The Eryri / Snowdonia Marathon 2023

Well I decided I would try and run this as it’s a popular marathon, I haven’t done a road marathon for years, so this is me having a go, not to fast but my longest run in 3 months has only been 20km, the reason being is every time I go off backpacking or cycle touring I have to drop my mileage until I feel more like running properly, so that’s where I’m at, I was quite confident I could get round ok nonetheless, really was a great day, I was assured from my friend that’s run it 30 times now, it was one of the best days ever for the weather, so my Lucky charm got its way 😀 the last hill was hard as my back was getting tight and started to ache, something I seem to suffer with of late, I still loved the marathon and didn’t feel stupid walking up the last big hill, this is definitely a Bucket list marathon, if you like hills that is

Epic Tom, epic shades of beachy. I saw a couple of NHRRC girls at the start and a Leighton Runner too. This ones going on my 'to do list'. Giving beachy a miss next year in prep for the other marathon you know about. Maybe this one for 2025.

There were so many local runners from local clubs, everyone was saying hi, was lovey, it’s a different beast from Beachy as it’s mainly a road marathon but you will probably love it

Nice one! Great video. (I was running with you approaching Beddgelert!) You finished about 10 minutes before me so obviously kept a good pace up!
