Internet broken. Fuzzy nut. Well done JHS...the internet is yours for today. And as always thanks for the wisdom. You folks are a true music appreciation resource. Thanks Josh and Company. 2 JHS pedals and growing.
I’m not a bass player, but gotta take a moment and say the bass in this episode was like a fan edit version of Bambi…staring Addison as “THUMPer”. Loved it!!!
"There's No Home For You Here" is a great track from Elephant. My favourite White Stripes album is probably White Blood Cells. A lot of the tracks are like alternate versions of Elephant tracks. "Black Math" is quite similar to "Fell In Love With A Girl"; "There's No Home For You Here" and "Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground" also use a similar riff. The two records compliment each other really well.
BEST PEDAL GEAR SHOW ON THE WEBS!!! ❤️ YOU GUYS!!!!! Freaking LOLs for daaaaaaaaays! idk how the heck yall even got this one done when I consider how many takes it must of taken to get through it without laughing the WHOLE time. And hands down one of the best freakin jam episodes you rascals have ever done!
I got inspired and starting ripping knobs off all my pedals. I'm not sure the delay is all that useful with only the volume knob, but idk maybe I'll find out soon enough if I keep using it 😛
This has got to be one of the best episodes of the channel… really enjoyed it. Also, my one knob pedal is the LPB by ehx, it’s pretty nice considering it’s not expensive.
It's a great circuit. Easy to build and if like me you use pedals for sounds capes and it's a great boost for quiet devices. Its also a pre curser to the Big Muff, so it kind of fits in todays show. You can add a knob to bring in more dirt very easily, this could be a toggle though to keep the one knob beauty.
Hii. I really enjoy your channel. I love you company's ethos. You really do hit the target. I've bought boutique, bought vintage, and even gone diy. Truth for me is that your gear works and is unlikely to break in a shart of plastic (at worst) or have a stomp fail or knob crackly hissy (unlikely but more likely 😁) Anyways, apart from the Crybaby, my current pedal setup doesn't have anything that cost more than $40 new.Klon-Rat-Delay-Reverb-Looper. It sounds great. I play a vintagey partsy Strat into an Epiphone Valve Junior combo. Not fancy but it sounds good to me and its what I've been using at home for the past 10+ years. The cheapo knock-offs are very good nowadays. But given that there are pedal hounds who are drooling for Arion and RAK pedals - Well who knows. At the same time, after the sound, there is something to be said for the real deal (I still regret sellingmy BeeBaa fuzz). But for me that usually has to do with the "user interface" than the sound of the new clones. I play modular synths a lot. And there is a lot to be said for a nicely built module with good jacks and nice knobs. Sure you can usually go cheaper - but those miniclones are often less fun to play physically. I don't know. If I had the cash I'd go for a cool pedal like these JHS ones. If I was short I'd go cheap knowing that there it was there tonewise.
Not necessarily my favorite White Stripes track but one that made a big impact on me was "Fell In Love With A Girl". I was kind of in a weird place in my life at the time, bogged down with the family life, the mortgage, the job and life's responsibilities, but it helped snap me out of a rut and kinda helped put my life back on a more creative musical path. Thanks Jack White I needed that at the time. And remember Josh you asked.
Love your jams. You rock. Just cut my nob off and thrown it away. Now I just got fuzz and no nobs. Like you said much better now. Keep up the good work.
You should do an updated version of the video you did on one knob pedals years ago! And maybe include two knob pedals in the video as well! Thanks again! 👍💫💥🎵
The Does it Doom Fuzzcoven is a super good one knob fuzz. All the pedals they have made are one knob! They only make limited editions and they sell out quickly but if you come across one-or if they’re reissued-they are worth getting.
Such a good album, so its hard to pick one, but it would likely either be "I Wan't To Be The Boy To Warm Your Mother's Heart" or "Ball and Biscuit" ...Favorite Album is De Stijl and my favorites songs are "Hello Operator" and "Apple Blossom." Great video!
You unknowingly just created a new genre of country Fuzz Fart Country. Never been a fuzz kinda player because I can never get a good result just south of refried bean farts ... this show may have changed my fuzz destiny by knowing there are excellent fuzz pedals out there that don't cost 7K . Good Jams too .
I am loving the hell out of the humor and the high-quality jams, even though I think a fuzz needs at least 2 knobs (dirt and volume), or maybe make the one knob the volume control and set the dirt to autodestruct internally. Keep up the great work, guys!
G'day Josh, Thanks for a great video, & an even greater Record Time. I'm a big White Stripes/Jack White fan, so I do have Elephant on CD. Being such a big fan, I don't have a favourite album, but I will tell you what I like about the Elephant album. 1. In The Cold, Cold Night - The 1st time Meg sang a WS song. 2. Ball & Biscuit - Great guitar work. 3. You've Got Her in Your Pocket - Different guitar style, but just more great guitar work. 4. Little Acorns - I love the squirrel story. A girlfriend told me once that she was having problems. I told her the squirrel story. Her eyes lit up, & all her troubles disappeard. 5. Hypnotize - Just a great song. 6. I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself - A great version of a song that I had originally heard performed by Marcia Hines in the 80's. I know that Dusty Springfield & Dionne Warwick also performed it, but I remember Marcia's version 7. It's True That We Love One Another - I taught this song to my nephew when he was about 5 yo, & we sang it for his mum. But he forgot his line; "I love uncle Andrew like a big ol' brother..." 8. You're Pretty Good Looking (For a Girl) - A great song to play when you invite a girl out (home?) on a date. I know it's from De Stijl, but that doesn't matter. 9. Apple Blossom - Yes, another De Stijl track, but I jammed with a girlfriend once, to this track. She played her bass, & I was on rhythm, calling out the chords. It was the 1st time I made actual music music with a girl, & it was soooo sweet. Once again, thanks for a great video. I'm enjoying your channel at the moment, & I'm working my way through the Popular Uploads section... I'm hoping to catch up to you within the next few weeks. Until I do, keep up the good work. Andrew
Gonna highly highly recommend the Fredric Effects Demon Fuzz as one belonging on this list. A recreation inspired by the classic EHX op amp Muff Fuzz, the tiny little things. This one has a germanium and silicon choice of diodes!
I hope this grows into comparing other 1 knob pedals, like choruses and reverbs, etc. There are a lot of 'em, and some of them are super sweet. Oh, and then when that gets old, a series on pedals with way too many knobs. There have been quite a few such pedals on this channel already. It's especially common with advanced delays, but then there's the crazy amp simulators with more knobs than the fricken amp would have haha.
Elephant was the first of there's I got fully into I might have to go with white blood cells as my favorite but they are my favorite band of all time, very happy there have been man live show recordings released over the years... I'm also Infamous locally for playing one know guitars so this video really speaks to my soul
Just have to say, Elephant changed the way I think about music forever. I was 11 or 12 and we had a really cool music teacher in school who showed us songs from the Grammy nominees that year. I was immediately hooked on Seven Nation Army and it’s uniqueness. My parents eventually got me the CD and I was blown away by the diversity of music by two people over the course of just one record. Finally something that appealed to my dads rock tastes, my moms country tastes, and most importantly my own wild punk rock tastes. Almost 20 years later and it stands the test of time. Absolutely a top 5 album of all time for me. That’s all, cheers everyone!
I took Josh’s instructions to heart and so there goes my Line 6 DM4 & MM4, my 90’s Black Russian Big Muff, my Whammy Wah xp100, my Dan Electro Daddy O, my Freq Out, my Plus Pedal Sustainer, oh and and my Helix LT (luckily I sold a bunch of pedals after I got the Helix). Now, all I’m left with is my BBE Sonic Stomp from my closet….Awesome!. No more knobs at least. Damn you JHS!!!
Favorite White Stripes record is White Blood Cells. First one I bought and it's a perfect album to me. Raw performances but great sounding recordings. It's the sweet spot for them as far as I'm concerned
My favorite one knob pedal is Native Audio's Running Wolf, a simple but very dynamic little pedal. Sadly, I don't think it's on their main production line anymore, and mine was a gift from a friend four or five years ago
Happy Birthday, fortyboy, i would like to thank you. I am trying (a clone) of the EQD sunny o life pedal (ratfuzz), highly recommend to try the original.
This episodes got some charm in it. I can’t not through Vick Audio Lucky 13 fuzz into this ring though, just has that one knob mojo Also, that octave effect is on ball and biscuit and girl you have no faith in medicine, both amazing
The guys laughing at "the fuzzy nuts" circuit, almost like Beavis and Butthead... Funny! 😆 I have a same type of joke: "My wife has a great fuzz box, I love playing with it". Though, that's not the biggest takeaway from this video for me. The takeaway is that I really like fuzz! But I didn't used to like it, for 20 years I didn't care about fuzz, even though I loved listening to the fuzzy The Smashing Pumpkins guitars. When I moved on from digital modelling and built my first pedalboard in early 2020, and put fuzz on it, it really grew on me. I bought a used DOD Carcosa fuzz, it will be delivered next week. It will be interesting to try it! It's supposedly capable of being pretty wild and a bit glitchy. Thanks for the fun and informative content, JHS! I'll look at your fuzzes too, and maybe an analogue delay because I *caugh* "need" one.
Mattoverse…wowee zowee. I picked up a Tremstortion yesterday from TwinTown in Minneapolis and have had a ball working it into my rig. Is it safe to assume that Josh is aware of the high quality what’s-in-the-box swag game Mattoverse offers? It’s beautiful and there’s stickers and a tiny tin of mints and a manual on magenta paper plus a button, not to mention an itty bitty purple plastic parachute person and a tipped-in CD of tunes I’m assuming also originate from somewhere in the Mattoverse. Anyways, love ya’ll, love the show, always anxiously awaiting the next installment.
I see your point about the one knob. However I would have to be in love with the sound. Most people dial in the sound and leave it. In my opinion it's just about flexibility . (Those extra knobs) I am in the process of putting together a Tone bender with crappy parts found in old TV sets and Hi Fi in the day. Any Who I like the Jams You guys Rock.c];-)
Favorite White Stripes record? Since you asked: White Blood Cells. Even though it was their 3rd record or something, I'd never heard of them. Then one day "Fell In Love With A Girl" was all over the radio. I should've got sick of it as often as they played it. I never did. I can listen to it on repeat all the way to work. On a really bad day, I actually did (recently) & it was one of the only things that held me together (TMI, sorry). Great record. I remember some people going nuts about how much they hated it. A lot of "these guys are even worse than Nirvana" in the online (and maybe even a few print) reviews. Love it.
Great job lads 👍 Sorry if you've been over this before, what is the signal chain for recording the bass? Perhaps just a JHS colour box straight to the DAW? Thanks again! Killer sounds (:
Actually, I used the BOSS Dimension-C pedal because it had no knobs and made for fast switches between songs. I still have that pedal and it still works perfect, a typical BOSS product.
Hey manufacturer, try this: Make a 1 knob pedal with 4 different settings. Each setting within a quarter turn of the knob (and maybe a 'click' feel when one fuzz type is at its max., before it changes to the next). So it's 4 presets and the user just adjusts how much preset fuzz signal is in the mix. This logic could also be used in chorus pedals etc. Easy to remember what is what with only one knob to adjust. Ps. Make the turning knob BIG (necessary for finetuning) And personally, I'd still prefer some way to adjust to what type of guitar/pickups I'm using i.e. a simple frequency adjustment, like a toggle switch.
my one knob fuzz that has been on my board for like 12 years is a D*A*M Meathead, can't be beat. Also, the Little Big Muff is now $400CAD on reverb. Thanks Josh.
A legendary take on the Coloursound! All doom one knobers like the Massif, the Cthulhu Fuzz or the Malaise Forever - Vicious Bastard are inspired by the Meathead. 😊
I love all the white stripes albums (along with pretty much anything Jacks White has done over his career), but favorite White Stripes album (to listen to as an album) for me has to be De Stijl
I have 7 Fuzz pedals remaining , they all have between 3 & 6 knobs & switches , because more knobs is more good , and a gate/ bias in getting to the point of mandatory for me now so I may have to mod the 3 knob one. oooh I started typing before you got to the Erupter, now THAT's a good idea and I'm going to have to question everything again .... gosh darn it!
I wish there was a way the internet could punch those who hate on Josh’s guitar playing… This video is the latest demonstration of his versatility, tone, and creativity. But haters gonna hate… Keep at it bruh…
Internet broken. Fuzzy nut. Well done JHS...the internet is yours for today. And as always thanks for the wisdom. You folks are a true music appreciation resource. Thanks Josh and Company. 2 JHS pedals and growing.
Just for 139 butts!
This video and it’s comedic elements are the reasons why I love the people at JHS so much. Way to go guys!
So many knobs in one building. 🧐
Thanks for having us!! 🥳
🖤Much love!!!
I’m not a bass player, but gotta take a moment and say the bass in this episode was like a fan edit version of Bambi…staring Addison as “THUMPer”. Loved it!!!
some seriously quality jams and jokes in this episode, you guys always cheer me up.
The Golden Fleece is one of my favorite pedals. Glad to see it getting some love.
Great episode. Excellent jams and great playing. You all are amazing. Look forward to your next episode. Peace be with you always.
12:50 if this jam was on spotify I would listen to it all day. That slide solo was amazing
I just gotta say I absolutely LOVE the intro song and how it all just comes together I’m into this!
I love it. You have an actual peanut gallery. Love all your videos, thank you guys!
Thank you, Josh and JHS Show crew, much appreciated!
Best. Episode. Ever!!!! Laughter and learning. Thanks!!
This has to be one, if not the best, video of the channel.
Very impressed with Nick’s drumming in this video! It’s always good but today it felt special.
One of the funniest episodes!!!
You guys are great
Fantastic bass playing throughout. Wonderful foundation and fill. Fuzzy Nut!
Fantastic show! Thanks for the laughs
God, love the jams on this one. Nice!!
Nick, your ghost notes on the snare are getting so smooth. Great jobs.
LMAO at the “sick burn” on Rhett!
Great video, JHS.
I got inspired and starting ripping knobs off all my pedals. I'm not sure the delay is all that useful with only the volume knob, but idk maybe I'll find out soon enough if I keep using it 😛
And now they're worth much less money, which is kind of what Josh was saying.
I'm actually looking for a 10 band equalizer with a single knob.
Another great episode guys.
You guys rule... seriously great episode :)
Particularly nice jams on this one ❤️
Love the sick burn, love the demos! Ain't no body got time for multiple knobs maaan!
Nice show! Man, Can’t Count on Disco had all the feels. Kind of a Killers vibe to it.
The best part of these is when you jam , thanks guys!
I liked all the jams. The drummer and the bass man are good. Josh is very interesting as a player. Thanks Josh.
Hii. I really enjoy your channel. I love you company's ethos. You really do hit the target.
I've bought boutique, bought vintage, and even gone diy.
Truth for me is that your gear works and is unlikely to break in a shart of plastic (at worst) or have a stomp fail or knob crackly hissy (unlikely but more likely 😁)
Anyways, apart from the Crybaby, my current pedal setup doesn't have anything that cost more than $40 new.Klon-Rat-Delay-Reverb-Looper.
Fuzzy nuts made my day. Well done🤙🏻
Not necessarily my favorite White Stripes track but one that made a big impact on me was "Fell In Love With A Girl". great vid as usual guys! black math is my fav!
Love your jams. You rock. Just cut my nob off and thrown it away. Now I just got fuzz and no nobs. Like you said much better now. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this video! Love one knob pedals! 👍💥🎵💫
You should do an updated version of the video you did on one knob pedals years ago! And maybe include two knob pedals in the video as well! Thanks again! 👍💫💥🎵
The laugh after the “knob-sense” joke was totally appropriate and I enjoyed it
Man, that's some Jamming Guitar there Josh!!! 💯🤘😎
Happy birthday Josh!
The third man pedal was really impressive. Just like the perfect Octafuzz
The Does it Doom Fuzzcoven is a super good one knob fuzz. All the pedals they have made are one knob! They only make limited editions and they sell out quickly but if you come across one-or if they’re reissued-they are worth getting.
You guys are awesome.

Happy (belated) Birthday Josh!
Great video JHS...'Black Math' is one of my favorites on Elephant.

Never been a fuzz kinda player because I can never get a good result just south of refried bean farts ... this show may have changed my fuzz destiny by knowing there are excellent fuzz pedals out there that don't cost 7K . Loving the modal weirdness of the Muff Fuzz jam!
I am loving the hell out of the humor and the high-quality jams, even though I think a fuzz needs at least 2 knobs (dirt and volume), or maybe make the one knob the volume control and set the dirt to autodestruct internally. Keep up the great work, guys!
G'day Josh,
Thanks for a great video, & an even greater Record Time.
I'm a big White Stripes/Jack White fan, so I do have Elephant on CD. Being such a big fan, I don't have a favourite album, but I will tell you what I like about the Elephant album.

Andrew
The only one knob pedal I have is DOD Phasor 201 and I absolutely love it. I think you're onto something.
Gonna highly highly recommend the Fredric Effects Demon Fuzz as one belonging on this list.
A recreation inspired by the classic EHX op amp Muff Fuzz, the tiny little things. This one has a germanium and silicon choice of diodes!
Fredric Effects are under rated. Truly superb pedals
Oooh! Nice slide!
Dinosaur farm is my favorite genre blending jam - love it!
Love that album! And those are 2 of my fav songs on it. ❤️
Some killer 0-1 knob pedals are the treble boosters by BSM!
Those jams are soooo funny!
Nick’s disco face, was priceless!!
Holy shit, that album is almost 20 years old? Getting old fast, here...
Way to go on the episode y'all, fun. Can't Count on Disco is a good one. Sounds like Death from Above 1979
That colorsound has insanely good cleanup 😍
Josh’s guitar playing was extra tasty on this vid. Nice job buddy.
I checked out many of these fuzz pedals. The Earthquaker pedal is really nice, but I need more than one knob. Nice shootout! Thanks!
Ur gonna have to leave sir
I took Josh’s instructions to heart and so there goes my Line 6 DM4 & MM4, my 90’s Black Russian Big Muff, my Whammy Wah xp100, my Dan Electro Daddy O, my Freq Out, my Plus Pedal Sustainer, oh and and my Helix LT (luckily I sold a bunch of pedals after I got the Helix). Now, all I’m left with is my BBE Sonic Stomp from my closet….Awesome!. No more knobs at least. Damn you JHS!!!
Damn shots fired right off the bat 😂
I love fuzzes! These fuzzes are awesome.
My vote for best jam is Can't Count on Disco just because Nick looks so happy when the main beat kicks in!
Favorite White Stripes record is White Blood Cells. First one I bought and it's a perfect album to me. Raw performances but great sounding recordings. It's the sweet spot for them as far as I'm concerned
Fuzztherapy ... I'm surprised how much this video makes me feel happy! I probably need Fuzztherapy :)
My favorite one knob pedal is Native Audio's Running Wolf, a simple but very dynamic little pedal. Sadly, I don't think it's on their main production line anymore, and mine was a gift from a friend four or five years ago
Omg I love native audio, they are amazing at simple yet versatile - never knew they had a fuzz
I hope future videos include more studio audience reactions similar to one elicited by “fuzzy nuts.” Thank you.
Happy Birthday, fortyboy, i would like to thank you. I am trying (a clone) of the EQD sunny o life pedal (ratfuzz), highly recommend to try the original.
This episodes got some charm in it. I can’t not through Vick Audio Lucky 13 fuzz into this ring though, just has that one knob mojo
Also, that octave effect is on ball and biscuit and girl you have no faith in medicine, both amazing
The guys laughing at "the fuzzy nuts" circuit, almost like Beavis and Butthead... Funny! 😆 I have a same type of joke: "My wife has a great fuzz box, I love playing with it".

The whole "everything mentioned on here becomes expemsive" myth has at least one amazing exception, Marshall's compressor pedals. Good shnizz
cool jams
Dinosaur farm was amazing!
dang those drums sound good
I see your point about the one knob.
I'm pretty sure College Radio Dropout is 90% an actual Sideshow song. Bravo. Accurate!
That jam is very similar to Poptones from Public Image Limited
😄 I was just watching a Rhett video right before this. Ur a trip dude
I have a one knob fuzz pedal I use all the time, it's the Fuzzlord Void Master, definitely worth a try, especially for doomy stoner stuff
Nick’s snare has so much weight to it. Sounds like he’s hitting harder than it looks like he is. Bravo.
Nick is killing it on drums
Favorite White Stripes record? Since you asked: White Blood Cells. Even though it was their 3rd record or something, I'd never heard of them. Killer sounds (:
Actually, I used the BOSS Dimension-C pedal because it had no knobs and made for fast switches between songs. I still have that pedal and it still works perfect, a typical BOSS product.
Tomcat Horizon is just the vibe I needed right now. More please. More hot summer day introspective inspirational rock, thank you.
The Third Man pedal sounds so chaotic, I love it
Hey manufacturer, try this: Make a 1 knob pedal with 4 different settings.
Ps. Make the turning knob BIG (necessary for finetuning)
And personally, I'd still prefer some way to adjust to what type of guitar/pickups I'm using i.e. a simple frequency adjustment, like a toggle switch.
That little big muff is so good
Since I never change the settings on my pedals, I’ll just rip those knobs right off. Thanks, Josh!
my one knob fuzz that has been on my board for like 12 years is a D*A*M Meathead, can't be beat.
The Colorsound is my fave !!
5:36 this has to be inserted in every episode about old unknown pedals 🤣🤣
I wish there was a way the internet could punch those who hate on Josh’s guitar playing… This video is the latest demonstration of his versatility, tone, and creativity. But haters gonna hate… Keep at it bruh…
