I did a side by side comparison using the same chain in 24” maple 572 vs 462 and the 572 out cut the 462 in all 3 cuts I did. The 572 has ass to it. Yeah it may be heavier than the Stihls but it’s got torque. They’re all great saws you just need to see what fits you best and go with it.
Put an 8 tooth on the 500i and it really shows the lack of torque,, the 572 hangs on,, My old 066 stihl with magnum muffler and good tune beats them both..
Own both saws ,, both modded mufflers ,, Really wakes the 572 up ,,Irony is the 572 has more torque despite the smaller displacement ,, Both good saws ,, If you cannot decide ,, buy both :-)
One thing stihl is really good at doing: cashectomies, extracting wads of cash. Not just at initial purchase. Also by limiting parts info and steering you to dealer. It adds up.

how is it that its lost? there is 1 Full sec advantage for the Sithl in the first cut, add this on the rest and the Stihl works out faster, let alone testing it using a 28 inch bar instead of the 25...
@@ivymainhouse7865 add up all the times it still lost though it was so close it could easily have gone the other way. Both great saws not sure why people get so worked up.
The 500i was not under enough load in the cut at times, it needed more load. Rocking the saw will always kill cut times as well. That size and type of wood simply isn't large enough to test 70cc saws properly IMHO. I'm not trying to be overly critical, just offering my advice if you choose to make more of these types of comparisons.✌
I actually tried to out cut the 572 with the 500i. The small clip is only a fraction of the cutting we did that day and there were multiple operators doing multiple cuts each time the 572 out performed the 500i. Test that were done in Sweden had the opposite results.
i agree he didnt push hard while using the Stihl but he pushed really hard using the husky, while wearing a hasqvarna shirt its understandable lol.....also having fuel injection the 500 would be faster using it overall....

This test was done at the Husqvarna R&D facility in Charlotte, NC in order to gauge the performance of the saws. It was never intended for the video to be public or to show the capabilities of the saws. It was only to gather data. I was one of several people to run the saws side by side that day. I don’t give any slack to Husqvarna regarding how I use or expectations for their saws if anything I try to fail them.

Alright Alright Alright....but the husky eat a day 12 litre petrol the 500i easy 20 litre..sooo in 24 days period 200 litre extra petrol = £300 roughly a month extra use the 500i.
On the second test the Sithl finished it off at 5.07 NOT 5.23 just freeze frame it and check it yourself, once u pause the video using ur space bar, simply use the arrows on ur mac if ur usin a mac next to the right shift. Whoever did the timing is either biased or simply not precise in his or her work. They stop the time at 5.27 not correct. Also worse started 0.20 sec late, as i said check it frame by frame. so 0.16+0.20 thats 0.36 to be taken off from 5.07 = 4.71 + add some hard load as he did while using the 572XP he was pushing all his weight like mad, u can hear the engine slowing, so the second time of the Sithl should be 4.40 over half a second faster than his time given on the screen.
interesting..looks like the 1st cut for the 572 was dailing in the auto tune by then it was on its game..both nice saws...500i is slightly lighter and almost 10cc more so interesting the husqvarna takes the win
i own both saws, working with since 2 Years The 500i is lighter and more maneuverable both saws performing equali good cutting down big trees but 1 Thing the MS500i has is the gas if you pull the triger on the 500i you always under every condition have full power on the chain but thats because of the new injection technice

@@ivymainhouse7865 I think you need a calculator my friend. The Stihl lost as it is not a second it is .70 on the first cut where the Husky was still warming up. Next cut the Stihl loses by .40 then by .30 then by .56 which is .56 or just over a half second slower if you add them all up. They are both great saws and the next time the Husky could lose by that much especially in larger wood where the cc difference will show. I prefer Husky but am smart enough to know Stihl saws are awesome and I would love to own them too.
@@daveyboy6985 i noticed that too, but on the Stihl they are more than 1 error with the timing, i went through the whole clip. And wrote exactly what i saw and timed everything using the timer on the video. So all in all, I say the Sithl is much faster in real life bec of the injection, dont forget that, so if your using the saw the whole day, it will easily beat the husky....count how many wood ur cutting how many times u are pressin the power and how fast is the stihl response, so when ur counting milliseconds then u might as well take this in consideration as the starting and response time of the stihl with the fuel injection will make many many milliseconds. Cutting time ok lets say husky is faster but what about working time?

Hey I know the video stuff your doing but maybe lean on that 500i like you did the husky and see the results then. I enjoy saw videos and I'm a brand whore. But, don't be afraid to show the differences even if they are not the outcomes you expect or want. Please just one unbiased comparison please.
The MS500i Is not just 9cc bigger than the Husq, it's also rated for 1 more HP at 6.8HP vs Husq's 5.8HP. So it should clearly out cut the Husq. I own a brand new MS500i, but have not cut much with it yet. I can't understand why it would not outpace the 572XP. Somebody is not telling the truth about the Stihl's performance!
Small wood is an equalizer Yes it may be rated a full hp more but I dont see/feel 6.8 . I've run a 500 wasnt impresssed . Especially for the price and how its built . I jumped on the 462 bandwagon , bought 2 then realized they may be lighter and snappier than a 460 but they dont have the tq to pull a long bar in a pinch like a 460 . Ported 7900 will walk the 500 and less money . One thing stihl doesn't do i cant stand is show the tq rating . Thats the number that counts . The 572 has same rating stock as the 576 non at had 4.5 nm .

The Stihl was not a second faster it was .70 sec faster in the first cut (guessing the Husky was not warm yet) but like I said slower in all the cuts after coming up .56 sec slower overall.
Having the injection fuel all day works out faster as its more responsive so this test is not a real representation which saw is faster , in fact like it says in the description on paper yes husky win but in real life the Stihl win, so usually u dont use paper or need paper when cutting , its real life. Similar to Porsche 911 on paper its always behind, but in real life it beats the likes of anything really..

They had the same chain and the bars were the stock bars that the manufacturer sells with the saws.
