I have made two batches and when becomes solid again and not whipped. I did whip it a very long time. It’s easy to use still and melts when you use it but I wanted it whipped.
I made it. It’s nice but lately I am just using the shea butter with clear aloe Vera gel or with Vaseline mixed in. I just melted the shea butter and dropped in some Vaseline , stir and it’s a warm wonderful moisturizer!
Hi Connie. Great recipe… I have a similar version I make. I can’t wait to try it! Just a tip I wanted to share. I am a certified essential oil specialist and educator. I wanted to suggest you don’t add the lavender essential oil as heat kills the therapeutic properties. Instead add it once it cools a couple minutes.❤

🌷PRECIOUS FACE CREAM : 100 g shea butter, 50 g sweet almond oil, 20 drop of essential oil (optional). Heat the shea butter in a saucepan over a low heat. When it is completely melted and cooled, pour it into a bowl together with the almond oil and essential oil. Mix well with a kitchen whisk (or a teaspoon) and then pour it directly into the jar of your choice, close it and place it in the fridge for an hour, the shea butter will solidify again 💜
Ha! She made this look so easy and I followed it to the letter. The disclaimer is that if it won't whip and stays runny it must cool completely. Wrong. "Cooling completely" infers leaving it at room temperature, or refrigerating it until it is cool, which does nothing. It has to be "refrigerated until it is solid again", then broken up into pieces, then whipped with a hand mixer," because the immersion blender is a messy joke. The lotion is oily and it gets on everything during the process, because I had to go from the immersion blender to the hand mixer because it doesn't make it smooth enough with the immersion blender. ANYWAY, after all of that I will say that it turned out bright white and beautifully whipped, but, man, oh man! I like that it is pure, but it is a bit greasy. My discovery is that if I pour the melted blend of ingredients into lip gloss pots and refrigerate them until solid, then those are awesome lip balms. Not minimalist, because of all the ingredients to purchase, the pans and jars, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, but at least it is pure. I am glad that I didn't give up on it.
@@gprincess428 Hand mixer is definitely my go to for whipping butters and you can somewhat reduce the oil ratio to make it less oily. I’d do it in smaller batches so you can gauge the ratios for when you want to do a larger batch. When using less oil in certain amounts it will get much thicker, yet creamy after sitting, so I’d just play around with it. Oh, and when I mix it I put a kitchen towel(any towel) or grocery bag around the top of the bowl in a way to prevent it from sloshing around. Watch out for the covering you choose catching onto the beaters. You can even mix with your finger or a popsicle stick if that’s what you have. And I like to use the container my shea butter comes in then reuse them when I’m making smaller batches and differing ingredients. Less clean up. You’ve got this!!!
So I think I may have found a solution to the mixture not whipping and staying liquefied. I had the same problem. Had accidentally left it in the freezer a bit too long to cool and it hardened partially, but it whipped beautifully at first and then turned to liquid a moment beyond that. I had to try a few more attempts and it was messy but I found the right consistency. I actually think the problem is a combination of the blender and melting the butters beforehand. I had to let it harden quite a bit and drizzled a bit of olive oil as I was blending. I think if you're using a powerful blender, try placing all the ingredients in the jar and whipping them together without melting them first or melt the coconut oil only. That's what I plan to do next time. Once you get it right, it is luxurious and worth it. Connie you have taught me so much. My hair and skin feels amazing. Thank you!

I wanted to suggest you don’t add the lavender essential oil as heat kills the therapeutic properties. Instead add it once it cools a couple minutes.
Made this today. It took a while to get the right temperature for whisking. I put different essential oil combinations in 4 different little pots. My husband was also in the kitchen making chapatis, just wearing shorts and an apron, so instead of wiping my hands on a cloth between making concoctions, I used 4 legs, 4 arms and his shoulders. He said I should make this "stuff" more often! 😅
This is such a great recipe. I wasn’t able to get it thick the first time I made it so I added some bees wax as an emulsifier. I was able to pour it hot right into my food processor and it thickened right up in about a minute.
You have a soothing voice. I’ve never made my own moisturizer but somehow I ended up on this part of RUclips and now I feel like I’m part of the cult and I must only move forward making my own

Loving your videos, loving your kindness, sweetness and smartness 🌸 I have tried your recipe with lots of fear because I have started getting eczema on my hands a few months ago. I have tried everything, parfume/paraffin free baby lotions to expensive pharmacy moisturizers... Either I got allergic reactions or didn't moisture enough and I couldn't stop having my eczema worse. Only Vaseline was partly helpful but not enough. I went to doctor and he gave some sort of steroids liquid but it was only helping when I use it. After 2 weeks, I had to stop using steroids and my eczema came up again. Long in short, your recipe saved my life! No allergic reactions, super moisture and smells amazing. Now I am making my second batch 😊 this time I used less cacao and shea butter less, coconut more to have a softer. Thank you very much ❤️

Didn’t work out for me, stayed in liquid stage. So I melted some beeswax used a quarter of it, made chapstick. Worked out great for lip balm. I’ll keep leftovers for next batch of lip balm. Just a suggestion for others.
I tried this, and man it’s actually really hard, it’s a great recipe, and it feels amazing on my skin but it’s super oily. Also, it took me about three tries to get right, it would always harden overnight anyone know why? I know now tho that you can add arrowroot powder to it to get rid of oiliness
The lotion last many, many months if kept in a dry cool place. If it gets hot, it will melt. You can still use it, it will only be melted. The ingredients have a very long shelf life too. Enjoy!
I fell in love with this body lotion! It is my favorite moisturizing lotion I've ever used.

Hi, i don't know why but it won't go solid, it's very runny and liquidy. Any tips please? Thank you!

Great video first time watching your videos and new subscriber , do you have recipes for lip balm and face moisturizer?
Thank you 😊❤️🙏
I love your video! You have such a soft, sweet way about you which is very informative and easy to absorb. 😆I'm going to try this recipe, it looks easy enough and I have everything I need......except the cute blue jars. LOL. Thank you for sharing with me. I'm very interested in your other videos as well. It would be a pleasure to like and subscribe to your channel. 🥰
Wonderful cream. Please create a nice cream for the face🙏🙏🙏
I can’t wait to make this! How long does it last once you make it?
Could you please post oatmeal lotion for eczema??? Thank you .
Helpful video thank u
Nice, I make a lotion bar, and a body butter. Very simular
Didn’t work out for me, stayed in liquid stage. So I melted some beeswax used a quarter of it, made chapstick. Worked out great for lip balm. I’ll keep leftovers for next batch of lip balm. Just a suggestion for others.
Thank you
I definitely will try
Thanks 🙏💕
Very cool!!
I tried this, and man it’s actually really hard, it’s a great recipe, and it feels amazing on my skin but it’s super oily. Also, it took me about three tries to get right, it would always harden overnight anyone know why? I know now tho that you can add arrowroot powder to it to get rid of oiliness
Thankyou for sharing that, how long does the lotion last once made and what's the longevity of the cocoa butter and shea butter once opened.
The lotion last many, many months if kept in a dry cool place. If it gets hot, it will melt. You can still use it, it will only be melted. The ingredients have a very long shelf life too.
Enjoy!
Thank you 😊
I will try this lotion!
