This is the human problem. Especially young humans. You always feel like there's something else to do. You never realise you already had it all exactly where you were.
It's always been our dream to cycle around the world and we were just renting whilst waiting for a hospital operation. We're sad to leave but there's a big ol' beautiful world out there and if there's all the beauty here, imagine what there is to experience in the wide world 😊🌍
And we convince ourselves there is a BETTER job; a BETTER partner; a BETTER life.

It's sad to go but we never planned to stay. The sadness showed we enjoyed our time here but ultimately we're excited for the journey and future adventures that lie ahead 🌍🚲
Travel and see the world while you are young. You will have time to settle and make a home later.

Thank you :) It is tough to leave but as we were renting and with our dream to cycle around the world, it was always temporary. Although it doesn't make it an easy decision, we think it's the right one for us. Only got as far as 'accept offer' 😥. I am 70 and could not bear to leave such a heavenly place. Life is full of endings and beginnings, you are both young and have a whole world of beginnings still to come. So, fare thee well, you have both been a source of joy to me. 🚴 ♥ 🚴♂

I could never leave my pets behind 😢
They were feral kittens we rescued to find them a forever home as no shelters would take them in. We were their foster parents until we could find them a home. Im so glad we took them in as they would've died over winter as two tiny kittens. And as they'll be with friends we'll get regular updates. We did explain this all and their journey in a previous video, if you're interested 😊

Such a lovely goodbye. I just moved away from what I thought was going to be a forever home because I embraced a dream of buying a floating house. I took the leap, in part, because of inspiration from y’all. I’ve watched you embrace and find joy in doing things that may be considered unconventional to many and often hard. "Being sad is a sign of how beautiful this chapter has been" kind of hit me tbh, as someone who's about to leave the lakes to go to uni I feel the same mix of emotions as I know I wont find the same kind of beauty somewhere else but I'm also ready to fulfil my dreams.

So relatable. I sold a house worth of stuff and my partner and I moved into our converted school bus. We traveled around the states then sold our bus, lived in Denmark and now we’re back in the states. So hard and scary but worth it. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. Good luck to you both! I hope the next phase is a smooth transition. Lots of rad people out here in Oregon and you can’t beat the views.

A lot of mixed emotions but as we get regular cat updates. we'll be sure to share them with you too :) They'll always have such a special place in our hearts for the journey we had together. Thank you!
I grew up going to a remote cottage on the shore of Derwentwater called The Warren. It wasn't up to standard to be an official holiday let so we got it privately for very cheap. The interior hadn't been touched since the Edwardian era when it was built. I mean literally, beds, furniture, kitchenware, ornaments everything still in a time warp. My Grandfather responded to an advert in the Guardian back in 1960, the only time it was ever advertised, and the people including our humble working class family from Lancashire remained one of the few families allowed to go (depended on how much you looked after The Warren). About 10 years ago, Lady Elizabeth (owner) passed away and left it to her nephew. He updates and changed the cottage completely, and now it's on Sally's Cottages for a price out of our league. I grew to know Borrowdale and a lot of the people there like the back of my hand. Those were glorious days, and when you left the house I'm your video it reminded me of the last time I left the Warren as it was: an Edwardian time warp in probably the most beautiful place in England. Cumbria has always had a magical home feel to me, and I will live there one day, unfortunately it was not meant to be this year, but it will come. I love your attitude about packing up and moving on - not everyone could do that. X

@@tonypaddler we go back once a year on "mates rates" which is still 700 per week. I still love it because of how special it is but because of all the decades of family memories there. The Warren is not as good in my opinion now it's been modernised, but still a lovely extraordinary place situated in the middle of Manesty Woods and with a front garden down to Derwentwater. Magical. But now everyone knows 😅🙄🤪💔

Yes, prices are ramped up in the LDNP, I book places just outside the boundary.
I fully understand just how the modernization will have spoiled it for your memories, especially now that it has been 'discovered and invaded' by strangers!
Something very similar happened to me with a cottage in Hamsterley Forest (County Durham).
Now when I cycle or walk past it I get quite emotional. Oh well ... 😓
@@tonypaddler yes, I know there is incredibly value just outside the national park. Until recently I had a house in Great Clifton in (between Cockermouth and Workington) under offer however there was to much work needed to be done which I couldn't afford. I do like that area and it's only 20 minutes to Keswick

There's mixed emotions here too. But we will definitely miss the cats, they've become such a big part of our lives. they have become so settled in their new home and we get regular updates which we love :)

But exactly as you said, we want to explore whilst we're young🌎 We will of course post regular updates and continue to make videos with the same chilled-out, nature-focused ethos as we explore. The cats have gone to friends who live locally to our family in the south, so away from their Cumbrian roots. But it does mean we get to visit them and get updates too🐾

They're doing great, loving the summer in the south with a lot less rain than the north. They spend a lot of time playing with their new mum in the long grass in the garden and have the added luxury of a cat flap at their new home which they make full use of

A suggestion for your big OE. Make a Super Cat Stove! As you have cats and therefore have cat food the cat food can should present no problem; This stove with a wicking liner weighs about 15 g and will boil 500 ml of water for just 25 ml of fuel in about 4 minutes. Great for the morning coffee and saves the Trangia for the main cooking job. I have used a cat stove for many years now and tend to leave the Trangia for longer trips where it excels. Check it out as it is efficient and a real fuel miser.

So going off around the world on 'adventures' - hmmmm - to my mind a huge mistake but I hope it will be fun. You already have everything you could ever want right there - the two of you, possibly a family one day, a gorgeous place to live. I'm a homebody so I guess I have zero interest in such a need for 'adventure' anyway, altho I have been to quite a few parts of the world myself years ago. Here's hoping you eventually see that this was actually the best you could ever expect in this world - but good luck !
It is hard to leave somewhere so beautiful but we were only renting and waiting for a hospital operation. All with the intention of pursuing our dream of exploring the world. We're lucky to both want that :) And we know home, wherever that may be, will always be waiting for us when the time is right.
Couldn’t have put it better. A reliance of external stimulation whilst approaching middle age is a red flag for me.

I couldn't really make out why you would be leaving such an idyllic setting, but in one of your replies you said you were renting whilst waiting for an operation which explains everything. Without being harsh, renting and owning a property or the land on which it stands are totally different in terms of security and being able to feel a place IS yours to put down roots. So to my mind renting will always feel temporary. It is only when you legally own a property that you can call somewhere home. I know many will find this view contentious and disagree, but owning a freehold property no one can take it away from you unlike when renting circumstances can present themselves that you have to leave which some might say can also happen when you own a freehold property, yes of course, but the situation is rather different. So I fully understand why for you living in this place however idyllic was always temporary. Good luck in your travels and hope the op was a success. You have had a great 18 months there. Memories for life. As you say time to move on to pastures and adventures new. What better way to do it than by cycling around the world.

Crazy to leave a pretty safe home, abandon animals etc. We are living in the end times and if you aren't Christians you should have a hideout! You can read biblical end times prophecy and listen to Dr. Ron Rhodes on end times chronology.
Go. Make your fortunes and come back to retire there . All the best for the future.
We'll definitely go and at some point retire, not sure about how making the fortunes will happen but I remain hopeful😅

You're crazy and mad!! How can you leave a place like that... I'm Cumbrian born and bred and love it. I would never leave my children, my animals or my favourite place in the world
Because life is about experiences. They've absolutely loved it in Cumbria, but it was their plan all along to go on a worldwide adventure. They're not crazy at all. Live and let live. I'm glad you're happy with your life, but don't put other people down because they're choosing a different path. I wish them well on their adventures. Good for them!
I mean I couldn't of said it better myself 🧡 We have absolutely loved Cumbria, the place, the people, the wildlife. But we are reminded that this is such a small corner of the world and we want to experience more beautiful places like this around the world, whilst our thighs are still up to taking us there.
