply will be highly appreciated . Thanks and God bless you .
Hi Hannah! Thank you so much for your kind words! Girllllll this is one of my biggest fears as well! There is no place that is less at risk out here simply because earthquakes can happen just about anywhere. And the after shocks can be felt for hundreds of miles away. But, i can assure you, it’s not as bad as your imagination leads you to believe. There’s only been 2 “major” ones since I’ve been here in two years. I say “major” because these are the ones i felt, that made dishes move and things like that. And yes i was terrified because i was like “wow, why is the ground moving” and i had never experienced one, but i soon got over it. And i know I’ll be afraid every time it happens for a while, but i can’t allow that to stop me from living! I will say, people who live in high rises never feel them. Or Atleast that’s what I’m told. I hope this helps!!
Yes, don’t wait. But also, if you already have kids, it is still possible! I don’t want parent to thing they can’t do it! It take a little more planning but they can do it to!! 😇
Well in that case, You do it by faith! I can’t really give a plan for this type of move. But, I suggest that you have at least a months worth of expenses saved up before you move. So you have wiggle room just in case things don’t happen as quickly as you think they will. Which is what I did.
@@TyraTheCreative Me again. Thank God will have more than a month's rent. Going with about 5K (God has blessed and continues to bless me financially). Planning to stay on a friend's couch for a bit or air bnb. Then share a room until I get income enough to get my own modest place--Baldwin Hills, NoHo, Culver City, Studio City--like that. Def. gonna watch the video on how to make money in LA.--one friend pays 4K/mo for her place! This is gonna be a God thing--I don't have the ability to generate that kind of money without Him. But then why would I want it any other way? :-)
Hey lil sis! Great video but it scared me at first....had to turn down the volume...lol..😂Anyhoo....I'm considering relocating there from Cleveland. Been dreaming of it for 2 years. What is the situation there now, in light of COVID19? Specifically how's Hollywood looking, is traffic still as chaotic as is the norm, what about the beaches and people hiking? How has COVID affected gas prices and functionality of businesses? I also heard of a recent earthquake that hit LA. Can you shed some light? Thanks and great video.
lol i can be a little loud! traffic isnt bad right now because of quarantine and beaches are closed, gas prices are low. like $2.20 a gallon in some places! I dont know if people are hiking because i dont hike! lol and yes, we did just have a mild earthquake. shook my entire building, but its still standing. lol
Ight, here's my lil story. I want to move to L.A its been a plan since 2017, im chasing the dream of becoming a animator for example: cartoon network. Problem: FAILED online animation college, and literally am BROKE! I got less then 1000 to my name. Originally i was meant to have 2 ppl go move with me to california but now it looks like imma be alone. Now that i listed it all out here i guess NVM It aint gonna happen.
I am looking into moving in 2.5 years. I’m from the UK rn but I’m saving up. Getting all of my exams done. I’m unsure on what I would do to be able to get immigration and stuff but I’m hoping to have around $10k saved before I move over there.
Same here bro , ive been looking into visas a little bit but i don’t know if you can just buy a green card think the best place to find out is at the American Embassy i know there’s one in london and probably manchester
Good luck to you! I wish you the best! My best advice is to save up money, ESPECIALLY since you’ll be moving from another country, away from family. But YOU CAN DO IT!! 🤩🤩 i believe in you!
I'm moving my son down with a car, $20k and his job, blue collar $17hrly. Where should he look for an apartment, no more than 2k and any other tips. Moving from nyc
Ooo! That’s exciting! You can honestly find nice apartments for under $2000 in a lot of places. But the key is finding one with parking. I suggest North Hollywood, but it depends on where his job is because morning and afternoon rush hour are a real thing and living close to his job would help a lot. Where is his job located?
Oh yes! I’m in Koreatown as well! My first apartment didn’t have parking so I moved once I got my car. Parking in Koreatown can be very frustrating, so parking that comes with the building should be on the list! And you are welcome! 🤗
Hey I will move anywhere that has amazing city night life and I can afford... I don’t care where but like I’m bored with my life, I’m a musician, and my parents are making me feel like I am worthless and low priority... Great video! I'm about to start college (I'm 16 and from the UK) but I am 100% certain I want to move to LA when I have the money because I want to pursue an acting career (I have no experience as of yet but I want to take acting classes). Since I have no experience, am I too late? Would it be possible for me to move to LA with no experience before hand and find acting classes once I've moved? I know I'm young but I know this is what I want to do and I know LA is the place where I need to be! Any advice?
Yes! You can take acting classes here! I think doing research in living in another country would do you a lot of good like watching more videos like this, i know i don’t talk about moving from one country to another so there may be some things that you should know that I don’t personally know, so just make sure you are researching and fully educated on the move!

He would be moving in with me 2 years after (if) I move there.
i believe in you, ALWAYS follow your dream!!!
People will sometimes project onto you their own fears and insecurities to discourage you from doing the things you want to do. Always trust yourself and make sure you (and your cousin) are good. I hope everything works out for you and your cousin.
Thank you so much for this video super helpful 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Glad it was helpful!
See you all In LA :)
I learned a lot and you should post your favorite hobbies in LA
Wow…. A lot of people have asked me why I’m trying to do this and this video will now be my entire answer… she hit every question I’ve thought about and researched spot on.. all her advice is a great heads up for u js
im so glad you enjoyed this video!! good luck to you!
I have a question. I’m in Atlanta, and I like all the black excellence here. Is there community in LA that is black and successful?
YES! There definitely is. Your vibe attracts your tribe. But, Successful Black people are not hard to find in LA. People come out here with a purpose and a plan, you’ll be able to tell by their energy if they’re someone you want to form a relationship with!
Tyra The Creative Great answer! Thank you 🙏🏾
There is , good luck getting into these cliques without social status.
@@jacksp8de I heard about the sketchy area like liberty city in Florida.
Currently planning my future. Looking at my options. But to achieve my dream i most likely have to move outside of my own country. At least i’m not bad placed, so i would be able to save up money when time comes. But it’s still in the future. Can only take one step at a time.
Exactly! One step at a time. You got this. I believe in you! 😇😇😇
Congratulation on 18 month Ms Loretta Devine!! 🙌🏾😂 No but Seriously, you are doing great things and you should be so proud of yourself! Thanks for always coming through with the helpful videos! 💛

Hawthorne, lawndale, Torrance, Gardena, and Carson are good places to live in LA county.
This is very helpful, realistic advice❤
Glad it was helpful! 💛

So no one is gonna come on the video and tell sis that her foundation routine is AMAZING... OK...
thank you!
I love your energy
awww thank you so much!!
I wish you both so much prosperity and success!!! Good luck to you!! ❤️
I love this topic. 😀
Love your videos!!!! Please do more on how you are pursuing your career out there!!! why did you choose LA over Atlanta or NYC?
aww thank you! those are all great Ideas! i think i would have to do that! i actually lived on the east coast for a while and realized it wasn't for me! then i came out here! i will have to give the full story one day!
Tyra The Creative yes please do!!!!
Hi miss 🥰thank u for it
Thank you for helping me out
HI Tyra.
I love your video and your personality
You have done a good job .
I love those video games
Where do you live in La?
Thank you so much for the information
you are so welcome! im right outside of downtown la in Koreatown!
GREAT TIPS
thank you!!
I want to move to LA for a act school 😕
Do it! I believe in you!!
Also - do it before you have kids because they change the game completely!
Yes, don’t wait. But also, if you already have kids, it is still possible! I don’t want parent to thing they can’t do it! It take a little more planning but they can do it to!! 😇
I wanna go to UCLA so this was helpful xD
Yay!! Good luck with that!! I hope it’s everything you dreamed!
I want to move to LA for new experiences
Do it, but don’t be stupid and move with no money. You’ll end up homeless and hungry. You’ve been warned!
Good Luck to you! 😃
I want to move to LA to work on my music career
Do it! Just make a plan and when the time is right, come on out here! ❤️
Thanks I subscribed!
Great stuff, thanks. How do you do it when you’re broke broke? Like you have gas money to get there plus maybe a week at an air bnb and that’s it?
Well in that case, You do it by faith! I can’t really give a plan for this type of move. But, I suggest that you have at least a months worth of expenses saved up before you move. So you have wiggle room just in case things don’t happen as quickly as you think they will. Which is what I did.
@@TyraTheCreative That makes sense. Thanks!
You’re welcome! 😇
I dont know if people are hiking because i dont hike! lol and yes, we did just have a mild earthquake. shook my entire building, but its still standing. lol
Can you move to L.A from Australia with money
???
Did you watch the video?
Thanks so much new subbing
yayyyy! welcome! welcome! welcome! 🥰
I frs took notes
Yessss notes!!
Is there any chance I'll find an under the stairwell, Harry Potter kinda room, or basement kinda apartment in LA?
Something cheap
Super super cheap
Lol yes, there is definitely a chance! Here in LA the housing possibilities are endless! How much is super cheap??
@@TyraTheCreative great to know!
I don't know, something under 500 😅
Yea! You can find that! It may be a bit Grungy! But definitely some options in that price range.
@@TyraTheCreative thank you you so much for your reply 💕🎸
You’re very welcome! 😇
Now that i listed it all out here i guess NVM
It aint gonna happen.
thank god
I am looking into moving in 2.5 years. I’m from the UK rn but I’m saving up. Getting all of my exams done. I’m unsure on what I would do to be able to get immigration and stuff but I’m hoping to have around $10k saved before I move over there.
Same here bro , ive been looking into visas a little bit but i don’t know if you can just buy a green card think the best place to find out is at the American Embassy i know there’s one in london and probably manchester
Thanks a lot.
I'm from asia i dunno if it is posibble to move countries with no money but I really want to move to LA 😢
Good luck to you! I wish you the best! My best advice is to save up money, ESPECIALLY since you’ll be moving from another country, away from family. But YOU CAN DO IT!! 🤩🤩 i believe in you!
What kind of camera do you have?
canon!
On a different note you are funny 😁
Thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
what's the best cities to moving in LA?
it depends on your vibe, do you want to be by the beach, the suburbs, the city?
Is $30,000 enough saved good enough?
That’s PLENTY. Lol 1/10 of that would do!
@@TyraTheCreative Korea town. Thanks for your response. Very helpful
Oh yes! I’m in Koreatown as well! My first apartment didn’t have parking so I moved once I got my car. Parking in Koreatown can be very frustrating, so parking that comes with the building should be on the list! And you are welcome! 🤗
Try looking for apartments in Hawthorne, el segundo, lawndale, Torrance, Carson, or Gardena.
Hello how did you know x box company was Legit?
Because I worked with them through my management company.
Nah nah you didn’t need to call me out
LOL! how'd i call you out?
Hey I will move anywhere that has amazing city night life and I can afford... I don’t care where but like I’m bored with my life, I’m a musician, and my parents are making me feel like I am worthless and low priority... I know that’s toxic and they’ve stayed that way my whole life so the only way to stop it would be to move... Any tips on literally anything???
you are 1000% god given confirmation that this is what the lord wants for me!!!!! Shara jakes is amazing and its her and her fathers word that even sent me here I pray the lord allows me to be close enough to attend 😭😭🪔🪔🪔🪔🪔💕🕊🧳
I appreciate your video but I feel like if you believe in yourself anything is possible
She said that at the end
Omg🤦🏽♀️ no money is no money! There is only 1 meaning to that statement
and what's that?
Oh hello Im from uk too and Ineed to ask u about ur college can we talk somewhere?
There are acting classes and you can check yelp to see if there are any listings for acting classes.
💯
🥰🥰🥰🥰
😭😭😭😭😭😭 did she say running from something she funny people move for better. Jobs they have family I mean it's other reasons ppl move to LA 😂 I never seen nobody run from anything I just think ppl want better that's my opinion love your story tho thanks for the info God bless 😇
Yes. People run from things all the time. Hardship.. grief.. family.. broken relationships..all that. And thanks!
