    I’ve just started making my own skin care after YEARS of using Mary Kay. At 56 my skin looks old and wrinkly and I have a high toxicity level in my blood. I’ve learned how to detox my liver using castor oil, and that led me down this path of natural skin care using homemade products. Thank you so much for the recipe and I will let you know how it goes.

    I don't hear a NJ/NY accent and I am from NJ.
    I used to make a facial cleanser for myself. I had terrible adult acne. It made my skin more oily so I had to give up and look for sustainable organic companies to help. Using a Vitamin B oil got rid of it. I needed to double cleanse (with an oil cleanser and exfoliating cleanser). I really like learning about different people's approaches to skincare. I love that you used honey in this!!! That is so cool. It does look similarly to what I use even. I'd try your cleanser, but I've been successful with no acne for 8 years with what I have been using. Your skin looks amazing!

      @@bygrace20 Ah. That could be, though NJ people tend to not say it that way (never heard it and I am a 6th gen NJ resident). We say it with a "wah" sound. Usually it is people from Long Island that have what is assumed as the NJ accent (though they are in NY).

    Great crunchy DIY recipe! I make my own skincare, and crunchy is the term used for very basic and "natural". I actually find castle soap to strong for me usually. I may give this brand a try. If you have sensitive skin I would stay away from using essential oil. Remember just because it is "natural" it can still harm. People use to rub essential oils on the skin until they realized it would actually burn. I have also been one on those who could not use natural deodorant with baking soda, because the baking soda would change the ph of my skin and cause a rash. I love your videos and natural approach. It is shocking some of the ingredients that are put into most skincare.

    Thanks Lea I've been wanting to make a diy facial cleanser. God has been leading me to make a lot of changes. So many harsh things in womens beauty products. Just switched from Myers hand soap to a foam cleanser using castile soap castor oil and eucalyptus.🧼 I have eczema so super sensitive skin. I'm excited to try. I might try with lavender. 🙏🌈😊

    I started using castile soap and vinager on my hair. I got through the transition and my scalp has improved hugely. I had big sores but those have gone. It's still a bit flaky but I'm just giving it more time, i figure it was so bad it just needs more time. Occasionally i make a linseed gel and rosemary essential oil to treat my scalp, but lately I've been slack as I've been short on time. I think mu hair loss has improved a lot too, I still kind of loose a fair bit but the spot that was starting to thin noticeably seems to have thickened up again. I would love to try this natural homemade face cleanser. Mine is natural store bought, but I'd like to just make my own. I haven't hit peak making my own castile soap level yet, but maybe one day it's on my radar. 😊 i also transitioned on my deodorant. It was pretty gross at first and my skin didn't seem to like the baking soda in the deodorant i bought. But i managed to find a local brand that works great and uses tapioca starch instead of baking soda. There's other natural things in there too. Works great, no stink.

    Such a fantastic, easy-to-follow DIY tutorial! 🌿 I love how you explain each step with such care, especially the importance of the transitional phase when switching to natural skincare. Your use of natural ingredients like honey, Castile soap, and apricot oil really shows your knowledge and dedication to healthy skin. I can't wait to try this Radiance face cleanser for myself! And the tip about not using citrus oils in the sun was so helpful! Keep sharing these gems, and I’ll definitely be back for more. 💕✨"

    I just made your recipe except did not add water and it blended well and the consistency is still easy to pump. Looking forward to using this!

    Thanks for this recipe! It makes my skin super soft. My only question was how to keep the honey from settling to the bottom? My soap pump got stuck 😕

    • @LittleHouseOnTheMountain
      @LittleHouseOnTheMountain  Год назад

      Hmm I've never had that happen. The honey always liquefies when I make it and mix it around with the soap. I just give it a little shake before I use it but I've never had it get stuck in the pump. I would warm it under some hot water to get it unstuck.

    Dear Leah, I love it to make my own face wash, amazing!! It felt so good, but unfortunately after a few weeks I get irritated skin and my acne increases. I tried it with jojoba oil and rosehip oil. I have a feeling the skin reaction is because of the castile soap. Do you have an idea what an alternative could be? Sending you much love, Jeanine

      You could try African black soap. Many benefits using that. You definitely need to add some moisturizing ingredients if using on your face though. You melt it down with some water. There are some recipes out there that show you.

    this sounds amazing 😃 Lea, do you know a recipe for a maskara remover to DIY? One that removes waterproof maskara? I stoped using maskara because I have very sensitive eyes and the removers gave me lots of problems.

    Question: The recipes for DIY facial cleansers like the unscented Castile soap from Dr bronner has coconut oil in it. Is that an issue with clogging pores? B/c it is highly comedogenic....so is it an issue when using it to wash our face? And would a recipe like this be safe to use for children?

    I recently bought a couple of different scalp scrubs on etsy, and they're very interesting. I was concerned because I sometimes use dry shampoo (not spray, but powder, from an etsy shop) and don't want my follicles getting clogged up. But now I'm wondering if I can just use any body scrub on the scalp. hmmm. I'm not wanting to be scrubbing hard, just gently.

    Question for you...I am on a gut healing journey and switching to natural skin products is also a part of that. Since using this wash ( I did not add any essential oils) and the face oil for the last few days, I have been experiencing redness and slight burning sensation on my face that lasts all day. ( Almost feels like sunburnt skin) Is this typical for the "Transition" process or do you suggest I try something different in my wash/oil?

      I don't. I mix carrot seed or raspberry seed oil in my daily face oil during the summer. If I were to use one, I'd go with a mineral sunscreen
