  • On June 17, 2015, there was a shooting at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. Polly Sheppard was in the room during the attack. She was confronted by the shooter, but spared. Rev. Anthony Thompson's wife, Myra, was killed, along with eight other close friends. In this interview, Anthony and Polly share how they coped with the aftermath of the tragedy. They talk about the history of slavery in Charleston and the racial tensions in the city, which are slowly being healed through interfaith events and cooperation between churches.
You can find Reverend Anthony's book on our store here: bit.ly/2WA5Dq9
They also share how God spoke to each of them, encouraging them to forgive the shooter for his crimes, and how that forgiveness helped them heal and find freedom from hatred.

True Christianity! God bless both of you. Your loved ones did not die in vain. God is using that evil for good as promised in Romans 8:28. And you will get to spend eternity reunited with them!!

I totally believe that glow before someone dies, my brother in law had that same glow that everyone noticed day before he died.

Dylan saw God in you, Ms. Polly Sheppard. He saw JESUS...The eyes are described as windows to the soul....Christ followers are called not just to represent Jesus but also to Reflect Him. She Reflected Jesus. Reminds me of the scene in Ben Hur when the guard was mad at the man who gave water to # 41or Judah Ben-Hur...He lifted the whip to flog the man...but got hit by the Purity of that man's soul when they made eye contact. It was Jesus.. God in the Flesh!!!😊
Jim Daly, God Bless your Heart!!! God smiles at you...you are so compassionate and authentic. God Bless Focus on the Family. God Bless the victims no Victors of this tragedy in Jesus name. Amen.

I love that they laugh about the Pastor's wife, Myra, being a Perfectionist!!!😀 Laughter is Healing...Cathartic!!!
Love how Pastor reflects "I hadn't made her that happy!" It had to be God's Peace that made her Glow in Joy!!! Amen.
