Looking for LOST Bull on a GREEN Horse.

- Today I'm going to my friends ranch to look for one of his bulls. I'll be riding through a 100 acre pasture on a 7 year old gelding horse I've been working with since March 4th of this year. This will be my first time riding him off of my property since then so I'm looking forward to seeing how he does in a new environment. Time to cowboy up and ride.

I can't see any spook in that horse. Most ranchers don't want a horse with too much energy. Most ranchers go their entire life without learning the principle of bend. Remember Clinton say's the key to vertical flexion is lateral flexion. So throw those draw reins away and rely on bending to a stop. All correct training starts with bending to a stop.
Hey John, I wasn’t using draw reins. Those are just split reins with a martingale. I got this horse in for training March 4th. He had previously bucked off his owner and broke 6 of her ribs. That was 2 years ago and he hadn’t been ridden since. He definitely has some spook but it’s nothing like it was even 1 month ago. We’ve been workin hard everyday. Trust me we work on the bend. He’s super soft. Go back and watch some of my shorts working with him. Btw: not being argumentative. Wanted you to know what equipment I was using and why I was using it. I enjoy a good horsemanship convo
I think a martingale does wonders once a horse is ready for that step..
